From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Monica Murphy…

The pro football player is the hottest thing to come out of Cunningham Falls—and the boy who broke Maisey’s heart back in high school.
He claims he wants another chance. She says absolutely not. But Maisey’s refusal is the ultimate challenge to Tucker. Life is a game, and Tucker’s playing to win Maisey’s heart—forever.
The Kristen Proby Crossover Collection features a new novel by Kristen Proby and six by some of her favorite writers:
If Tucker's a manly football player, I'm lady Gaga. This author is not for me. I felt like I could hear the author's voice through her characters. so her characters didn't feel real to me.
It's a very short read/listen. The audioreader is good. The story is lame. Dual POVs. And I sure wish I didn't see the story from his POV 'cause it killed it for me.
Tucker and Maisy are in love until he dumps her with no warning in his last year of high school (she's a year or two younger) and runs off to join the NFL. He never contacts her again. He immediately (and this is from his own POV) starts banging football bunnies and has been doing that ever since. He and Maisy had not had sex in HS cause she wasn't ready. They fooled around a lot though. No she isn't a virgin, but she might as well be 'cause she has only dated a couple people. But somehow he is floored when he sees her again a decade later. The insta love/lust was completely unbelievable and unsatisfying. There's no progression to his regretting dumping her. It was practically his first thought after bumping into her at the store. This is after a decade apart. Ridiculous!
What we have here is NO grovel... unless you can count the BS going on inside his sappy effeminate skull. We also have a doormat h who might as well have been wearing a sign saying 'I'm a doormat, screw me any way you want to'. All he has to do is have one conversation with her about a cake and then call her. There's no apology. EVEN HE is surprised how easy it is to get back into her good graces.
She's supposed to be late 20s but behaves more like a high school kid. Her sister is super smug.
To be honest I quit at about 80%. I'm surprised I made it that far. Safety is fine if you can believe it. Personally I think she should have waited till he was tested for STDs.
Nothing Without You is one of the novellas’ included in the Big Sky, Crossover Collection, and I loved getting to finally read Cunningham Falls cake making extraordinaire Maisey Henderson’s story.
"He’s here temporarily… Soon he’ll go back home to California and forget all about me."
But it also reminded me of how much I love Monica Murphy’s writing, idiot that I am, it’s been far too long since I read anything by her. So after getting to know footballer Tucker McCloud in this one, and after being introduced to two of his football colleagues who are also the focus of the first two books in her Forever Yours series, it came as no surprise that I promptly went and one-clicked both available titles.
I had no idea I missed his touch so badly until I had his hands on me once again…
Nothing new or unusual with the tropes used here, second-chance, first-love, and teenage broken hearts, but Monica put her unique spin on things. Tucker was swoon-worthy in his sweetness and Maisey didn’t give him an easy ride. A quick enjoyable read, and a great addition to the Crossover Collection
"Now that I’ve got you back in my arms, I want to make this moment last…"

Trash. This asshole hero actually said the words "it's like you have just been right here waiting for me" while he had a different gorgeous women every night. He said multiple times how he could have any girl whenever and however he wanted her. The heroine felt like an extension of that. He will trade her in when he is 45 for a younger model, 100%
Wow this was short but very sexy and sweet. I loved tucker and masey. They were high school sweethearts. Then he went away to college and forgot all about him. Now he's back for a weekend to visit his family and they meet.
This story is so stupid. I wanted a quick light read but I felt like I was reading the longest book ever written. Heroine:pitiful. 10 years separation and when hero comes back to town just a compliment on her baking skills she was ready to throw herself in the mmc arms again. Noting he had a vast list of women under his belt and she had a couple of “forgettable” dates. Pitiful. Those mcs are in their early/mid 30s. It’s like they say: a trickster and a dumb leave their houses every day and at some point in the day they meet.
Out of the 3 books I got from the series to review, Nothing without you was my least favorite (Crazy Imperfect Love by K.L. Grayson was the best for me with Worth Fighting For by Laura Kaye coming second). Recently, I got a lot of books (certainly more than I would like) where the hero is the one who has slept with half the town, while the heroine has very limited experience and this book was the cherry on the top. At least it was short and they brought that up no more than 5 times. I told you all that in order to understand why I didn't give more stars to the book.
I actually like Maisie and I would like to see more of her in the main series. She was someone I could relate to and she was on my good graces since she stood up for herself. Tucker was not my kind of hero. I didn't understand why he broke things off with Maisie in the first place and even, later on, I couldn't see him as someone who redeemed himself. Or as the hero of the story. I am sorry, but he just didn't click for me.
Overall, the novella wasn't bad. I just think that I read it at the wrong time.
P.S. Lady Sussana and her man appear! That was the highlight of the book.
This story had the elements of a great romance book: good length, dual POV, interesting premise but the the execution did not work. The writing was not good for me and listened to one hour and the story felt too long and the dialogue too immature. I couldn't finish it.
I have been excited to get Maisey’s story since Tempting Brooke. She is Brooke’s sister and owner to cake shop next to her flower shop. Maisey has a fierce, strong independent personality. It is clear from the moment she spots Tucker back in town she has some serious unresolved feelings towards him and their past. Tucker, a NFL star is back in Cunningham Falls 10 years after he left, breaking Maisey’s heart by leaving her and ending their teenage relationship. He has some serious making up to do to get back in her good graces. The chemistry and heat between these two was incredible. I couldn’t get enough. Monica Murphy has written a beautiful second chance love story and devoured it in one sitting. I cannot wait to read more by this author in the future. This is a super short novella and the only flaw is how quickly in ended. Would have loved a bit more of these characters.
Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton are talented narrators and perfectly cast for this short story.
This was such a sweet second chance romance. Maisey and Tucker’s characters were beautiful and so relatable and loved their connection and chemistry. These two were childhood sweethearts and due to certain circumstances went in different directions . The story was beautifully written and even though I haven’t read any books by this author or in Forever Yours series I still enjoyed it and would be reading other books in this series. I only wish the story was tad bit longer. I received an advance copy of this via Social Butterfly. Thank you for introducing me to a new author.
A wonderful second chance romance as Tucker McCloud returns to Cunningham Falls runs into his high school sweetheart, Maisey Henderson, and quickly realizes leaving her might have been the biggest mistake of his life. Can he convince her to give them another chance?
I'm a sucker for a swoon-worthy second chance romance and that's exactly what you get with this read! Tucker and Maisey's story was one about rekindling that first love and realizing you never stopped loving the one........ the one that you let go when you should have been holding on tighter. I if you want a sweet, sexy quick read grab this book in the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection.
We never got to see Maisey and Tucker be a real couple. We saw them play at it when both didn't know how things would work out when he left, but we never see them actually working it out. I want to see couples actively working to make their relationship a success. I don't just want to see the start of it and then jump 5 years in the future for a 3 min epilogue that tries to give me a HEA.
You do get a satisfying amount of their back story when they were dating in HS, how things started, ended and a bit between. And I really liked these two when they were together. He was very sweet towards her and I wanted more of that. Also I'm really not sure if this was a V-card for her or not, I was a little confused by the word choice and the not explaining things after. Basically: WTF did "he know, just knows"??
This story need another hr at least, BUT that hr needed to be of them figuring out the long distance, seeing them communicate and pine for each other, her trying to get to a game if it was close. That would have made the epilogue that much better.
Maisey Henderson has lived in Cunningham Falls, Montana all her life and now she's a business owner and she can't see herself living anywhere else. Tucker McCloud is from Cunningham Falls and he left after high school to go play football in college then get drafted to the NFL. In high school, Maisey and Tucker were in love and thought they would be together forever but he left her and town without a backwards glance. Now years later, Tucker is back in town for his parents' anniversary and on his way to the store, he bumps into Maisey, who gives him a cold greeting. Even though Maisey is still hurt by how things ended between them, she was still cordial to Tucker and he wanted to get to know the girl he once loved all over again. At first Maisey resists a bit but then she goes out with him and they catch up. Tucker was determined to get Maisey back and he did, they were so cute together, the adult version of the kids they used to be. I really enjoyed this story and any story that takes place in Cunningham Falls.
Maisey and Tucker's love story is bittersweet. After what Tucker did to her in high school, I don't blame Maisey for being upset with him. After not seeing each other since Tucker had graduated fro high school years before, they accidentally run each other while he is home for a family get together. Tucker realizes he still feels a strong connection to Maisey and wonders if she will be interested in getting together. At first Maisey doesn't want to because she feels so much hurt and resentment towards him but then finally agrees. The more time they spend together, the more both of them start to think about the "what ifs" if they had never broken up. When Maisey realizes the strength of her feelings for Tucker, she panics and breaks things off because he is leaving. She doesn't believe a long distance relationship can work. In the end, Tucker convinces her that it can. I was disappointed with the ending because it doesn't really go into how they were going to make things work.
Nothing Without You is a beautiful second chance romance. Maisy has been helping others celebrate their HEA with beautiful cakes. Now she has Tucker, a beautiful football player, to give her what she deserves. He blew it many years ago when he broke up with her, took his football and run. Let the beautiful groveling begin.
I am loving all the books in the crossover collection. I am a big fan of the Big Sky series. I really like how so many more of the wonderful characters that Kristen Proby has created have found their HEA thanks to the other author contributors.
Maisey and Tucker were childhood sweethearts but circumstances lead their lives in different directions. This was a quick read and I would have liked it to be longer. I enjoyed reading about Tucker grovelling and trying his best to be forgiven for his betrayal. This book was low drama and angst and just a sweet read.
Is it possible to rekindle a first love, a love that you have never forgotten. Can you forgive and move on what someone shattered your heart and just walked away without a second glance. Read nothing without you to find out.
Why, oh why did I leave this so long to read…? I loved it, while really quick it was jam packed with all the delicious goodies of a romance with the perfect second chance. As a first book read from this author, I certainly want so many more. She has a perfect knack with writing and characters that I wanted this one to never end. Tucker and Maisy were the complete package.

Whatever it takes, he’ll regain her trust and eventually love – but not without a little bit of drama…
This doesn't seem to be the best this author can write. I've read lots of her books but this just has high school boyfriend returning to hometown where his ex high school girlfriend still lives. Second chance? Yes or no? That's it.
In Tempting Brooke, Brooke Henderson, the flower shop owner, was about to lose her shop because the new owner of the property thought of selling everything. While Brooke was successful with her flowers, her sister made fame with her divine cakes.
But if Maisey's professional life was well, her love life was in suspension. All because a few years ago, in high school to be more exact, she had her heart broken by her boyfriend who, when getting a scholarship, thanks to the sport, did not think twice to say goodbye to her.
Tucker McCloud, a football player, made fame and fortune. And now he was back in Cunningham Falls for a few days because of his mother's birthday.
In a small town, it would be kind of hard for both of them not to bump, and that's what happened on the local market. Maisey is polite to him, but really did not want to rescue the old friendship; there was no room for that. Except she forgot to tell him that. To get more in touch with her, Tucker takes advantage of the proximity of his parents' wedding anniversary to throw a surprise party and hires Maisey to make one of her cakes.
As days go by, do they have time to stay together? Yes. But Tucker was just there as a visitor. His life was in California, while Maisey had no desire to live in the big city. How would they solve this? 4,5 stars
I've been hoping Maisie gets a story from the Big Sky series and I'm glad she has here. Although I felt like she was short changed a bit because it's very novella like it was a complete story. Second chance romances are always good. Tucker and Maisie had so much history and feelings left over it was easy to fall back in. So while not as angsty as Monica's other books it still had that kick when came to figure out where their rekindled relationship was going. The doubts of could they make it or not, the whole debate on the future. It had a HFN ending and it was sweet I felt it could be open ended in a way but it had closure for Maisie and Tucker. Though I don't know if I've read the author before the writing is enjoyable enough and a good second chance romance with sports integrated.
“That’s my one regret over anything else, Maise . If I could go back in time and correct that mistake, I wouldn’t even hesitate. Just to see where our lives would’ve taken us. Aren’t you curious?” “Curious about what?” I’m still whispering. This moment is…reverent. As if we’re in church, confessing our secrets. Our sins. And asking each other for forgiveness.
Yet I know the real Tucker McCloud. The man behind the myth, the stories, the celebrity. I knew the boy he once was, and I loved him with all of my heart. If given the chance, I could love him again. Even more fiercely this time.
The premise sounded ok but the execution was awful. Starting with the POV of Maisey whose still hung up a decade later on her ex Tucker who dumped her to 'screw different women every night'. Charming. Already this book lost me at a chapter in. The next chapter was his POV and it was even worse. I couldn't stand either character, they came across as immature, not funny and I hated how she's saying how tough she is and having sex with him like days later. And of course when he sees her all he thinks about is sex. He was a douche and she needed more backbone. There was barely any angst and the stuff that was was pathetic. I also found the cheerleader sister annoying. This tried to go for funny and charming and failed IMO. I skimmed through most of it just to see if I was wrong but nope boring and trite. The only good thing I can say was the writing was completely terrible.
Okay, I am so sick of men who think they've done no wrong and can just waltz back in to women's lives and sweet tall them. Also really sick of the women who fall for that nonsense. Have some backbone ladies. I couldn't stand either of the mains and didn't much like any of his enablers trying to force them both together. No, save yourself from this horrible, ridiculous and pathetic fairy tale of nonsense. We deserve better.
Nope - didn't do it for me. Completely unbelievable second chance romance. Shallow characters. No real story told. No connection at all. It all felt... bland.
