USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Maddrey is a semi-reformed computer geek and homeschooling mother of two who lives in the suburbs of Washington D.C. When she isn’t writing, Elizabeth is a voracious consumer of books. She loves to write about Christians who struggle through their lives, dealing with sin and receiving God’s grace on their way to their own romantic happily ever after.
Luna Rosa by Elizabeth Maddrey is a delightful contemporary Christian romance. It is the second book in the A Tuscan Legacy series that is a collection of stories by different authors linked by characters and themes. I have read the first book in the series so it was great to delve deeper into one of the characters. It can be read as a stand-alone too. Elizabeth Maddrey always writes light hearted fun books that are deeply rooted in God. The main theme of Luna Rosa is using the talents God has given us. "We have to use the gifts God gives us... they're our way to reach the world for Him." Fear is a ploy from the enemy who never wants us to fulfil our God given potential. Work should not be seen as a chore. "I offer that work to God as an act of worship." Everything we do can be turned into worship to thank God for His goodness. Church is important. Meeting together corporately once a week was Jesus' idea. Meeting with other believers will support and strengthen our walk with God. Prayer is our hotline to God. "He's been praying, but not intently... and he wasn't... listening either." As with all relationships, prayer needs to be attentive and we need to listen for answers. Nicknames show comfortability with each other. It signifies a move towards another in a relationship. Family is vital. The church family and our blood family. To lose a parent will affect us deeply. We may keep their memory alive through the medium of the arts. No one should go through life alone. We need to listen to God's plans for our lives and pray about everything, including life partners. We all need encouragers. Encouraging is a gift from God. Luna Rosa was so delightful. Such a heart warming story to brighten any day. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
This second book in A Tuscan Legacy series has been a joy to read. Music is a beautiful thing, it touches the soul in many ways. This book deals with two people who have their lives surrounded in music. Yet, they each have issues with finding true happiness. I enjoyed how Elizabeth Maddrey wrote these two characters. I could identify with Nick's low self-esteem, and Louisiana's drive to fix things. The book is so full of beautiful word pictures. I really felt I was right there hearing the music and experiencing the emotions which came from the songs. I laughed, cried, got upset, and melted in sweet tenderness, throughout the whole story. This book was so good I read it in a day because I just wanted to see what would happen. I just wished I didn't read so fast because now I can't wait for next week to continue with the stories.
A delightful continuation of the series, but set in Washington DC. Believable interaction between a concert pianist and piano tuner / composer. Elizabeth Maddrey wove musical elements, Washington DC cultural, culinary and points of interests, a twist and turn plot with believable characters, and a satisfying conclusion into a well crafted story. My disappointment was with the brief mention of the painting and I am puzzled how the title of the painting relates to the story. Definitely makes this reader wanting more - more romance, more travel, more songs, and more information about the paintings.
Loved this book! Louisiana has moved to DC to be the pianist for the symphony orchestra. There, she meets Nick, and while he thinks she's nothing but a Diva, their paths cross again, and they end up playing a duet at church. Once they both realize they got off on the wrong foot, that Louisiana really isn't the Diva Nick thought she was, and Nick is a very talented musician, not just a piano tuner as Louisiana thought, their friendship develops. Until Louisiana pushes Nick way out of his comfort zone. Will these two be able to get past their differences and see each has value being the people God created them to be? And that maybe, together, they can fulfil God's plan for them??
Nick lives in DC and is a closet composer/arranger and tunes pianos and gives lessons for a living. He meets Louisiana, who is an accomplished touring pianist who’s taking a break and playing for a symphony who wants him to get his music out there. Rejection hurts though and his fears are almost crippling. Will she be able to get through to him? Lovely story, with likeable characters that draw you right in.
I'm enjoying this series. Nick and Louisiana clash at first meeting. She's a renowned pianist, and he's tuning her pianos. But Nick's secret talent blows Louisiana away, and she tries to "help" him by encouraging him to sell his music. As they get to know each other, friendship develops. A few clashes and misunderstandings along the way, and there's the mysterious painting that arrives. . .a continuing thread in this series. A fun short read.
Louisiana and Nicks story is truly amazing. The characters in this book are all very special people. The way they are there to help each other is remarkable. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
The first time Nick sees Louisiana he thinks she’s a Diva. Capital D intended. She thinks he’s a mere piano tuner who needs to get out of her practice space in double quick time.
Set in the heart of Washington DC, Luna Rosa is an amazing story that had me hooked from the first page. I only wish it was longer. Oh and that I could actually hear Nick’s music.
This is book 2 in a no nine book series. You could read it without having read the first, but it works best in order. The series has an interesting premise, one I have rarely seen. This book is good, with a mostly believable plot. The characters are interesting. Overall an enjoyable read.
This is a wonderful story of courage. This is just as good as book 1 in this series. A young man has great talent but can't perform in front of strangers or a camera. She is a performer & concert pianist. It's a great, functional pairing. Can't wait to read how the family gathering in September turns out & who is sending the paintings. Great series!
Loved this story about Nick and Louisiana. He is the piano tuner and she play piano in a symphony. When they meet something clicks between them and before long Nick shares his dreams of having his music published. After a few ups and downs he does manage to get his music online and they have their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this book! I liked the tie in with the whole series, as well as with Maddrey's other books. The characters are believable and likable, and I just wish the book was longer! I'm glad the next one in the series comes out in just a week!!
What a great second book in the Tuscan Legacy series. Loved the character development and interaction between Nick and Louisiana (what an unusual name for a woman). Well written and so very entertaining. Highly recommend.
I wasn't sure about this being a follow-up to the first book of the series of Tuscan Legacy. But Luna Rosa is a stand alone story and is well written. The only weakness is the way it ended; too abrupt! I'll look forward to reading more from Elizabeth Maddrey.
This is the second book of a series with multiple authors. I really liked this one—I like the author’s style of writing. Not only do I plan to read more of this series, but I plan to read more of Elizabeth Maddrey.
A short, sweet novel of discovered love amidst shared interests while overcoming uncertainty and doubt. Christian themed, light romance. Recommended for a winter afternoon by a warm fire (or a nice beach read if it's summer time!).
I am so in love with this “Tuscany” series. I am reading it backwards but it’s a truly exceptional series‼️ A Must Read for all! It’s about family, falling in love, life and faith. I give it 5⭐️’s ~ te amo my fellow readers🥰📚
Loved the problems this couple overcome and how they have to work through so much in order to.. Love that God answers our prayers, even if it sometimes isn't in the way we think it should be.
Wonderful book. I fell in love with Nick and Louisiana. I would love to read more with these characters. I loved everything about this book I look forward to reading more from this author.
Luna Rosa, the second book in the series, is even better than the first book, in my opinion. The characters were more likable to me. It helps that I love piano music.
Louisianna, a concert pianist meets Nick a piano tuner that composes beautiful music but hides it away. They learn to share their music, strengths and weaknesses,to make beautiful music praising God. The storyline was intriguing and the characters engaging. The appearance of a mysterious painting adds a dash of suspense to the story. Elizabeth weaves characters from other books into the book adding an enrichment because I have read all her books. Christian romance lovers will love this book.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable addition to this series, centering on music. I could relate to it easily, because of my music background, besides having a great uncle who was a piano tuner, both of which made this book even more endearing to me. This book brought back to me many memories and emotions of performing in front of others. There is an overall theme of using the gifts God has given us, instead of keeping them hidden, with God’s purpose behind our giftings – to use them to reach others for Him. And, of course, the mystery continues to lurk in this book, just whetting our appetites to try to search for hidden clues and solve it – leading to the next book in this series. A great addition to a fun series!
