The Rancher's Rescue

Cari Lynn Webb

THE RANCHER'S RESCUE is the story of Grace who does the books for Blackwell Ranch. Ethan Blackwell, who just happens to be Grace's sister's ex boyfriend, is a man who Grace spent the night with. It was the night her sister, Sarah Ashley, got married. Hold on people, it's going to be a very bumpy but funny ride! Oh, Sarah did not marry Ethan!

THE RANCHER'S RESCUE is the second book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. All of the books are written by different authors and I can't wait to continue this series. Cari Lynn Webb writes about characters that become real right before your eyes. All of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I've known them for a long time. THE RANCHER'S RESCUE is a heart tugging and wonderful tale and I loved it. I loved how Ethan was very protective of Grace but hated that he wanted to leave her to take care of her. Confused? Read the story, you will not regret it! I soon found myself cheering for Grace every time I turned the page.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading THE RANCHER'S RESCUE. It is funny and heart warming and filled with so many different emotions. There is so much going on in this story, but Cari Lynn Webb does a wonderful job of weaving all the pieces together. All of the characters will have you feeling sad and then giggling on the same page. More than once I wanted to be on that ranch teasing the chickens and running from the llamas! The ending was perfect and had me laughing out loud! Once you finish devouring this story, you are going to want to tell everyone you know about this awesome book.

This is my second visit to Blackwell Ranch to meet the family and find out how and if they are going to save the ranch. This is Ethan's story. When Ethan returns to Falcon Creek to attend Sarah Ashley's wedding, who just happens to be his ex, he has an encounter with Grace, her sister. Unbeknownst to him, Grace is now pregnant. He comes back to the ranch at the request of his brother Jon and when he and Grace meet up, their attraction to one another bubbles to the surface. Can these two make a go of a relationship? Will they admit their feelings to one another?

This series has five books and each are written by a different author. The first two fit together so well, you would never know they were not written by the same person. Cari Lynn Webb's characters are so realistic. They are believable and I found myself talking to them as I read this book. This book is a heartwarming story with just the right amount of angst and worries. I was cheering for both Ethan and Grace knowing that they would be perfect together if only they could overcome their hurdles. There is a lot going on in this story with some side lines that were woven together very well. I enjoyed the fact that the characters from the first book made appearances and were like old friends. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. If you like a romance with fun, worries, a few hurdles and a happy ever after, you need to pick up this book, in fact start with the first one as you won't want to miss reading about any of the Blackwell brothers. I requested this book from the author and was fortunate that my request was granted. The rating, opinions and ideas shared are my own.

I am really loving this series! Each book is about a different Blackwell brother and each book is written by a different author which gives the brothers distinct personalities. There is continuity because each brother is entering the story at a different time for specific reasons so the story keeps growing and the characters from previous books remain as secondary characters. It's so good!

Ethan has definite ideas about where he wants his life to be and it isn't at the Blackwell ranch. He is stubborn and he fights so hard against anything and everything to do with staying there. And then there is Grace, who wants nothing more than to stay right where she is forever. Grace works so hard and is so dedicated to her family. I really loved her.

I thought the story moved along at a good pace and I was interested and invested the whole time. I'm so excited to read about the next brother! That book is coming next month for me so stay tuned! These books would make a fun TV series, I think.

Content: reference to intimate relations outside of marriage leading to pregnancy with no details. Clean romance, some kissing.

I received a copy of the book from the author for my honest review.

What an enjoyable and fast paced read! I loved every minute of it and hated to see it end.

Ethan returns home to help his brother try to save the Blackwell Ranch. His grandfather has disappeared with Ethan's ex-fiance who he married a few years earlier. The brothers cannot find the funds to run the ranch. Ethan hires Grace his ex-fiance's sister to help sort out all the bills and the money to see where they stand. Grace has a secret that she does not want anyone to know. Ethan is attracted to Grace but does not want to stay in Falcon Creek. Will he leave or follow his heart? A heartwarming story that will melt your heart.

This was a fun story to read! I love it when a woman is suddenly pregnant and she thinks that by waiting to tell the father it is going to "magically" make things better or easier on the situation. It never happens that way. I liked these characters. They were real, flawed but oh so enjoyable! Gracie was a little to headstrong for me....she could have leaned on Ethan a little bit! I know there was a lot of history between her, Ethan and their families but still, she didn't need to be so "standoffish" at times! I liked her better as the book progressed! I liked Ethan but he too, was way too focused on leaving town and I felt he didn't even once consider being a father to his child! It was a very good story though. I loved seeing the character development though because Gracie and Ethan weren't really in love at first but I enjoyed watching their feelings change and grow! I would recommend this book - you'll enjoy it!!!
I was delighted to receive this book complimentary from the author but was not required to review it. My opinions are my own.

THE RANCHER'S RESCUE is book 2 in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. I have to say that each of these books can be read as a stand alone but work better when read in order. I loved all these characters, getting to meet them through each book is so awesome. This is the second story in the series and we get to know Ethan. Ethan is such a well written and realistic character that by the time you finish this story you'll want to meet him in person. I loved watching Ethan deal with the past and what he wants out of the future, and dealing with Grace and all that she reveals. Fans of the Heartwarming line are sure to adore this new story from author Cari Lynn Webb. Fans of great stories with well developed engaging characters and a story-line that leaves you eager for more are going to want to grab this story NOW. I highly recommend THE RANCHER'S RESCUE to one and all. I can't wait to read more from author Cari Lynn Webb!

What would you do if you were saddled with debt and jobless even though you are a licensed veterinarian but not in the state where you just found out that your ex-girlfriend’s sister was having your baby and you know she would never consider leaving the state where you’re not licensed to practice even though you vowed you’d never return to said state unless it was to sit through the reading of your grandfather’s Will but meanwhile you’ve been called back there because your beloved brother needs your help to try to save your grandfather’s ranch that you grew up on but that your grandfather has run off and abandoned leaving behind mounting debts that you’re not in a position to shore up and the only person who can help you to access some of your grandfather’s assets to temporarily save the ranch is one of his ex-wives who is a judge that grandpa was married to for five days who you believe still hates you for blowing out her truck’s tires when you were a kid and who refers to you as “Day Two” but who you need help from desperately because you don’t want to let your brother down in his time of need?

Are you still with me? Welcome to Ethan Blackwell’s life. He’s got a lot going on, but he’s not willing to stay in Falcon Creek longer than what’s necessary to help his brother. But what about Grace Gardner and his baby dilemma? Someone has to be willing to compromise, but neither seems likely to budge on their convictions. Will Ethan “stop running” and find that what he’s looking for is right in front of him? And will Grace recognize Ethan’s true feelings and get to fulfill her dreams in the only place she’s destined to call home?

I loved this book!! The fully fleshed-out characters endear you to this series. I liked the build up to Ethan’s finding out he was going to be a father, along with the suspense of learning how Grace’s sister, Sarah Ashley, would react to the news that her sister is carrying her ex-boyfriend’s baby. I didn’t know what to expect but the way the author tidies up all of these seemingly impossible scenarios was truly impressive. And again, those characters!! Judge Myrna Edwards was one of my favorites. The way the scene played out between her and Ethan put a smile on my face. I can’t provide any more details because I don’t want to give too much away. And that epilogue! 😂

All I can say is I am enjoying this series to the point that I’ve thrust aside a couple of other reading commitments to squeeze this one in because I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I’m so enjoying this multi-author Return of the Blackwell Brothers series from Harlequin Heartwarming! In this second installment we get to know Ethan, summoned by his desperate brother Jon to return home and help save their grandfather’s ranch. I have so many questions about Elias (grandfather) and why he’s taken off so irresponsibly, leaving the ranch with mounting bills to pay and no access to his bank accounts. In each book we get a little teaser of where he is and what he’s been up to, and each one makes me even more intrigued by this connecting story arc.

As for Ethan, he’s determined to stay no longer than the one month he promised Jon, a vow that is tested when he learns the surprising news that he’s about to be a father. Both Ethan and Grace (the mother-to-be) are very likable & authentically flawed characters who need to learn to allow other people to share their burdens. I loved them as individuals and I loved them especially together because they brought out the best in each other. Ethan is, at heart, a protector and a care-r and both of those instincts come out full force when Grace is around – especially once he knows she’s carrying his baby. Grace, for her part, isn’t used to any one taking care of her and there is a bit of a learning curve as they both try to navigate each other’s independent personalities and stubborn ideas.

Bottom Line: This is a very sweet and romantic story of two longtime friends who each have separate obstacles – and one tiny shared life – to settle before happily-ever-after can be theirs for the taking. There are lots of cute moments, some swoony ones, and even some times when I giggled out loud. The cast of supporting characters is just as delightful as Ethan and Grace are, and the intriguing developments in Big E’s disappearance continue to keep me eagerly waiting for the next installment. A truly enjoyable story from start to finish!

“The Rancher’s Rescue” by Cari Lynn Webb is book 2 of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers continuity.

Ethan Blackwell returns home to Falcon Creek to help keep the Blackwell Ranch afloat. He doesn’t intend to stay—he has an equine veterinary career to launch and debts to pay. He doesn’t count on Grace Gardner, the woman he spent the night with months earlier after attending a wedding, to make him doubt his life plan.
Grace has intentions to start her own accounting business while continuing to help with the family business. She intends to raise her baby alone because she knows Ethan isn’t home to stay, even though she can’t help but want more with him.
Ethan and Grace are continually drawn to each other, while not wanting to admit that what they truly want is the love of the other.

“The Rancher’s Rescue” proves you can still have what you want, just not in the way you expect.

Ms. Webb crafts a story with a cast of well-drawn characters and shows us the heart and soul of life is the love of family.
This reader will be on the look-out for more books from this author.

Oh, this was such a good story and a great addition to the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series! The Rancher’s Rescue is book two of the series, yet reads beautifully as a standalone, as well.

I really enjoyed reading about these two characters, Ethan and Grace, who find themselves expecting a child as a result of one night together three months earlier. It was interesting to see how each of them handled the impending arrival, both emotionally and intellectually.

Ethan, especially, had a lot of baggage to overcome from his past. These things made committing to love anyone a challenge and almost cost him his chance at true love and a family of his own.

I am really enjoying this series and look forward to the next book.

Ethan Blackwell has a plan for his life and when he’s done straightening out his grandfather’s financial mess, he’s going to get back to it. When Grace Brewster tells him that he’s going to be a father, his need to get his own financial situation and career stabilized.

Cari Lynn Webb takes some of the people introduced in the first book in this series (The Rancher’s Twins by Carol Ross) and builds on them flawlessly. Readers get to meet most of the Brewster clan and Lydia, John, and the twins also make an appearance. And oh boy, Ethan with his nieces is going to melt your heart a little bit!

While Ethan and Grace never deny their attraction for each other, there are plenty of obstacles for them to overcome. It will take some tough love, soul searching, and a little bit of a miracle for Ethan to let go of his plan and follow his heart—even if it does take him long enough.

I really like the premise of this series Return of the Blackwell Brothers: five different authors each weaving a story about one specific Blackwell brother while creating a bigger overarching theme on a ranch in Falcon Creek, Montana. I’ve never read any of these authors before so it’s an extra treat to discover new-to-me authors. This second book in the series can totally be read as a stand-alone. The oldest brother Jonathon, from the first book, has a prominent role in this book but you don’t need Jonathon’s backstory to fully get immersed in Ethan’s story.
Ethan is a reliable, tender, and gentle vet who has been called home by his oldest brother to help out with their family’s ranch. Their grandfather who has been running the ranch has disappeared and they’re at a loss in trying to figure out how to save the ranch from financial ruin. Grace is a sweet, meek, reliable, efficient, and dependable accountant who is having Ethan’s baby. Throw into this precarious friendship/relationship Grace’s insecurity of her worth, Ethan’s emotional baggage from being orphaned at a young age and being raised by a grandfather who has had multiple failed marriages, and Ethan’s dismal financial status, and we have a well-written story full of surprises and memorable characters who tug at the heartstrings. There are definitely more poignant childhood memories embedded into Ethan’s story than Jonathon’s and it’s fun to have my reader’s view of the five Blackwell brothers expand little by little with each story I finish. I can’t wait to delve into Ben’s story next and see how similar or different he is compared to his twin Ethan.

This second book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series does not disappoint. In The Rancher’s Rescue, Cari Lynn Webb easily builds a story for Ethan Blackwell and Grace Gardner within the context established in Carol Ross’s The Rancher’s Twins. Their story is a sweet romance with lovable characters, daunting obstacles, and great attraction and chemistry, and I had a lot of fun seeing it all play out. It’s a wholly enjoyable read!

Once again, I’m left eager to keep reading more of the series! (Don’t worry if you haven’t read The Rancher’s Twins—you can still enjoy The Rancher’s Rescue on its own; though, I do recommend the whole series so far.)

Reviewed at Lovin'A Cowboy Romance

Sometimes it’s hard to see the “great thing” right in front of you when you’re focusing on that promise of a “fantastic thing” somewhere else. Meet Ethan Blackwell, newly minted veterinarian, up to his eyebrows in school debt, a loner with a specific dream, a brother who doesn’t want to return home for several valid reasons… including the memories of his fiasco of a non-wedding day. Yet, in spite of his desire to never set foot in Falcon Creek ever again, except for fast visits, Ethan has answered the call for help from his brother Jon. He’ll give his brother one month to help figure out how to save his grandfather’s family ranch… especially since the old coot took off to places unknown without leaving anyone access to the funds to pay the bills and keep the ranch afloat in his absence. One Month, tops… until life took a turn on Ethan, and what he discovers he really wants is closer to home than he ever imagined.

One night shouldn’t have the power to change a life. Yet, one night was all it took to rearrange Grace’s priorities, capture her heart and make a few vows that might be difficult to keep. Especially since Ethan is back in town, for the moment at least. While Grace is willing to use her magic with numbers to help the Blackwell family figure out how to save the ranch – the secret she’s carrying has to factor in as well. She doesn’t “need” anyone, but Ethan has the right to know that their one night changed lives, and created another.

The Rancher’s Rescue moves the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series smoothly from where we left this complex family in The Rancher’s Twins. I say that because I was impressed at how easily another author picked up the overall story so seamlessly as she moved into her own tale about Ethan and his particular part in the family dynamics. I read a lot of series, and it’s rare to find a one author series move so easily from one story to the next – so when I see that in a multi-author series, I’m not afraid to say I’m impressed by that talent. Ethan and Grace. It’s hard to imagine two more stubborn, hard-headed, independent people on the face of the planet. Each has their reasons, there is more than a little shared family history between them, yet there is also a spark of something that could and will grow into a love worth taking a risk on. But they have to get past their stubbornness first.

Secondary characters add so much to a story for me. In fact, I’m often as caught up in a sub-storyline as I am the main one. I fell in love with Pop – and I certainly hope we run into him again one day.

The Rancher’s Rescue captured my attention and my heart from the beginning til the last word. The story and characters are smoothly written, completely believable and I certainly was intrigued by the mystery thread woven through this series. If you love a good Romance with interesting, believable characters, seeing two stubborn, independent people realize that they are better together than apart… then you’ll love this story, and this series. I’d not hesitate to recommend The Rancher’s Rescue, and I’m about to dive into The Rancher’s Redemption.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

Big E (Elias Blackwell) left the Blackwell Ranch in financial difficulties, took off in his RV with his extravagant fifth wife, Zoe, and nobody in Falcon Creek nor any of his grandsons knows where he is. Big E and his mysterious disappearance is the thread that holds this “continuity series” together.

Jon, as related in The Rancher’s Twins, is the only one of the Blackwell brothers remaining in the area. He has a full time job with his own ranch, twin daughters, and a new wife. He does what he can to keep the Blackwell Ranch above water, but calls in brother Ethan, a newly graduated veterinarian, to troubleshoot various problems including the opening of the Blackwell Guest Ranch and gaining access to more of Big E’s funds to meet expenses.

In The Rancher’s Rescue, Ethan arrives in Falcon Creek and is surprised to learn that the quiet and reliable Grace Gardner is carrying his child. Both Grace and Ethan must come to grips with what a baby means to them, their career goals, and their families. Will love play a part in their decisions about the future?

The first book in this series, The Rancher’s Twins, has a lot of action and cute five year old twins. The main characters are obviously dealing with serious issues in their backgrounds. The Rancher’s Rescue is more subdued. There is less action, fewer events, and more soul searching by the main characters as they waffle back and forth without talking anything out with each other. They have important decisions to make, but they aren’t being honest with each other or themselves. At times it almost feels like Hamlet’s soliloquy on continuous repeat. At other times the plot and interaction are quite enjoyable. The last third of the book is the most interesting as other characters intervene and force a confrontation. Things begin to happen quickly and a resolution occurs.

Author Cari Lynn Webb brings in interesting supporting characters like Katie, manager of the Blackwell Ranch; Judge Myrna Edwards, second wife of Big E—for five days; and Sarah Ashley, Grace’s sister who was Ethan’s high school sweetheart. I appreciate that there were no characters competing for Grace or Ethan romantically. That is a complication that would not have added to the plot: a triangle is not always of benefit to a romance novel.

As in the first book in the series, there is an epilogue that focuses on Big E, and this one holds a huge surprise! Although The Rancher’s Rescue is not as much of a page turner as the first book in the series, it is well-written and I enjoyed it. It also segues nicely into the next book, The Rancher’s Redemption.

I would like to extend my thanks to the author, Cari Lynn Webb for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

ETHAN BLACKWELL WAS surrounded by critically ill checking accounts.

Ethan was born to be a veterinarian. From the time he was very little he loved to be around animals and had an inborn instinct for how to help them. He never thought of doing anything with his life other than caring for animals.

I experienced a number of emotions as I read this book. At first, I liked Ethan and felt bad for him as he was having to deal with the mess his grandfather had left at the ranch. Then I was a bit appalled at Ethan as he discovered that he had gotten Grace pregnant. It almost seemed like he resented the fact she was still pregnant and hadn’t done anything about it. Nothing was specifically said about that – it was just the way he reacted. But he eventually won me over as I saw him interact with his nieces, saw his kindness towards the people of the town who came to him for help with their pets, and the way he ended up desiring to make things right and care for Grace and the baby.

The story was both humorous and heartwarming. I enjoyed the writing style and the way the author made it known that Ethan was wanting to swear and yet didn’t even use fake swear words to convey that. (I hate swearing in books and I think I hate the fake swear words or the use of *** to mask the intention equally as much!)

Grace was so lovely. She felt like the ugly duckling among her two swan sisters and also felt unappreciated and yet that the burden of keeping the family store running well was on her shoulders. I enjoyed watching her interactions with her family and the changes in Sarah Ashley.

Near the beginning of the story, I felt the over-emphasis of Grace’s fears and Ethan’s resentment that he was stuck in town was frustrating. I got it and didn’t need to have them reiterated as much as they were. But this didn’t continue and I really began to enjoy the story and by the end was smiling and very glad I read it.

First, let me say that yes, this book can be read as a standalone however it IS a part of a series about the Blackwell Brothers and this story is about brother #2, Ethan Blackwell. The best part, for me, were the little (what will become clues and inside stories between the brothers and others) Easter egg gems that I started to notice now that I’ve read book two. It’s not necessary to know what they are; it’s just very enjoyable to be able to groan and know that it means there’s trouble ahead, and much teasing, for this particular brother, as it was for the one before him.

Ethan Blackwell comes back to Falcon Creek, a place he swore to never see again, to help his brother Jon – and his family – straighten out a huge mess created by his grandfather up and leaving the “family” farm without direction or resources. He plans to get in and get right back out again; I won’t retell the story but let’s say that Ethan is NOT happy to be back. He runs into Grace Gardner, sister to an old flame of his, and Grace is definitely a hometown girl.

Both Grace and Ethan have such deep hurts and events in their backgrounds they need to overcome before they can trust and love one another. Their story is fully of ups and downs, and craziness, and sometimes just plain fun. I loved Pops, Grace’s grandfather. He was just the right blend of I-can-get-away-with-anything-cuz-I’m-old and snarky ‘n’ sneaky. He is just a hoot. And insightful. He will make you smile. And then laugh because he comes up with the best remarks that speak of much love and wisdom. Grace’s parents are pretty terrific, too, and (most of the time!) I’d love to be related to them as well. Grace is a lucky woman.

The story is all about Ethan working out being back in Falcon Creek, getting reacquainted with his family and Grace learning that she is strong enough to sometimes rely on others. Really loved their story! I don’t consider this a spoiler as it doesn’t tell you much but my favorite lines were: “Can I borrow $25?” “Can I borrow ANOTHER $25??” Loved this book, really loving the series, and can’t wait for the next one!

4 1/2 STARS!

One night leads to forever! With the next book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series, Cari Lynn Webb brings us Ethan's story. He's been away getting his eduction, and agrees to come home to help while they search for Big E, but he has his own problems simmering on the back burner and drama yet to unfold to look forward to! He and Grace make a really sweet couple, so watching their relationship develop is really enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book soon!

Newly minted equestrian veterinarian Ethan Blackwell doesn't really have time to be wasting visiting his old stomping ground, but when his brother Jon puts out a call for help figuring out the finances and running their grandfather's ranch until they can figure out where the old coot has disappeared to, he figures he can't put off the trip. He needs to be back on the road and hunting for that perfect job soon though!

Grace Gardner is always the one her family and the town turn to when they need something from their family ranch supply store. She has dreams of starting her own business, but they keep getting pushed to the way side. Now she's just discovered she's pregnant and really needs to accomplish her dreams so she can give her child a good life ... but first she has to tell Ethan he's going to be a daddy!

Ethan Blackwell has come back home when he's informed his grandfather has left in his RV with his (5th?) wife in order to help his brothers save the ranch. Doing so means he has to put on hold his plan to find a vet job with an equine program.

Grace Gardner, little sister of Ethan's ex-, is shocked that Ethan has come back after being invited to his sister's wedding. When he asks her help figuring out how badly the ranch is in danger of bankruptcy, each of them has to contend with how they feel about the other. But what is really at issue is how and when Grace will give him news she's certain he'll think falls into the "bad" category: she's pregnant with his baby after a post-wedding evening of fun and loving.

She's right: he's not happy with the news, but she refuses his immediate offer to marry her. She wants love, not a resentful spouse forced into what she's certain would be a loveless marriage. How each of them comes to term with his desire to move to Kentucky after he's offered the kind of position he's always dreamed of, and with her plan to open her own business, complete with a house where she can live with the baby she intends to have even as she sees clients in what is now the living room forms the rest of the story--but only after her parents discover her pregnancy before Grace and Ethan tell them. Realistic and fun.

This is the second story in the series and features Ethan Blackwell, or Day 2 as one resident calls him. (I loved this part and giggled out loud). He comes home to run the family guest ranch and to take some pressure off his older brother Jon. He had been in town a few months before and he now has some unfinished business with Grace, the little sister of his high school girlfriend.
The main characters in this book were fine- realistic and well rounded, however, the cast of supporting characters were great! I loved Grace’s mom and Pops, and the judge! What characters! They added a lot to the story!
I spent a lot of this book yelling at the characters in my head as they weren’t communicating. I guess the author did a great job as they were driving me crazy! The book got infinitely better for me once Ethan blurted out his problems.
The setting of this story is great and I really love the fictional town. It seems like a great place to live and grow up.
The one regret I had about thus book was that the couple from the last book only made one short appearance. I would have loved to have seen what Nanny Fantastic could do with this couple!
Thank you to the author for the free copy in exchange for an honest opinion. I really enjoyed the book!

A sweet, heartwarming story fills the pages of this book. Ethan and Grace are perfectly matched and their history and reconnection makes this story truly enjoyable. Together they make each other stronger. The main characters are the highlight, but the secondary cast of characters are equally strong. Returning to the Blackwell Ranch and catching up with Jon and his girls was fun. Then there’s Katie, the Blackwell Ranch’s foreman who never stops to take a breath. Grace’s sister was also interesting. Judge Myrna makes you smile with her reference to the Blackwell brothers as Day One and Day Two. My favourite character was Pops. You’ll want to sit on the porch, play some chess, and listen to his stories. A bonus surprise takes place near the end where Big E finally makes an appearance and though the scene is short, his presence jumps out on the pages. The story line is well written, and the flow is seamless from the first book to the second. Though this is the second book in the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series, each book stands alone on their own, but I recommend reading them in order just to get acquainted with the cast and the town of Falcon Creek. Looking forward to book three, The Rancher’s Redemption. Rating 4.5 Stars. Reviewed for Still Moments Magazine.

Solid 4.5 Star
Ethan begrudgingly is back to see what he can do to help save the family farm after Elias skips town without a word and leaves behind a farm with an identity crisis due to Elias's young wife's ideas. Ethan doesn't have time for family drama when he is so close to getting his equine veterinary career off the ground so he is hoping to get in then out so he can move on with his life. Ethan didn't expect Grace to put a speed bump in his plans and Grace wasn't expecting to have one of the Blackwell brothers about to become a major part of her life. I love how the characters are real, they are flawed, they make mistakes and most of all just want to be happy and it is due to this that you can not help but fall in love with this series and all those with in it...well maybe not Elias though. Even though each book in this series is written by a different author they just flow naturally together and the characters retains the same characteristic in each book and hooks you even more into their stories.

This book is book two in the Blackwell Brother's series. What I like the most about this series is that each book is written by a different author. So this way you can read a new to you author if you haven't read any of these author's in this series. And maybe get a different vibe for each brother from another author. In this book two, Ethan and Grace are the main stars.

What I liked the most about Ethan was the fact that he had No intentions of staying in Falcon Creek, you could tell how much he loved his brothers and that his family mattered to him. Ethan has returned for his brothers wedding and one night with Grace will change his life forever.

I liked Grace. I thought she was strong and independent. She definitely knew what she wanted.

I was a little worried about how the flow of this story would fit with the flow of the first book, since this series is being written by multiple authors. But I thought it worked very well for this book. You could still feel the family connections and even the drama.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!

This is part of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series. You can read them as stand alone books. I couldn't because each book I read made me want to continue with the next brother. The Rancher's Rescue is Ethan Blackwell and Grace Gardners story.

Ethan came home to help the family ranch after his grandfather leaves without telling anyone. He hadn't planned on coming back but the ranch is in trouble and the brothers are trying to save it. Ethan is a veterinarian, not an accountant, so he asks Grace to help him out.

Grace has dreams of opening her own business and knows Ethan is not home to stay. They spent one night together after her sister's wedding and she is now pregnant. As they work through the ranch's records, they are drawn closer together.

I have enjoyed reading this series. I love the story line and the secondary characters. The townspeople won't let Ethan go easily. The book is filled with humor.

I received this as an advanced reader copy and this is a voluntary review. It didn't impact my scoring, all comments are my own.

Who doesn't love a good cowboy love story. While at first the story starts off strong and sucks you in, I wish that they would not have tip toed around the same issues for almost the whole book, it seemed that they each had there own goals but wouldn't discuss with each other what they really wanted. I did really love how Grace was looking to find her self and how her sister was also on the same journey. I really enjoyed how Ethan loved his family and no matter what happened with his grandfather did he was willing to be there for his brothers and his nieces. I loved Pops and the small town of Falcon Creek and the fun characters in the book. This book is a good clean read and overall I really have enjoyed this series so far and really can't wait too see where the brothers and what there futures hold.

This is the second book in the multi-authored Blackwell Brothers series and I am very impressed with the seamless transition between the first two books and predict that it will continue. This is my first book by Cari Lynn Webb and like a few of my favorite HH authors, I enjoyed her writing style. Again, I am in love with a Blackwell brother, this time being Ethan Blackwell, the veterinarian. As Ethan struggles with his desire to leave his roots behind and pursue his career outside of Falcon Creek, he is also tempted by responsibility and affection for Grace. The story was realistic with entertaining characters and some sweetly poignant moments. Especially when Ethan has his a-ha moment after the birth of horse Butterscotch's colt. A wonderfully written romance and inclusion in the Blackwell series.

I enjoyed reading this story and especially enjoyed the main characters Ethan and Grace.

This is book 2 of the Return of the Blackwell Brothers which is the continuing saga of what has happened to Big E and if the ranch is going to survive his disappearance. Ethan is brother number 2 and comes back to help his older brother Jon.

Grace is an old family friend of the Blackwell family and works at her parents local shop in town. Grace is a hard worker and tries to balance her pregnancy and complicated relationship with her sister and Ethan through out the story. I really liked reading about Grace and Ethan’s friendship and how she balances her life.

I have really enjoyed reading this series so far and can’t wait to read more!

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

The Ranchers Rescue by Cari Lynn Webb-Book #2 in Return of the Blackwell Brothers

Ethan Blackwell has come home only as a favor to his brother. They need to find out what happened to there grandfather. It wasn’t like him to up and leave for this long. His life is not in Falcon Creek. That’s until Grace Gardner surprised him with some news. What will he do?

Grace wasn’t sure what to expect out of Ethan once she told him her news. She wasn’t sure what she wanted from him. So many times she wanted him to love her, but she knew that wasn’t possible. His life was elsewhere. He was a veterinarian and a darn good one.

So many emotions throughout this book. It made me laugh, cry.

I highly recommend..

This is the second book in the multi author series. If you haven't started it you are truly missing out. Ethan is back at the Blackwell Ranch the place he never wanted to come back to, but family has drawn him back. I loved watching Grace and Ethan together. They were delightfully adorable. Plus I liked the we got to revisit Jon and his family from the first book. I enjoyed the growth of the characters in this book. The fear of change and putting yourself out there. A lot of people can relate to. The family drama with the Blackwells because their grandfather is still MIA. The characters pulled me into the book and the story kept me there. I felt satisfied when I finished this book. It made my heart feel happy.

This is a heartwarming story of a man learning to fall in love with the family ranch again and take responsibility for the ranch and the young woman who is carrying his child. Along with that, his grandfather who runs the ranch, and his wife have left it all on him and his brothers. Now, they must get the finances in order before they lose the ranch. But they need help. And here is where Grace, comes to the rescue. She is good with numbers. She is carrying Ethan’s child, but doesn’t want him to know. And to say the circumstances of how that happened are interesting. There is stubborn written all over the two of them. But time and circumstances bring them together. This is a sweet story of romance and second chances.
