Reporters are still around but Emmie and the others are able to avoid them. There's shopping for Halloween costumes and information on how she met Jack.
There's still major problems with Ryan at school and he even threatens Emmie. ( I think at this point if she had gone to the principal there would have been enough to get the punk kicked out even with the nastiness of his father to the principal.)
Then there's a plan to draw the evil trench-coat guy out into the open. Be careful what you wish for. (I think Emmie should have decided to carry some mace with her in case things would go wrong.)
The whole thing with Ryan I feel is getting stretched out a little too much. He is obviously the kind that has no problem with resorting to violence and, in light of the horrors taking place in many schools by past or present students I think some official at some level would have taken notice and had the punk removed permanently from the school.

this book was super thrilling and suspenseful. can't wait for book 13 and Julia Jones book 5 teenage years. please hurry.
