I myself suffer from Hypothyroidism and get quarterly blood tests that only test the TSH and T4 levels. This book has great information on how I can start the healing process for my thyroid. Now, granted I probably will never get away from needing to take my Synthroid medication but at least these methods will help.

I have done the paleo diet in the past and have seen great results. Lost the extra pounds (10lbs) and felt great, however, I fell off the bandwagon due to the temptation of long-lost treats.

After reading Osansky's book I am determined to get back on the Paleo diet and stick to it because it does help.

One thing that stuck out the most to me in this book is about food can cause triggers. I've been documenting certain foods that cause skin problems, upset stomach, and other ill effects. But, the book has confirmed my suspicions that certain foods like sugar or tomatoes can cause flare-ups and can be related to my thyroid problem.

If you want to know more on what could be triggering your thyroid problems then this book is for you.

Technical but great help

Dr. Osansky puts it all out for you to make up your own mind about how you want to handle your hypothyroid condition. Medical views of how the body works, extensive knowledge of what it takes to get relief and remission, and steps that you can follow on your own. What supplements and tests you need. I couldn't put it down!

According to Dr. Eric Osansky, IFMCP (doctor of functional medicine), Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease dependent upon three factors: 1) a genetic predisposition, 2) an environmental trigger, and 3) a leaky gut. His book examines in detail the many triggers that can be responsible for the onset of the disease and offers natural strategies for reversing autoimmunity. Divided into four sections--Understanding the Autoimmune Component, The Triggers, Detecting Your Triggers, and Removing the Triggers--the material follows a logical order and is not only well-written and researched but also very accessible to the lay person. Having had Hashi's for the past 40 years, I appreciated some of the strategies Dr. Osansky provided to deal with this often perplexing and always complex condition. A valuable resource; highly recommend.

For those already diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, this book is a wealth of information on how to discover and eradicate triggers and find the "ways" to remission and a possible cure. The supplemental information alone is extensive and worth the price of this book. We are armed with the knowledge of how autoimmune diseases manifest and the conscious decisions we can make to avoid them and to live a healthy life. This book is packed with comprehensive research to help us to remain disease free by implementing a clean diet, exercise, quality vitamins, rest and stress control routine. This book is a great resource that we will want to go back to time and again. HASHIMOTO’S TRIGGERS is for anyone that is ready to create and live a healthier lifestyle.

It is a good read and gives an understanding for people who want to read. However many suggestions are based on methods in research so you might be hesitant to try it.

While this book might have some helpful information, I would take it with a grain of salt. The author is not an MD. There are some parts that border on dangerous misinformation. The author cautions against vaccines and recommends “homeopathic vaccines” called nosodes instead. There is no research backing nosodes.
