When the semi-retired Chairman of the Grizzlies returns to town after a summer away, Rowansville’s newest resident sparks a fire in him that he hasn’t felt in years. She’s perfect for him, if only she would realize it. Flint I’ve done my time with the MC and this town. I step back, handing the Grizzlies over to Jasper and hit the road for a while. Coming home, I find one of my side-businesses has a new partner. One look at her and I want her as my partner, alright. Lifetime partner, that is. I’m old enough to enjoy the chase, it’s the wait that’s pissing me off. Bree I waited decades to find my husband then lost him too soon. I won’t go through that again, but a woman has needs. The only man around here who does it for me, wants a commitment. I think I can outrun Flint, it’s the skeleton in my closet that may catch me though. What’s that old saying, “If it’s not one thing, it’s another?” His skeletons come for me also… Insta-love, HEA, no cheating, panty melting sexiness. 18 and older only.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this romance about a mature couple. I guess I'm showing my age here. Flint is a hot 52 and Bree is a little younger than the h but the author never actually gives her age. I met Flint when I read the first book in this series Jasper (Northern Grizzlies MC 1) by M. Merin . He's the retired former club president but he's still active in the club. Divorced from his first/only wife for many years he's never committed to another woman. He dislikes going with the club "girlies" because as he says most of them are as young or younger than his daughter. When he sees Bree he's immediately smitten but Bree is a hard nut to crack. She's lost a lot in her life and lost her husband a few years ago. Flint is persistent and doesn't give up on her. There's no cheating. Overall I really enjoyed this book. There's very little violence. If you're looking for something other than young, college age girls then this is one that I think you'll like.

2.5 - 3 stars!

Flint used to be the president of the Northern Grizzlies MC but handed over the torch to Jasper because he was getting older and tired. Returning from seeing his ex-wife and kids that he parted peacefully from many years ago, he lays eyes on a newcomer in town named Bree.

Bree came into town and decided to lay roots after traveling and mourning the loss of her husband. She sees Flint and is immediately attracted to the silver fox. Bree just wants someone to warm her bed but Flint has other plans.

"The most primal part of my mind has just marked her as my own. I look down at her and the soft smile on her face is my absolute undoing. I know I will do anything necessary to keep her by my side."

Flint pursues Bree with a single minded focus and Bree pushes him away at every opportunity. This was an older couple romance which I am totally fine with but I loathe deceased exes. So that element soured the romance for me. I also thought Bree was unnecessarily cruel (much like Emma was to Jasper) about where their relationship was going. Flint was loving and caring and was willing to do anything for Bree and I felt like she just tossed him out with her weekly trash. Until she realized how great he really was and how stupid she was being.

So Flint? I loved him. Bree? I did not like her. I just couldn't get behind her choices and I hate that she brought her deceased husband up so much. Sue me...just isn't my thing. So while this is not my favorite of the series so far...I am looking forward to Gunner and his girl!!!

Mature Romance MC Style

It’s rare to see mature romances written in MC books, but this is a refreshing change. The story follows Flint, former president of the Northern Grizzlies MC, and Bree, a woman who has drifted the last few years and decided to buy into a bar in town.

From the moment Flint and Bree meet there are sparks between them and we slowly get to know them and their back stories as they work out their feelings for each other.

This is an intelligent book that understands that when you have two older people falling for each other, they have a lot more complications from their history, which by definition is longer than for people in their twenties.

Though this is a story about someone who spent their life in the MC, Flint, the MC doesn’t play a major role. It is simply where all the men know each other from. Flint has stepped back over recent years from MC, though still is involved, it doesn’t run every moment of his life anymore. Bree has had some heartbreak in her past and it makes moving on into a new relationship very hard for her to contemplate.

It’s a really interesting and moving book. Well worth the read.

4 Star Review Flint (Northern Grizzles #2) by M. Merin
M. Merin is a relatively new author to me and I am surprised I have not come across them before.

Flint is the Chairman of The Northern Grizzlies MC, who has finally returned to Rowansville. From the moment he set eyes on Bree he knew she is the one for him. All he needs to do is convince her.

I had a hard time connecting to Bree but I enjoyed their journey as their relationship developed.

A perfect second installment

I'm waiting for Gunner's story! I liked reading about an older brother who'd lived a full life and then falls for a girl who'd also survived some stuff. I'm not a fan of those stories where characters are picture perfect with no scars or secrets. It's not realistic. People have flaws and I want to read about them finding their HEA. Flint like other Merin novels gives me that.

3 1/2 to four

Better then the first one. Bree did get on my last nerve and for once I got mad at the heroine for being mean to the hero. She was so mean to him when he was being sweet. I couldn’t even get mad at him when he was mean back.

Oh well good read for the summer. I a, interested in Gunner’s story

I really liked this book a lot Flint is one sexy older biker who meets this woman name Bree and she plays hard to get and he falls hard for this woman. So much happens in this book and had to finish it in one night. Have read the others in this series and all have sexy bikers that fall in love with sassy and strong woman. Can't wait to read about Charlie.

Love this series

This is another great story line in a series that I am really enjoying. Flint and Bree are perfect for each other. Flint and Bree have both given up on love but man are the combustible together. The way the come together and her being a spitfire adds a new dimension to the story. They will always have each other's back. Enjoy this series. Can not wait to start the next book.

Flint, being of the older generation of Northern Grizzlies has left the running of the club to the youngsters Jasper and Gunnar. He is content to visit his family and take care of his businesses. A little lonely, he doesn't want to hook up with the club bunnies since they closer to his daughter's age than his. Coming back to town after a run, he spots a hot lady with her dog. She is closer to his age and she has his complete attention. Bree has settled in this town, content to live life quiet after traveling around. She is attracted to Flint but he wants more than she thinks she is willing to give. He will just have to convince her.

M Merin is a recent discovery of mine and I absolutely adore her writing. She rocks! Flint and Bree being older than the usual romance main characters was seriously awesome! They have scars, baggage and secrets. Bree fights her feelings, fights Flint's feelings. She has her reasons, sure but she definitely gives Flint a run for his money. I don't want to give too much away, you just have to read Flint for yourself. I am now addicted to the Northern Grizzlies MC so I'm going to go dive into the next one, Gunnar. 6 stars for Flint!

I love Flint. Read the first two books so far and I am hooked on this MC. I love that Flint ia an older generation but still very much involved in the club. The heroine Bree was awesome( don’t want to give any spoilers). Many all the characters from the first book are also prominent in this story. Can’t wait to read the next book Gunner, I just purchased. This is a must read for any romance or MC romance lover❤️

It’s an awesome story of two middle aged people getting a second chance at love... A lot happens that could tear them apart but Flint is determined to make Bree see how amazing they could be together... she’s stubborn and fights him every step of the way, but the connection between them is to strong to deny...

Love the Second Time Around

I am so happy that the author have Flint his own storyline. He is older than most in the MC, but he still got it. He has been single awhile, then she turns his world upside down. Chemistry is great! Excellent 2nd book in the series!

She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s going to be mine.

Oh my...Flint and Bree...talk about opposites attracting? These two couldn’t have been any more different from each other if they tried! The only thing they have in common is that neither of them are in their twenty’s or hell even their thirty’s.
When Flint sees Bree he has an almost instantaneous reaction to her. He knows beyond a shadow of doubt that Bree will be his Ol’Lady. The problem is that Bree hates being defined as property and considering she has already had her great love with her deceased husband, she’s not in a hurry to commit to anyone else. Flint is crazy about her and ready to claim her from day one, Bree isn’t so sure. She keeps pushing him away, refusing to let anything come from their relationship. But as the dangers to Bree close in on her Flint vows to keep her safe, even if that means making her angry. When it all comes to a head will Flint be enough to Bree safe or is she one more victim in the world of the MC?
