Born on the glorious Atlantic Coast of Canada, on a tiny island called Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Mira is the only child of two only children. Reading and writing was an escape for the shy, quiet and curious child. Not really fitting in, became more of a badge of honor as years went by. Originality was something she aspired to define on her own terms, often going against the social norm for her own views on what was right or wrong.

Now in her 30's, Mira still lives on the same Island she was born. A true Caper, who never left for any reason except a few short trips beyond the causeway, the idea of being far from her roots never enticed her away... Now, she is raising four children, surrounded by extended family and lots of pets. When Mira isn't writing she is cooking, painting or wanting to be writing.

Happy Reading, and if you can, leave a review. She loves hearing from her readers!

Um no. I'm all for a good erotic spanking, but having just read almost an entire series by Stevie MacFarlane about old fashioned domestic discipline, and not liking it for the most part, I had hopes this one would be a bit more contemporary in feel. But, unfortunately, it was not. Jake is even more old fashioned than the O'Malleys, just as chauvinistic and condescending, and even more autocratic and bossy (and not in the good, sexy way). Just ugh.

The premise is this: famous country star, Jake, is back home in small town when he sees a newcomer in town and is attracted. So he arranges for her to interview him for the paper she works for. He wants her and figures if she interviews him, it will be a good introduction. Sounds good so far, right? But the story started off badly and went downhill from there. Or should I say, Jake just went downhill from there. I actually liked the story, it's just Jake that I didn't like. I mean really, he scolds her for cussing during the interview. Um no. God, the thought of it in this day and age is just shudder inducing. What is he, a freakin priest or something?!

If I could rate this on simply the story alone, I could possibly 4 star it, but since Jake is the "hero," I have to take him into consideration, and he's bad enough to drag this story down an entire 2 stars just on the strength of how bad his character is. But, the story alone is good. I like Whitney, and their chemistry and I like the mystery aspect. I never guessed who Jake's psycho fan was, so the reveal was pretty fantastic. So, great story, horrible hero, good heroine, hot chemistry, but old fashioned feel and outdated elements.

Jake is the second book in the Keller's of Beaumont Falls but can be read as a standalone. The story pulled me in from the beginning with plenty of mystery and crime, as I found myself trying to figure out who the stalker was out to get Whitney. Add this to the romance and chemistry between Jake and Whitney and I could not put the book down from start to finish. The author showed an alpha male with old fashioned values in love with a woman trying to accept this way of life. There were laughs, love a lot of mystery, crime, passion, spankings given in love and plenty more. However, the ending was truly a surprise as the stalker was revealed! I highly recommend this book for a great night's read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

YOU ARE A DIAMOND IN A VERY BIG SEA OF ROCKS, BABY

Book two of The Kellers of Beaumont Falls was a great addition to the first book of Jordan and Tegan but can read well a stand-alone story. Jake Keller has avoided his family and their business, making his way in Nashville and is a well-known country music artist. He will come back to Beaumont Falls for some rest and relaxation, to enjoy his home, and visit with his family before his next tour.

Whitney Blithe moves from Utah to the quiet, quaint town of Beaumont Falls and lands her a job with the newspaper. What a shock when the elusive Jake Keller contacts the paper himself and wants to do an interview, but only with her.

The plot will have Jake coming back to town and seeing Whitney coming into the town diner he is at and learning from some of the older men who she is and where she works. As a man who never has believed in love at first sight, even if he sings those type of songs, he is enamored with Whitney immediately. Beaumont Falls is a town they have men who believe in domestic discipline, and women who submit, he knows that is how his parent’s marriage is, and it is what he wants, someday.

“This is what Jake wanted—a happy wife and a happy life. If it took putting his wife over his knee from time to time, he believed this was an acceptable way of keeping the peace.”

The interview with Whitney will have Jake holding the upper hand, throwing her off, keeping her on edge and full of unexpected surprises. Jake doesn’t dress the part of his country singer act, and he shocks her with his off-the-record remarks. But when he tells her about her needing a spanking, he can see a bit of shock with interest.

“But Whitney? She was different. The chemistry between them was electric. She was just feisty enough to be challenging. Plus, she had chosen Beaumont Falls over the big city. They were meant to be, he was sure of it. You couldn’t buy this kind of chemistry; it just came naturally.”

The story will bring up more of his past, with his best friend in high school, Kyle, that drowned in the lake. And now he and Whitney are dealing with an overzealous stalker fan who has now targeted Whitney, and the threat is serious enough that he must move her in the private family compound and his home. The danger has Whitney going off and letting her mouth get away with her, she disobeys his order, and he can’t let it pass.

“There was something happening between them. Chemistry, fated connection, magnetism? I won’t have my girl being disrespectful, or doing anything to hurt the trust between us. Honesty is a hard rule for me.”

When Jake learns that she hasn’t been completely truthful with him about her family, that will become a hard issue that he won’t let her get away with. Lies of omission are still lies. The story will take on life and death issues when the stalker attacks and Whitney refuses to listen when Jake is just trying to keep her safe.

The story has many spankings and a few sex scenes. There is plenty of mystery and suspense, with secrets, angst, acceptance, and forgiveness with an HEA ending. I look forward to more stories in this series.

I am really enjoying this new series, the Kellers from Beaumont, a lot. Jake is one hard-nosed dominant guy. He can also be very sweet, but a bit overprotective. I like him but you will also want to grit your teeth and scream at his autocratic ways. Whitney is just adorable and she is bulldozed completely by Jake. I think she should have played harder to get in the beginning just to keep Jake in his toes and if a guy ever told me to quit my job and then did it for me I would have to leave him behind. At least until he saw the error of his ways. He was one strict man with punishments that had me cringing in sympathy for Whitney but he is quite the romantic too. So you will feel a rollercoaster of emotions while reading this story but it is a good one. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Whitney is tasked to interview Country star Jacob Keller. From the first minute they meet, they are attracted to each other and end up dating. But there are people who are not happy that Jacob has found his significant other and there is danger along the road. Unfortunately, Whitney is very headstrong and Jacob has to discipline Whitney to show her how important her safety is to him.

Jake is the second book of The Kellers of Beaumont Falls series. There is a lot of suspense and there are also some scenes that made me laugh. The intimate scenes were spicy and there are also quite a few spankings. I liked reading the book.

This book has a lot to offer. At it's core it is a romance that features domestic discipline. However, so much more has been added to the mix. This book features a suspenseful, mysterious page turning stalker that keeps you guessing. Add in secrets, drama, lies, angst, danger, steam, sweetness and heart and this is one very enjoyable and entertaining read. The chemistry between Jake and Whitney is so very hot and their attraction is sizzling. I loved seeing Jake help Whitney explore her wants and needs. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.

This story has a sweet but alpha country music star,Jake, and a sassy, inexperienced submissive young woman Whitney. Jake knows what he wants. Whitney isn’t sure, but Jake is sexy and so sure of himself and sure that they are right for one another that he draws her right in. The story has a little danger as well as Whitney adjusting to Jake’s expectations. I really enjoyed it.

(This is the second in the series, but you can read it standalone.)

I must say I liked Jordan’s story more. Jake is a little harsher for my liking. I can understand that he loves Whitney but his punishments were a little too much for me.
However I loved the scene at the concert in Nashville as much as the end! Too be honest I didn’t see that plot twist coming and the whole stalker thing made the story that much interesting!!

First this can definitely be a stand alone book as this is the first one in series I have read but I will try and go back and read the first book as this one kept me entertained. This book is the kind I greatly enjoy as it has many twists, turns, mystery, suspense, sexual chemistry, erotic and disciplinary spankings and of course well rounded characters. If you enjoy this type of plot line and story I highly recommend this story.

Good romantic suspense. There were a few moments to make you chuckle, but the book mostly revolved around the mysterious stalker, and Whitney's inability to do as Jake asked.

I was pretty surprised by the identity of the stalker and the interesting twist to the story. A fast paced entertaining read.

THINK YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLVE A MYSTERY? THINK AGAIN!

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ADVANCE READER COPY OF THIS BOOK

I loved this book. The ending was wonderful; especially when you think of who-dunnit. The love at first sight was incredible. The spanking makes one think twice if it’s a good or bad thing. Kept me in suspense of what was going to happen next.

The second book in the Kellers of Beaumont Falls series. It can be read as a standalone.
It is well written and has a nice storyline and plot. The characters are well described. Jake is a bit too dominating and old fashioned for me. I like the BDSM and the chemistry between the characters. Instant attraction and sparks all over.
Enjoyable read and story of nice length.
