The Language of the Soul: Healing with Words of Truth Book 2

Rate this book
Enriched by numerous case studies and years of client experience, this book guides readers to move beyond the tangled web of stories they tell themselves and others about their lives, relationships, illnesses, and disruptive life patterns. Step-by-step, the chapters uncover the origins of behaviors and feelings such as drug or alcohol addiction, failed careers, and depression. Hidden loyalties to people and ideas are introduced as the underlying causes of these obstacles, which cloud the path to success and cause people to believe the stories they tell themselves, eventually losing touch with the truth. Through the examples in this book, readers will learn to acknowledge and embrace truth, spelling out the explicit facts and rejecting the fictions they have created to excuse their failings.

Another Inspiring Read

After having read Payne's first book in this series, I was keen to read the next. I really enjoyed this one as the case studies were really thought provoking and covered a wide range of family issues. I especially like how the author spoke about "the field" in his conclusion of the book. The book is well-thought and well-written, and in an accessible language style that made it a fast and easy read. The only issue that prevents me from giving it the full 5 stars (and its the same issue I had with the first book) is the "scripted" lines Payne has his constellation participants say during the process. But that is less an issue to do with the book than with his style of facilitating (I have been to many constellation workshops and I don't ever recall anyone telling the representatives what to say). Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a welcome follow up to book 1. I look forward to reading more from this author, especially if he goes more even deeply into working with historic family traumas from past generationa.
