Life isn't the same as it was for twenty eight year old Darcy Carney in her new bot body.
Darcy's ongoing effort to adjust to her life continues with new friends, old friends, and new relationships in her new life. Meanwhile, the efforts of Command are hampered by an unknown force.
Command becomes interested in this bot technology and the possibility of putting people inside them, temporarily at least. Darcy's new mission is to help with that effort, even with her discomfort and bad memories.
When they run afoul of the enemy, Darcy finds out what it is to be left behind, and then has to explore just how far she is willing to go to get home.
