EVERYTHING'S ARCHIE VOL. 1 is the first of a chronological collection of titles featuring the classic series. This is presented in the new higher-end format of Archie Comics Presents, which offers 200+ pages at a value while taking a design cue from successful all-ages graphic novels.
Back in the days of Saturday morning cartoons, The Archies ruled both TV and radio. While "Sugar, Sugar" was on the airwaves, you could also read the band's adventures in this classic series -- reprinted here again for fans young and old alike!
THE ARCHIE SUPERSTARS are the impressive line-up of talented writers and artists who have brought Archie, his friends and his world to life for more than 70 years, from legends such as Dan DeCarlo, Frank Doyle, Harry Lucey, and Bob Montana to recent greats like Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz, and many more!
Since "Everything's Archie" is billed as the title about "The Archies" (the band), I thought there would be more rock 'n roll adventures in this collection. There are a few, but most of the stories are your standard shenanigans in Riverdale. Still fun, but not a single Pussycat in sight. Standouts for me include cold-hearted Mr. Lodge secretly arranging for the Archies to perform for a busload of orphans, and Jughead's pooch Hot Dog befriending a lonely old lady. There's also a segment on boat safety that's pretty laugh out loud.
