Falling For the Cowgirl
Tina Radcliffe
Wow, all I can say is, why I have I never read Tina Radcliffe before? She had my emotions all over the place. Once I started reading, it was very hard to stop! The twists and turns made it impossible to put down, as I had to know what was going to happen to AJ after she kept getting shut down for being a female assistant foreman on ranches. She's very good at her job but doesn't get the respect she deserves. What an awesome story. All of Tina's characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride. As you are reading, you will find yourself cheering for all of them, praying they can work out their problems and be happy once again.
FALLING FOR THE COWGIRL is all about family and the past and the secrets that come out are heart tugging. It had me flipping through the pages like a woman on a mission. I had to know what was going to happen to Travis and AJ and all the secondary characters. Travis and his two sisters grew up in foster care and are very tight but also typical siblings. They have a ranch called Big Heart Ranch for orphaned kids to spend the summer. So when his sisters bring AJ in for the foreman job Travis is dead set against it! Poor Travis! Once you start reading FALLING FOR THE COWGIRL it will be very hard to put down!
FALLING FOR THE COWGIRL is without a doubt one of the funnest books I've read in 2018 so far. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. Mostly, they all kept me laughing but the sisters with their advice had me remembering what it was like with my older brother and sister! Sibling advice--ugghh! Tina Radcliffe is such a wonderful and heart tugging author and she had me laughing and crying on the very same page. I am now going to read all of her previous books and she has just made a new fan forever! Even though FALLING FOR THE COWGIRL is the second book in the Big Heart Ranch series, it can easily be read as a stand alone. Grab your copy today and get on the couch!

This book just solidifies my thoughts...Tina is a new favorite author!
Her romances are swoon worthy and BOY does she know how to write a hero.
There has been a running theme in the books I've been reading lately, you can really SEE the characters changing and letting God take control of their lives. And I'm not mad about it!
I loved seeing Travis' perspective and opinion of female farmhands change. His original stance was super realistic as was his change of heart.
I had so much respect for AJ. She was a woman trying to make it to the top in a VERY male oriented occupation. I admired her strength and courage. She was quick-witted and kept a solid head on her shoulders in all sorts of situations!
She was a VERY stubborn character, BUT the pieces to "why?" all came together by the end of the story. And it just shaped her into the wonderful character she was.
Tina did amazing research and I appreciated the accuracy of the horse and rodeo scenes! (The rodeo scene was probably my favorite part of the whole book.) #CowgirlAtHeart
The dialogue and banter throughout this book was WONDER.FUL. 😍 I loved the whole set-up of characters and cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series!
I rated this book a 5/5 stars!

Hiring Amanda “AJ” McAlester as his assistant at the Big Heart Ranch isn't foreman Travis Maxwell's first choice—but his sisters insist she's perfect for the job. “
With that opening line, you know you're going to see so many sparks fly it would put a firecracker to shame! These two certainly don't hit it off so well; he has old fashioned ideas on how to build a thriving self-sufficient cattle ranch while she has some rather unconventional methods and isn't afraid to suggest them. Oh I love AJ, she's feisty, independent, stubborn, and out to prove she can do anything as well as any man! Having worked ranches all her life, she's also looking to finally put down roots somewhere she can call home. Working for Big Heart Ranch is like a breath of fresh air, as long as she can keep her heart from falling for her boss. Travis is in the same boat; bullheaded as the day is long, and not easily swayed to anyone else's thinking! He certainly has enough on his plate without the distraction of a pretty lady and getting his own heart tangled up. Things start happening at the ranch that forces them in a united front and maybe just a bit of compromise.
These two are fun to watch, especially when they bandy about witty barbs!
“You make me nervous,” she admitted.
He frowned. “I do?”
“Yes.”
His eyes met hers. “If it's any consolation, you terrify me.”
See what I mean? It's stuff like this that made me laugh out loud and look forward to more from these two characters. There's a lot of layers, great second-hand characters, reminders of faith, family dynamics (annoying sisterly advice anyone?), and falling in love to read in the pages of this well written book by Tina Radcliffe to enjoy. What I love the most? Big Heart Ranch is based off a true life children's ranch in Alabama that gives these kids second chances. Now who's heart wouldn't melt at that?

”’It’s not over until the fat cow sings.’” < -- Hah!! Love the ranch humor!
Just go ahead and read it, it’s worth it! I may have liked the first book, Claiming Her Cowboy, better but this one had a better ending. There were a few little things in this one that an editor should have caught, a few things that were unbelievable or out of character, and a certain amount of “Love Inspired” hokiness (my eyeballs did the occasional roll!). There were a few things that seemed unrealistic and awkward and helped to bring my rating down: .
Okay, so most of that stuff I wrote up there doesn’t make this book sound all that promising, especially, if you read the spoilers. Oops. But here’s what you have to do, ignore all that!! Just read the book! It’s good! It’s heartwarming. Just realize going in that it’s got some typical “Love Inspired” “stuff” and it’s more “inspirational” than evangelical. The story is engaging, I read it straight through in one day, something I rarely do. The Big Heart Ranch for kids is wonderful (see my note on the first book’s review about the real life ranch that may have inspired this series) – it’s a place ”where love and the good Lord reign” !! The cast of characters are fun and they grow in their faith, the banter is witty, the romance is sappy-sweet, the humor is great and I even shed a tear or two. Can’t wait to start the third book, Christmas with the Cowboy.

Falling for the Cowgirl is a delight to read, truly. Set on the Big Heart Ranch in a small Oklahoma town, the story has a Western feel, focusing on the day-to-day ins and outs of overseeing a ranch, with some sweet interpersonal, romantic drama.
Working together proves to be no easy task for AJ Rowe and Travis Maxwell. AJ must work twice as hard and resourcefully to show her capability in a male-dominated field, while Travis often lets his pride take control in his efforts to contribute to his family-owned ranch. Each stubborn, determined, driven by the past, and in need of a lesson in trusting God, these two butt heads on more than one occasion—but not without a growing respect and admiration.
As AJ and Travis navigate through the ups and downs of working together, the romance that develops is so sweet and so fun to read. I enjoyed all the aspects of their story—it had me smiling on more than one occasion. To readers in need of a quick and enjoyable contemporary romance, it’s easy to recommend Falling for the Cowgirl.
Falling for the Cowgirl is the second book in Radcliffe’s Big Heart Ranch series. It can be read on its own, but if you’re like me (and you haven’t read it already), I’m sure you, too, will be left wanting to read Claiming Her Cowboy.

What can you do with a hero and heroine who are "...each riding a stubborn mule going in the wrong direction?" (p 208) Settle in for a an awesome reading adventure, that's what!
Travis is a wee bit annoying in a macho man kind of way. He doesn't mean to be, really...at least he catches himself after he's stuck a cowboy boot in his mouth and AJ gets riled. Mind you, she's a mite sensitive so she tends to over react. Be prepared for some fireworks and angst along with plenty of laughter as these two wrangle their way into a happily ever after.
Love this series -- the whole premise of Big Heart Ranch -- a home for orphaned, abused and neglected children is epic! This is the second book in the series but reads easily as a standalone. I love the way the author has created a real community on the ranch with memorable secondary characters and it was a joy to meet up with them again. Like the feisty old cowboy, Dutch, whose gruff exterior hides a marshmallow heart. And he's always ready with appropriate cowboy wisdom when the situation calls for it.
Not to mention Tripp...be still my heart, 'cause I'm tripping over Tripp! He's pretty much in the background of this story...you know, the strong silent type with a mysterious past. Oh...and he's a vegetarian! Eeeeppp!!! A vegetarian cowboy! I never thought I'd see the day. That's my dream come true right there and all I can say is Tripp better star in the next book or I'll be one very disgruntled reader.
My thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book.

'It would be a very long time before she got over Travis Maxwell's betrayal.'
Tina Radcliffe takes us back to Big Heart Ranch for this second in the series. Big Heart is a ranch set up to help disadvantaged children and Radcliffe has made it seem so real, the reader feels part of her setting.
Travis Maxwell and his two sisters were all in foster care and have set up the ranch to make other children feel special. It is a wonderful place. However, right now they need an assistant foreman. When A.J. Rowe shows up to interview, neither sibling knew A.J. was Amanda. Travis, in particular, is dead set against a woman in this role. His sisters vote him down, though, because A.J. has the best credentials. Travis grudgingly agrees for A.J. to take the position and soon finds out she is tops in her field. She has some really new ideas that Travis thinks will cost him, but he allows her to take her lead and soon the ranch is better for it. But is his heart on the line?
A.J. herself has some issues and never stays long any place she works. She just doesn't feel appreciated for herself, but she is beginning to believe things might be different at Big Heart Ranch. Then something happens that has her second guessing herself again. Will these two allow God to work in their lives and bring about His good plans for them?
I loved this book and read it in two days. I only recently discovered Tina Radcliffe's work and I'm a fan now for life! She creates believable characters and settings and plots. I recommend this one highly!
*My thanks to the author and publisher for an early copy of this book. All opinion stated here are entirely my own.

Falling for the Cowgirl is a highly entertaining, well-paced story with humor, snappy dialogue, character depth, and a great sense of place. How delightful to discover this gem in the Love Inspired line and Tina Radcliffe is a talented author to watch!
The setting – Big Heart Ranch in the fictional town of Timber, Oklahoma – couldn’t be more appealing. This is no ordinary ranch, for its purpose is to minister to orphaned, abused, and neglected children – a place “where love and the Lord reign.” Travis, one of three siblings who own the ranch, feels that he has to prove himself and is working to secure a grant to start a self-sustaining cattle program. From the many glimpses into all that goes into running a ranch, to the benefits of raising bison, I learned a lot about the complexities of this successful operation.
Travis and AJ are strong lead characters, easy to connect with and enjoyable to be around. In the beginning, Travis is prideful and controlling, “highly allergic to relationships,” and AJ is the perfect catalyst for change – to the ranch and him personally. AJ is a born rancher who struggles to succeed long-term in a male-dominated industry. She’s smart, innovative, and felt like she was part of something bigger than herself at Big Heart Ranch. The relationship between these two that begins as friendship and mutual respect is pure joy to watch.
Strong supporting characters add even more richness to this story, such as Dutch and Tripp, the horse whisperer. And I adored AJ’s bunkhouse roommate, Rue, a physician, retired Army general, and woman of faith. The overall spiritual theme of surrendering self will and trusting God’s perfect plan was beautifully reflected throughout the story.
Falling for the Cowgirl is a wonderfully entertaining story and I’m eager to read more of Tina Radcliffe’s stories. And I can’t wait to return to Big Heart Ranch!
Highly recommended. Within the Love Inspired line - 5 stars!

I love Tina Radcliffe’s cowboy romance books and Falling for the Cowgirl totally hit the spot! This is book 2 in the Big Heart Ranch series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. This book has all of Tina Radcliffe’s trademark goodness that makes her books enjoyable - easy-to-follow and fluid writing, nicely paced and interesting plot, flawed yet lovable characters, and solid thread of faith. If you enjoy contemporary western romance, you will love this book.
I don’t know much about ranching or horses (gasp!) or rodeo circuit but the author describes the life on an Oklahoman ranch with clarity and detail that I never got lost in the backdrop of the story. Travis is the ranch foreman and part owner who is skeptical, cynical, goal-driven, and hard- headed. He gets outvoted by his sisters (the other ranch partners) and ends up hiring AJ, an intelligent, capable, hard-working woman experienced in ranching, as the assistant foreman. AJ feels that she has a lot to prove in this male-dominated world and clash immediately with Travis. Their friendship and trust build slowly as they learn to work together for the good of the ranch. Travis has some letting go to do and AJ has some forgiving to do.
What a fun read! I can’t wait for book 3 which will focus on Emma, the youngest of the three Maxwell siblings. You’ll surely want to pick up Claiming Her Cowboy as well (book 1) to read about Lucy, the eldest Maxwell sibling.
I was given a copy of this book by the author/publisher and was not obligated to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Falling for the Cowgirl was such a fun sweet story to curl up in my reading chair with. We have two characters who do not like the preconceived notions people have about them and would much rather be seen for who they are along with their skill sets and accomplishments.
AJ McAlester is trying to find ‘home’ where she can be who she is, a cowgirl who knows her stuff. Travis is not so sure that a woman can do the job he wants done, but his two sisters, who are also his business partners have great intuition when they hire AJ. Travis is AJ’s immediate boss and he sets out to test her mettle, and what he sees impresses him. More than that, his heart is also softening towards her.
AJ is constantly trying to prove herself after the loss of both her parents and empty promises from her stepfather. I felt for her the most and I could understand why she was always running. She proved herself as an excellent worker but her one flaw was that she had built her walls so high that she really would not let anyone get close to her.
The side characters were an extra bonus, both human and animal. There is a bit of suspense as there are some modern day cattle rustlers making mischief. But my favorite part was the banter. It progressed from guarded to sassy and by the end of this read I was grinning from ear to ear.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Falling for the Cowgirl is the first book that I have read by this author, but it will definitely not be the last! I enjoyed this story so much! The setting was very interesting. I really enjoyed reading about all of the preparations that AJ and Travis were having to work on in order to apply for a special grant that the ranch needed. Their day to day lives felt very real to me.
The romantic tension in this novel was so good! These characters were attracted to each other right away, yet neither one was interested in any kind of romantic relationship. However, I appreciated the way that their actual interest in each other naturally grew as they began working together, spent time talking to each other, and basically became friends.
The author did a good job of creating back stories for both of these characters. I could appreciate the reasons why both AJ and Travis struggled with trust issues after some of the things that they had both experienced.
I enjoyed this story from start to finish and look forward to reading more books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I LOVE this book....and everything about Big Heart Ranch!
While reading Falling for the Cowgirl, I laughed, I cried, and I delighted in every page!
At Big Heart Ranch, newly hired AJ McAlester finds working for her boss, foreman Travis Maxwell, to be challenging...in many ways. Watching these two strong-headed people clash provides for great entertainment as unexpected twists in their lives occur.
I like the strength AJ demonstrates as she strives to prove her abilities. I found grumpy Travis to be quite swoon-worthy as his true heart begins to shine. All the folks on the ranch are warm and welcoming, feeling like real friends, family and co-workers. The addition of various animals adds more feel-good fun to the story.
And what an inspiring place for the setting of this series! Big Heart Ranch is based on a real ranch that provides family-style homes for children who need second chances and plenty of love. Each book tugs at my heart.
Tina Radcliffe does sparky humor, tender romance and faith-weaving so well in all her novels. This story, with the touching surprises, just may be my favorite Tina Radcliffe book....and I’d love a slice of blackberry pie...and a pair of turquoise boots!
Favorite quote: “Love and the good Lord reign here.”

I fell in love with Big Heart Ranch when I read the first book, Claiming Her Cowboy, in Tina Radcliffe's "Big Heart Ranch" series. I could hardly wait for book two, Falling for the Cowgirl, and I wasn't disappointed.
Big Heart Ranch is in need of an assistant foreman to help owner/foreman, Travis Maxwell in running the ranch. Travis is a conventional rancher wanting to hire a cowboy but his two sisters, who are also owners, insist that applicant A.J. McAlester is just right for the job, so much to Travis's dismay, his new foreman is A.J. who just happens to be a woman.
A.J. was raised on a ranch and has worked on many other ranches but due to the fact she is a woman she has never been taken seriously. This has made it very difficult for her to prove herself. She is bright, ranch savvy, bull-headed, independent, and spunky. Travis believes in the "old school" way of men running the ranch and is quite bull-headed about it. However, when things begin to happen around the ranch A.J. proves she is the right person for the job. It was fun to watch the layers of both characters fall away and reveal their true hearts.
Ms. Radcliffe has written a heartwarming story that had me laughing, crying, and cheering the characters on. I am anxiously awaiting book three in the series.
Highly recommended! 5 Stars!!!!!

Delightful Read! 5+
Tina’s writing inspires, makes you laugh, and tugs on your heart strings. I simply love her books. The interactions between Travis and AJ are adorable, I miss them already! I love how spunky AJ is 😊 You'll laugh out loud and won't want to stop reading.
This is an awesome story, which reminds me of the quote: “When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”

Another great story by Tina Radcliffe! If you love inspirational romance on a ranch, you'll love this series.
AJ has innovative ideas to help foreman Travis Maxwell win the grant money. But her ideas put the ranch at risk. Will she have to look for another job?
Travis is against hiring her from the start, but when he realizes she can get the work done, can he convince her to stay?
I enjoyed the love story between AJ and Travis. I could see his surprise when he realized AJ was a woman. It was fun to see her able to run the ranch and do the things she did. Loved her horse Gus. Falling for the Cowgirl is a great inspirational romance you won't want to miss.

Falling for the Cowgirl by Tina Radcliffe is a great read! I loved it! It is a sweet story about Amanda “AJ” McAlester and Travis Maxwell who both work at Big Heart Ranch. They are learning to work together and both battle past issues. It is a sweet story and I found myself rooting for both characters to fall in love and work through things.
I enjoyed learning about ranching, and raising bison. So many great quotes in the story like “You’re both riding a stubborn mule in the wrong direction and wondering why you don’t see eye to eye.” Loved that quote. It is a great read! I highly recommend Falling for the Cowgirl. and think your summer will not be complete without reading it. Trust me.

I knew within the first few pages that I was going to enjoy this story by Tina Radcliffe. I have already purchased the first book in this series, Claiming her Cowboy, and am looking forward to Christmas with the Cowboy, which comes out in September! Even though this is the second in this series, it easily reads well as a stand-alone.
There are so many things I enjoyed about this book. I loved the setting, the secondary characters, the pops of humor throughout, the relationship between Travis and his sisters, and how the relationship between Travis and AJ progressed throughout the book. I was immediately drawn into this book and finished quickly. I’m definitely adding Tina to my auto buy list.
4.5 stars!

I enjoyed how strong assistant foreman AJ McAlester was, she could do everything the ranch foreman Travis Maxwell could do, maybe even better. As the two learn to trust one another and their feelings, I found myself wondering what would happen next in the story. This was a great book, the first I've had a chance to read from this talented author, and it won't be my last.

Falling for the Cowgirl by Tina Radcliffe
If you had asked him, I don’t think Travis would have realized that he thought a woman couldn’t work as well as a man but underneath everything, he did start out believing that way. He was a fun character, being quite outspoken and having a short fuse, and yet he had quite a soft heart.
AJ was a woman in a male-dominated field. Despite the fact that Travis’ sisters were both completely for hiring her as assistant foreman, he was against that decision. I love the way she managed to handle so many things that he had been unable to do. She got Dutch to work morning shifts. She fired Rusty in such a way that he was actually grateful for it. Having only read about ranches, I was very surprised that AJ showed up for her interview wearing a suit. It just never even occurred to me that a cowboy would interview in anything other than jeans. What a stereotype that is, though, so I apologize to ranchers, cowboys, and cowgirls!
AJ was such a complex character. I thought it was great how it didn’t even occur to her to not speak the truth directly all the time. I admired her determination to continue working on ranches despite the problems she encountered in the past.
I loved the visit Travis and AJ took to pick up the bull they purchased. The folks on the ranch where the bull was were so fun. The way the wife kept trying to get AJ to bring home more critters than just the bull was humorous.
The idea of rustlers in this day and age seems as incongruous as the idea of pirates, yet we know that there are such things as modern-day pirates, and I imagine there are rustlers as well. It was interesting to learn that branding is is more commonly done via a tag than a branding iron. The tags, unfortunately, can be easily removed if someone had a desire to do so.
I would have liked to have learned more about the fostering aspect of the ranch. Where did the children live? Who lived with them to care for them? Where did they eat?
The romance was very sweet yet not easy, because both Travis and AJ had problems trusting others. And because AJ had very bad experiences with former bosses and co-workers wanting more than a friendly working relationship. The conflicts they had to work through made the story seem realistic and made it quite enjoyable.

This book was so wholesome and fun to read. The main lovers had tons of scenes together and the conflicts and action were written in real well.
This made my country heart so happy.
Travis is such a great guy! He was fun to get to know.
AJ was cool, too! Usually I'm annoyed by the main female characters, but Amanda Jane was legit. She wasn't whiny and she didn't do a bunch of talking herself up. She followed through with what she said she'd do.
⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️⚠️⚠️
I wondered why AJ was so set on leaving the ranch after Travis blew up on her about the escaped bison. He said he was sorry and I just didn't think it was that big of a deal for her to leave like it was before when AJ said she had to leave a job because of some nasty rumors. 🤷🏻♂️
There were so many cute scenes and good lines from Travis. I loved when Travis saved AJ's horse Gus from the slaughterhouse. This book was AWESOME.
So glad I read it.
CUTE PARTS:
“I’m willing to do anything if you’ll give me another chance.”
“I thought that was my line,” he said. “I guess we’re at an impasse.” “I think I can see to the other side of this, except I’ve got one small problem.”
“Oh?”“I’m pretty sure I’m in love with you, Amanda.”
"What? You can’t be in love with me.”
"Why not?”
"I’m your assistant foreman.”
"Could I fire you and tell you I love you and then rehire you?”
She burst out laughing. “That’s the craziest thing I ever heard.”
Travis stepped closer and slipped his arms around her waist.
"You’re fired.”
He settled his lips on hers for a long, lingering kiss.
🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️😭😭
“How’d you get here so fast?” she asked, last night’s argument set aside for now.
"Are you kidding? When Dutch told me what you were up to, I couldn’t believe it. I nearly killed myself running across the gravel to the stable barefoot. Do you have a death wish? What if one of those guys has a rifle?”
⬆️
(I'm a SUCKER for the he-cares-about-her-safety-and-wants-to-protect-her trope)🥺😭❤️
“You kissed me.”-AJ
"Yeah. No one in Pawnee knows you’re my assistant foreman.” -Travis
When Travis was proposing to AJ:
“Try to be patient with me. I told you that I’ve never had a boyfriend before.” -AJ
“And if I have my way, you never will.” -Travis
“It’s a diamond. And it’s huge. I don’t wear diamond rings.”
"Yeah, and you don’t dance, and you don’t dream. I remember. I remember.” He sighed. “We’re going to start working on turning all your don’ts into dos.” 🥺🥺❤️
“Now could you kiss me?”-AJ
“Yes, ma’am.”-Travis
Another Love Inspired romance that just made my month ☺️

AJ Rowe is the kind of employee any ranch owner would want. Experienced with horses, possessing an incredible work ethic and having a mind that allows quick thinking and wise decisions. Just the person that Travis Maxwell and his two sisters are looking for to fill their need for an assistant ranch foremen. Yes, AJ seems perfect except for the fact that the initials AJ stand for Amanda Jane and this cowboy is a cowgirl! Travis immediately rejects her application but he is overruled by his sisters and AJ becomes the newest member of the Big Heart Ranch staff. Her previous jobs have demanded extra efforts for her to prove herself and she accepts that this job will be no different. She is determined to do her very best to fulfill the mission statement of this special place that is dedicated to providing a home for ophaned, abused and neglected children.
From the beginning it is apparent that Travis and AJ share an incredible chemistry but both are carrying around past hurts that they can't seem to shed. Several times the barriers begin to come down and then something happens to cause them to retreat and once again readers face the possibility that there is no future for this special couple. I loved the scenes when they are struggling with their feelings and some of the conversations are both heart-warming and heart-breaking! In one scene Travis tells AJ "I trust you. It's me I'm having issues with" and AJ replies "You need to turn it over to the Lord, Travis. Your value isn't measured by whether or not this grant comes through. Just like it isn't measured by your face on a magazine cover."
I recommend Falling for the Cowgirl to anyone who enjoys Christian romance because Tina Radcliffe has created a book that has it all! The romantic scenes between Travis and AJ will definitely increase your pulse rate. Great secondary characters supply depth to the story and the plot includes deception, theft, honesty and loyalty. The setting of the Big Heart Ranch adds the perfect touch and I can't wait to read the third book in this Big Heart Ranch series!

This is a good story about two people with separate goals who have to overcome personal prejudices in order to succeed. Travis Maxwell wants to think he’s a modern man until he’s confronted with his own opinions about women doing what he considers man’s work, only AJ McAlester has the skills he needs to run the ranch and help him move it into the sustainable category to qualify for a needed grant. AJ has lost every ranching jobs she’s had for one unreasonable anti-woman reason after another and when she’s given a three-month trial at Big Heart she’s determined to prove that she’s up to the job. Travis has a fear of women running his life and AJ fears being run off the job. Can they come to terms and work together? But for how long?
I love this story because men who think woman can’t do certain jobs are common and it is a pleasure to read about someone (even though she’s fictional) that overcomes the stigma and is seen for her real value. Also, the heroine is not a toughened, hard core individual. Even though she tries hard to overcome odds she’s still sensitive, and we see her emotionally wounded.
This is another wonderful story from Tina Radcliffe with her signature sharp wit and humor.

This was a fun story about a cowgirl looking for a place to call home and a stubborn and prideful cowboy who just might be that place. AJ was a tough, smart, determined woman and I really admired her strength and that she stood up for herself and with a little bit of sass! She really gave Travis a run for his money and there were a lot of amusing scenes and fun banter between them, and with the other ranch hands. She had some interesting ideas to make the ranch successful in winning a grant proposal. They were both Christians and struggled with trusting God; they both had had to deal with losing family and feeling abandoned. Travis struggled more with pride and needing to prove his worth through his success while AJ kept people at arm's length so she wouldn't get hurt again. There was a little bit of romance as they navigated working together but falling for each other and not wanting to mess up the working relationship. There was also some excitement as cattle rustlers show up and there's a rodeo! This worked fine as a stand-alone although it's book two. I would recommend it if you like romance, cowboy or ranch stories.

I really enjoyed this book! I am a fan of the Love Inspired line and this book was no exception. I loved the romantic dynamics between Travis and AJ and I enjoyed the family dynamics between Travis and his sisters. I liked the opening scene where Travis's sisters were pushing to hire a female assistant foreman. I liked watching Travis's pre-conceived notions about that female foreman turn to admiration and respect. I also liked that this book was set on a ranch which is run to help children of abuse, abandonment, and neglect rather than just a normal ranch setting. The romantic tension between Travis and AJ was great! I liked that AJ held her ground and was true to herself and that Travis came to appreciate those things about her. It was so fun to see when the realization hit both Travis and AJ that they had feelings for each other. I liked that the ranch employees liked AJ and had her back. This is the second book in the Big Heart Ranch series but can easily be read as a stand alone novel. I am looking forward to the next book in the series! If you like contemporary Christian fiction, I highly recommend this book! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. This is the second book in what I hope is a long series set at the Big Heart Ranch. It can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series. Ranch foreman Travis Maxwell needs an assistant and his sisters convince him to give very qualified AJ a chance for a trial period even though he doesn't expect a woman to be to able to do the job. I loved the reality of a woman needing to prove her ability to do a traditionally "man's" job and the other characters reactions to a woman as assistant foreman (or should it be foreperson?). ThIs story focused more on the ranch operations than the children's ranch so there weren't any child characters like Dub from "Claiming Her Cowboy" (book 1) to fall in love with. I learned a lot about ranching as Tina Radcliffe is very descriptive. It's easy to imagine the town, ranch, and the daily activities of the characters. It's a great story!
I also enjoyed "Claiming Her Cowboy" about Travis' sister Lucy. I'm looking forward to the next book "Christmas with the Cowboy" about Travis' sister Emma.
I received a copy of this book for free but was under no obligation to review it.

Yes, I read it all in one sitting, I am sad that it's over, and I can't wait for the next book in this series. In traditional Tina Radcliffe style, the author has penned a sweet romance with enough conflict to make me want to strangle the characters at times, enough humor to make me laugh out loud and enough cowboys to be deemed swoon worthy. Travis just wanted someone to help him get the grant Big Heart Ranch needs to boost its fledgling cattle herd. A.J. just wanted a job where she could be judged on her merits as a ranch foreman instead of not taken seriously because of her gender. When they met, neither wanted a romance, but it happened anyway, despite their efforts to push it aside. Throw in a ranch hand that might be a chef, two meddling but lovable sisters, rodeo belt buckles, a beloved horse named Gus and an evil stepbrother. That equation adds up to a great read in Falling for the Cowgirl. Whether this is your first Radcliffe book or the most recent of many, it definitely won't be your last.

Take one feisty, independent, hard-working cowgirl and one slightly chauvinistic, set-in-his-ways hunky cowboy; throw them together and watch the sparks fly—in more ways than one. With lots of witty banter, head-butting, and intrigue, Tina Radcliffe’s writing pulled me right in and kept me turning pages. Her realistic, engaging, wounded characters came to life on the page and made me feel as if I knew them. I loved the setting on Big Heart Ranch, which the Maxwell siblings run for orphans and neglected, abused children. It sounds like just the place to heal those wounded hearts, and if it can heal a few of the adults’ hearts as well, then all the better! A tender message of faith, forgiveness, and hope runs through the story and gives it an added dimension. This is the second in the Big Heart Ranch series, but it can be read as a stand-alone book. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
