An absolute delight! I loved how Jamie and Fiona's story came full circle, from strangers to friends to wedded bliss. They fought their struggles and challenges together for the good of the clan. Ms. Baldwin never fails to capture my attention with her engaging characters, her thrilling storyline and her eye for everything Scottish. Her vivid descriptions tranports the reader to a different world during a time of turmoil and devastration, where they also find happiness and contentment.
A powerful and compelling story of love, betrayal, destruction, intrigue with suspense and a bit of mystery, all of which makes for great reading. An defined must read for fans of Medieval romance, Scottish romance and who enjoy complicated stories that will capture your heart. Well done!

I didn’t know about this author until a recent anthology. I got this story and really enjoyed it as well. It was fast paced, good characters, lots of action but that didn’t overwhelm the story. It kind of has some Margaret Mallory feel to it. I love finding new highlands romance authors to read. I hope she will continue to write more series. I look forward to reading more of her.

Now I’m off to go buy another series or two from her.

Can I have one Jamie MacLeod please?!!! What a great read. The story is fun, captivating and enthralling in all the ways a good historical romance should be! There is treachery, intrigue, danger, hope, bias, clashing of clans, romance, a formidable heroin and a swoon-worthy hero. My favorite characteristic of the heroin was her strength of character, even in moments of doubt and fear she comes thru like most of us would hope we would handle life when the odds are against us. She is believable in the era which this is set. In the highlands you would expect a lairds daughter to be strong and Fiona does not disappoint. Now our hero......he is all you want and a touch more. Handsome, fearsome, strong, vulnerable when it counts, and an overall knight in a kilt! The other aspect I loved of this story was that it shows what assumptions, prejudices and bias can cause in lifetime. I felt an underlying "moral of the story" in this novel and enjoyed it.

Absolutely must read

Lily has done it again, she's written a story that you just can't put down keeping you on the edge of you seat taking you through the whole spectrum of emotions.starting this book I had to wonder how these two could ever bridge the prejudice that was breed into them from birth. Strong and loyal to their clans that they both love dearly how could a bridge or a bond ever be formed. With both so strong and stubborn how could they ever come together to save the very people they loved so much. And how do you find your true love with your enemy? But Lily has shown how all of this can be over come and true love found. Lily you have out done yourself with this one and this comes from your biggest fan who owns and loves everyone of your books. Thank you for taking me to and letting me live in Fiona and Jamie's world for a time. Looking forward to your next great story...xoxoxo

Lily Baldwin never fails to take you on a journey with every book she write's, I love her I have read all of her books each one gets better & better , She can't write fast enough for me. From Start to finish i was captured by the Story of Fiona & Jamie their story of coming together for the greater good, compromising to save villages & family's. If you anything about Scottish History Clan wars were a common thing, They hardly ever saw eye to eye Except when it comes to Tyrants Or THE ENGLISH . If you love Romance community Sacrifice then you need to read The devil in Plaid. It also reminds us to never judge a book by its cover ( No Pun intended ) Listen to your heart, OPEN YOUR EYES FOR THEY SEE THE TRUTH.

Lady versus the lairds

An action packed story that is hard to put down of two strong willed individuals who believe in their clans and strive to protect them. Lady Fiona seeks help from Laird Jamie MacLeod and they join together to stop their mutual enemy. Her clan has a spy feeding information to the enemy and follows her to the MacLeod clan. Danger, plots, romance, and some unexpected events keep it interesting and you turning the pages. I highly recommend this book.

This story had a good plot and interesting characters, however I felt it was lacking in the angst area.

I loved the lady marring the brut from another clan to unite the clans, but found the stories about each other’s clans to be over the top. I also found the heroine a little annoying, but loved the hero.

Good

To unite their clan after long time of fighting to protect their clans from a new enemy threading the whole highlands. Learning that their fears and assumption are from old stories of misunderstandings they work together to bring peace upon their clans. Good book good characters highly recommended

Great story.

It goes to prove, never judge a book by its cover...or people by their cover. Jamie surely would have scared many a lass by the description given...but under the filth was a fine looking man, but most assuredly a man with a tender loving and giving heart.

Good but short story. It starts out with several misconceptions but they are quickly explained and resolved. The story is very short so things are quickly developing towards the end, without much delay and depth.

Great title for this story

This story holds a reader with terror initially. Then, the misunderstanding and mistrust. There is love next and sacrifice from unexpected sources.

Great story!

Lily Baldwin is probably one of the best authors I have ever read. The Devil In Plaid is well written with a unexpected twist. Jamie the strong laird and the daughter of his enemy find themselves in a marriage. Dealing with misunderstandings and preconceived notions they struggle with each other. Clan wars have never been soooo hot.
