Within these pages you will find a provocative, introspective and enlightening discussion of American values. Value trends from 1960 to 2000 are examined and historical highlights are provided. This book will challenge your views of government, the entertainment industry, the judicial system, religion, and especially parenting. As you read these pages, a somewhat unnerving picture of the future unravels from seemingly disjointed events. This book provides a reality check for every American and Dr. Trapp has provided a strategy for changing undesirable value trends in our society. You will not view America the same after you reflect on these pages.
I can't say that this book was a total and absolute waste of time just because It felt like someone was shoving repeated pieces of information down my throat. (that was long!!) I enjoyed reading some parts of it. The parts which provided me with facts I didn't know!! But I mostly was annoyed because some parts of it were redundant and irrelevant. and the writer just kept on paraphrasing and twisting his words around to get back to the same thing! The books is separated into five parts, each one containing a number of chapters that deal with American values and the way everything has changed over the early four decades. reasons, motives, consequences, and a strategy for change that I didn't bother reading!
