Ms. Scarlett was making her crazy! Marilee knew that Ms. Scarlett and her grey haired posse were organizing all of the pranks that kept happening in town. But why was it that, every time Marilee tried to hide the pranks, the annoying, all-seeing and irritating Emerson, the new sheriff, arrived with his brooding eyes and annoyingly broad shoulders?! It was almost as if the man had a sixth sense for when she was going to make a fool of herself and he showed up to enjoy the show! Emerson thought Marilee was adorable and sexy and…odd. But he couldn’t resist her. All of those lush curves and gorgeous smiles. He might not understand the lovely Marilee, but he was falling for her. And he wasn’t sure he cared!

This was a light, fun, no angst read.

I haven't read the the other books in this series, but its seems to be about these four friends --three girls, Marilee, Ivy & Daisy, and one guy, Tony-- who worked at a truck diner. Their fortunes changed when they won the joint lottery they'd bought and so they moved to this small town called Low Point and ran successful businesses from there.

Emerson is a hot shot commander of the New York SWAT team. However, outside of his work, he finds himself lonely in a huge city, which is why he's considering the position of Sheriff of Low Point. After the interview with the local council, he's still undecided when he happens to peep into a sandwich shop at Low Point and is captivated by a smiling, stunning brunette. That's Marilee. He immediately calls up the town's council member and accepts the job, much to the dismay of his team and second-in-command, Mark, who I think is the hero of the following book.

There's a bored geratric group in town who go about playing pranks at night like leaving coloured turtles in the town's fountain or dressing the statue of the town's founder with polka dotted bikini. Marilee knows who they're and since they're harmless, she tries to undo what they've done, but every time she's at it, she finds herself facing Emerson. Emerson knows that Marilee knows who's playing these pranks --although it doesn't take him long to figure it out himself-- but she won't tell him and he amuses himself watching her and pushing her buttons. As Marilee is heavily stacked she thinks she's overweight and she's struggling between exercises she doesn't want to do and eating her favourite snacks and healthy food. And, lacking in confidence too, she's listening to advice from life-style gurus, which irks Emerson because he finds her perfect. He can't help kiss her every time they're together and landing up on her doorstep on the slightest pretext like bringing her stray pups he found knowing she'd take good care of them.

However, the more he pursues her the more she keeps running away and hiding from him because she thinks a big shot cop like him wouldn't stay in a small town like Low Point for long and she's scared she's falling him. As it is every time he kisses her, she hates to see that he can easily walk away --which isn't true, he is forced to leave because duty calls-- but she doesn't like the feeling standing on jellied legs and watching him leave. Her friends and their husbands however keep giving Emerson tips and help for him to reach Marilee. Meanwhile, Emerson, who thought his job in small town would be boring, finds some illegal drug activity going on at the outskirts. However it brings danger to Marilee when she's kidnapped because of his investigation, but the kidnappers or even Emerson and his team had no clue what a dynamite Marilee could be. It was fun to see how she outsmarted the kidnappers.

The epilogue was funny and sweet. I also liked all the other characters in the books, the various townspeople especially the geratric group, also Marilee's friends and their husbands and Tony and his love-interest, Julia, the waitress-cum-bartender who worked for him. May catch up on their romances when I feel like a light read like this one. Overall, a cute, fun read.

I loved this book from the very first page, I adore a romance with a strong alpha male and a comedic slant. I laughed out loud a few times and that is rare for me. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

The things I liked about this book were the crazy pranks of the geriatric group, the last 2 chapters including the epilogue. It got a little intense towards the end. It was worth it. It had the funny moments which are important to any novel.

"Caught" is the story of Marilee and Emerson.

Sunshine but scarred tempestuous heroine, sweet smitten hero, loads of pet rescuing, mischievous old ladies, some pushing away, romance and HEA.

Enjoyed it.

Great

This was Marilee and Emerson's story. This was cute but predictable except for when she was kidnapped by drug dealers. She turned the tables on them in a spectacular way.

Possibly my favourite book in this series. Humour, romance and some really inept bad guys. Loved it.
