This is a retelling of the gospels using Mark, the "Just the facts" gospel writer as the framework and adding the extra stories of Matthew and Luke where they might best fit. From Luke we get the Christmas story and other details. Matthew is always very interested in having events in Jesus' life fit with Old Testament scriptures. Reading this gives me a sweeping feeling for the life of Jesus. The last part of this book takes up the gospel of John. This gospel seems more a statement of faith and tries to exhort the reader into belief in the Christ. Having a book written in this way helps one to center on the central message of Jesus.
