Tyler Cree has never been good at the whole look and don’t touch thing.
From the moment he was old enough to walk on his own two feet, he’s been looking for trouble.
Trouble comes in many forms…quite a few of those forms being the female persuasion.
Tyler knows what girls want—a bad boy. And he has the bad boy image down pat.
Ex-military—check.
Hot cop—double check.
A bike between his legs and a devil may care attitude—oh, yeah.
All the girls want him, yet none of them will have him—at least not all of him, anyway. A certain appendage they can have all they want. His heart, however, is not up for grabs. The useless organ inside his chest was broken and battered, mutilated by the one woman he thought would keep it safe.
Spoiler alert: she ripped it to shreds and set fire to the pieces.
To protect himself, Tyler keeps everyone at arm’s length, and never lets anyone get too close.
Then Reagan Rose Alvarez barrels into his life, and trespasses on not only his property, but straight into his abused heart. One glance is all it takes, and he’s suddenly thinking about things he hasn’t thought for quite some time—thoughts that a man like him should never have about a woman like her.
One moment of weakness is all it takes, and suddenly he has no other choice but to go on the offensive.
Keeping her is the only other option now.
Turns out, his heart isn’t as broken as he thought it was.
The only problem is, now the little she-devil holds it in the palm of her hands, and she has no clue just how much power she holds.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Reagan was on the fast track to the Olympics. That is until her boyfriend didn't want her to leave and shattered her dreams. Literally. It was a good thing that it didn't get her completely down. This young lady sure knew how to get back on her own two feet. See, she had a plan B. Her love of all things 'plant' had her focusing on a career in botany. But this seemingly placid plan didn't change the independent and impulsive person she was at her core. Incredibly shy, Reagan was prone to rash decisions and landing herself into trouble. Like trespassing on other people's property.
I've been pretty excited to read Tyler Cree's book. He sounded pretty hot and I knew that his story would be amazing. I'm glad to say that I was not disappointed.
Tyler's heart was broken twice over. Once for the woman he cared about and once from the person he trusted more than any other. His best friend. His brother from another mother. So trusting people doesn't come easy for him. He still suffers from the hurt that came knocking on his door four years ago, but he's living.
I loved Tyler, but then again, there was so much about him to love.
Former military? ✔ Chief of Police? ✔ Got a motorcycle? ✔ Tatted? ✔ Knows his way between a woman's legs? ✔ Basically hot AF? ✔
He didn't have any intentions of getting involved with Reagan. None. However, this woman wasn't going away. And as he has a huge problem with seeing and not touching, her constant presence was causing a problem... for him and his resistance. Their age difference and the fact that he counted her father as a friend weren't going to be enough to keep his hands off of her.
I loved these two characters so much. Their push and pull made what wasn't a slow burn romance still exciting to witness. With touches of suspense and the usual smattering of interesting side characters, this story was a thrill to read for all of the right reasons. Lani Lynn Vale never fails!!

O…M..G… Lani Lynn Vale sure turned up the heat to a WHOLE new level in the perfect ‘enemies to lovers’ that is this Too Bad So Sad!
Tyler Cree – again I say, isn’t this name just the best?! How badass is it on its own?! – and Reagan Alvarez, Bennet’s not-so-little-girl-anymore daughter, had an sparkling, to say the least, first meeting. Both ‘complicated’ people, they couldn’t be more different from one another, but one thing it can never be denied, their attraction!
I studied the woman that was still standing there, looking at me like she was trying to figure me out. Good luck. Even I couldn’t figure me out.
I wanted him so bad I could practically taste it. It was a bittersweet feeling this way because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to yell at him or fuck him.
Ladies and gentlemen, it was SCORCHING!!! Their non stop and deliciously enticing banter was a thing of beauty, and just made for a more slow paced and perfectly realistic relationship development. I fell hard for these two, I love a good enemies to lovers romance, when executed well it’s my catnip, and Tyler and Reagan with their anti-sociality, sarcasm and innuendos seemed tailor made for yours truly! It was TOP!
“Is there any part of you that is normal-sized?” I hissed, making sure to angle my face up over my shoulder so that he would hear everything that I had to say. He laughed. “No, honey. Sorry. I’m from Texas where they make everything supersized.”
We have in Too Bad So Sad every single and diverse moment of the spectrum that makes Ms. Vale’s writing – along with a witty and fast paced plot – so addicting. Tyler and Reagan are the epitome of ‘enemies to lovers’, and as such the beautifully portrayed anger and frustration with each other and their own bodies betrayal in craving the other, lead to some of the most insane HOT angry sexy times LLV has given us. Consider yourselves warned! ;)
Once the initial antagonism – ok, who am I kidding, lol? The banter is constant feature even after together, and I loved that even more! – develops into a somewhat friendship with benefits, the more Tyler and Reagan get close the more their true feelings come forth, and become undeniable. Even to the most stubborn of people, lol.
I wanted her to feel safe with me. I wanted her to love me. I wanted her to…be mine. I was so going to hell. My feelings had changed in what felt like a heartbeat.
Hell no, I’d never be able to let her go. Nothing but everything with her would do.
And I swooned! Hard! Yep, I never expected the rough, broody and prickly Tyler had such a sweet and tender side. True that neither of them guessed they would have this love right on their doorstep, and that it would blossom the way it did, but don’t they say the most beautiful things are the unexpected. I know their love story was!
Don’t know if Too Bad So Sad will be the last book of this amazing and impactful Simple Man series, but if it is, it sure was a beautifully crafted wrap up, with how we got to see the rest of the gang, all the previous couples, and how well they were integrated in this story that was no doubt all about the awesomeness that is Tyler and Reagan and their outstanding HEA, but also gave us – BIG – hint on Rome and Ms. Vale’s upcoming The Bear Bottom MC. I am seriously salivating, and anxiously awaiting to get my hands on this tortured Hero, ex football player! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
“You did something to my heart,” he said. “I can’t fuckin’ think because you’re all in my head, making me do and say things that I never would’ve done before you.”

This is my first book from the Simple Man series. Heck, this is my first Lani Lynn Vale book! I must say that I absolutely enjoyed reading this book.
Too Bad So Sad is a ball of fun! It's so entertaining too read. I found myself laughing my ass off at Reagan's shy but crazy tendencies. Her ability to be herself... she kinda reminds me of Luna Lovegood from The Harry Potter series. Why you ask? She is absolutely unapologetic about who she is and I love that about her.
This book was crazy fun just like the characters themselves... From Reagan's impulsive nature that leads to very entertaining reads that leaves you laughing with tears running down your face to Tylers broody attitude, this book is a must read. I must say this though, well two things actually, one: There is an age gap between these two, Second: This can be put into the category of 'enemies to lovers' which FYI I LOVE!!!!!
I highly Highly highly recommend this book! You should definitely pick this one up ASAP!

Tyler Cree’s been living life the way he wants and minding his own business when his world is turned topsy-turvy by a mouthy, determined trespasser in the form of Reagan Alvarez. I laughed so many times while reading TOO BAD SO SAD, Tyler and Reagan were constantly bickering, mostly instigated by Reagan, who happens to be my new girl crush! She is sassy, feisty, yet shy and anti-social, she’s totally unique. Tyler is a sexy, Alpha male determined not to fall in love with anyone…but he couldn’t resist all that was Reagan. The heat between the two is super intense, Tyler is definitely dominant in bed and boy oh boy is it hot! Their first sex scene made me want to smoke a cigarette, and I don’t smoke.
I loved who Reagan was with Tyler, she was brazen, bold and confident. Tyler, underneath his exterior Alpha badassness was a man broken by the loss of his best friend, Rome. I was an emotional wreck when I found out what Rome had been going through and am very curious, but scared, to find out how his story plays out.
Secondary characters, like always Lani does a great job incorporating past characters. Janie and Katie are back, but what I loved best was the appearance of Reagan’s sister and brother. There is part of their family dinner and their parent’s response to them that had me crying with laughter.
I love everything about TOO BAD SO SAD, it is funny, sexy, emotional and satisfying. Bring on Bear Bottom Lani, I cannot wait!
I was going to skip this book, but I read the synopsis and I was curious. It was a good surprise and I really liked the heroes. I recommend to those who liked the first books published by the author.
Man does Lani Lynn Vale know how to write an alpha that has will have to melt in the palm of his hand on second and in the next wanting to smack the back of his head. I adored Tyler Cree so much!
This book gave me so many feels. That slow burn that kept me turning that pages as I waited for these two to finally admit they would make one epic couple.
It had been a while that I had loved one of the heroines as much of the alphas, but this book had the perfect pair. Tyler Cree and Reagan Alvarez where the perfect couple. They had that push and pull you need as a reader. She did not give in to demands. Reagan was a woman that stood up for what she believed in and if that got her into a little trouble so be it. Tyler could just get over it.
Tyler needed a woman with the I do not give a crap what your opinion is attitude to balance him out. She was quiet and reserved until you pushed her and then you got this little hellcat.
My only downfall with this book is that the major plot twist at the end of this book did remind me a ton of Coke and Cora's. Other than that, I adored this entire book.
Hands down this is one of my favorite LLV books to date. Tyler and Reagan will come barreling into you....the reader....and they will frustrate you, make you laugh till you cry and make you scream at them and their antics. In the end you will love them like I did. This book was classic Lani Lynn Vale. It's why I will continue to read all her books as long as she writes.
Too Bad So Sad is my favorite Lani Lynn Vale book yet! I don't know if it's because I've been hearing about Tyler Cree and Reagan Alvarez for theist couple of books so I started the book feeling familiar with them or the fact that it had more steamy times, more emotions, and less extreme drama (though, of course the drama was still there - it would be an LLV story without it!), but I devoured this book with joy and with far less skepticism than I've had when reading her previous books. I just love how all of the characters' lives intertwine and I realized while reading that the author's storytelling method is like spending happy hour with a girlfriend who is spilling all the tea on everybody she knows (and she knows everybody AND all of their business) - it is so entertaining and sort of comforting in an odd way. I think Reagan is one of my favorite heroines in the series so far and Tyler Cree is up there with Johnny (Get You Some) and Coke (Ain't Doin' It). My only question is, is the Simple Man series over now, because the preview we get at the end of the book is for her upcoming Bear Bottom MC series? I mean, as long as she keeps the books coming, I'm not complaining, especially since meeting Rome (Tyler Cree's best friend and the hero of the first book in the series, Mess Me Up, out in early September). This book really got me pumped for more of her world! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
Each month, I love sitting down with Lani Lynn Vale’s next book. It’s like a regular visit with a group of old friends. She has created this huge, interconnected fictional world that I just can’t seem to get enough of. The Simple Man Series is Vale’s first second-generation series, and its roots are in her debut series, Freebirds, as these books center around the children of the lead couples from that series or, as Vale and her long-time readers refer to these characters, the Free Kids. Because of that connection, fan-favorite characters from previous series pop up throughout these books, and it’s a nice surprise for readers to catch a glimpse of those characters.
Something Vale does exceptionally well is write everyday heroes as her lead men. She’s written police officers, firemen, paramedics, and she writes them all so naturally and realistically that readers can’t help but fall for these good men. Too Bad So Sad features police officer, Tyler Cree. Tyler has never quite recovered from a painful, dual betrayal that left his heart in tatters. Reagan Alvarez, the daughter of Downey from Vale’s KPD-SWAT series, is a firecracker and one determined little lady, or well, she’s determined to drive Tyler crazy. Their back-and-forth bickering and bantering was hilariously refreshing and so much fun to read. They may have started out as adversaries, but their chemistry was so volatile that it literally sparked all around them and proved to be impossible to ignore.
Too Bad So Sad is another fabulous addition to a series full of fantastic stories. Entertaining with an edge of suspense, Vale worked her magic blending her crazy sense of humor with a fun, sexy romance. Five smooches from me for Too Bad So Sad by Lani Lynn Vale. ~Danielle Palumbo
I love this author’s characters who always, always tug at the heartstrings. Tyler has been burned badly and conducts all affairs of the heart accordingly since then. In other words, there aren’t any. Physical connections, sure, but he is not interested in anything more…
“Trouble comes in many forms…quite a few of those forms being of the female persuasion.”
It does take a special person to make you rethink your stand (on anything) and Reagan is going to test all of his resolve…
“If you weren’t such a pain in the ass, I’d ask you out on a date.”
These two together were flint to fire. Reagan was independent and never afraid to bend and twist the rules a little to further her research. She was a pistol and Tyler had his hands full keeping her out of trouble and safe, when danger came calling.
I loved how this pair looked beneath the facades and understood exactly what the other needed, pushing and pulling, and digging in when they had to. It was messy and chaotic and, just perfect!
Lani Lynn Vale once again has captured my attention and drawn me into a world full of her Alpha men and sassy strong women. I loved Raegan and Tyler's story. He's a hot cop, shes a sassy but nerdy college student. It's safe to say I will basically read ANYTHING this author writes
I liked this coupling but for some reason, I didn't completely connect with them. It might've been Tyler's reluctance to admit that he was gone for Reagan or Reagan not be being quite as sassy as I wanted her to be... I can't quite put my finger on it. I guess I just wanted more from them. *shrugs*
On a positive note, I thought the bad guy part was pretty good, I liked seeing more Bennett (although a Payton cameo would've been priceless) & I liked that Katy was introduced back into the storyline. I also thought that Reagan had a cool & unique job.
Who bugged me most: *Way (Reagan's sister)- I'm already annoyed with her & I just met her. Not interested in her getting a book in the future. *Tara- Ugh. I hate her. Hate that Tyler was with her. Hate that Rome was with her. Hate everything about her. #B*tchBeGone
All in all, not a super memorable read for me. I guess I'm just ready to be WOWED by this author once again. Like SWAT series WOWED. That series is everything.
A little scared to start book one, Mess Me Up, in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series next. I might have to hold off for a while because a death of a child (pretty certain that is gonna happen anyways) is such a difficult thing to read about.
This story was not my cup of tea. Didn't like H and h much.
Didn't like how H always cliamed this was the last time after the first two times he slept with h. Neither like that he believed his ex's words over his best friend's. Esp when he didn't date his ex for a long time.
As for h, didn't feel for her while she did undergo some difficult situations. Mabye because I was tired of her trespassing.
Yup. I still love reading books written by this author. They simply get better and better and I wish I had all the time in the world to simply sit back, relax and read every. Single. Day. But alas, I have to work and that seriously puts a cramp in my reading time. But with all that complaining, I have to say that Lani Lynn Vale thoroughly entertained me with this book.
Tyler is nothing like I could have imagined him – I mean, I ‘saw’ him in the previous books, got to like him, but for real, Too Bad So Sad made. Me. Want. Him. Like for real want him. I`m not into beards. I laughed at my dad (not in a mean way) because his beard makes him look like Wolverine, but Tyler **drools**. I need my own bearded man. Just so I can say I have one. And maybe even play with him every so often. Alright… alright.. a lot!
Reagan – well, she’s my kind of woman. She has no problems doing what she thinks is right and screw the consequences. Here she is, working on her thesis to get her degree in what i`m guessing is microbiology (because what do I know, right?) and she just waltzes on to Tyler’s property like she owned it.
One of the things that i`ve come to really enjoy from this author is her chapter prefaces. Those little ‘memos’ are secretly my own inner thoughts that I wish I could scream out at the top of my lungs but am simply too chicken crapped out to say. So book chapter prefaces it is and it bloody works.
I have really no idea where this author is going next with this series, but i`m really looking forward to diving right into her next book – whether it’s part of the Simple Man series or not, all I know is that it will be the greatest relief from real life I can get.
At face value, Tyler Cree and Reagan Rose Alvarez couldn’t be more different, and it’s not just because there’s a ten year age difference between them; it’s more due to their polar opposite personalities and Reagan’s inability to follow the letter of the law, since Tyler is a cop, because of her wild and free spirit that has her willingly taking risks regardless of the severity of the repercussions.
It’s clear, though, that despite their differences, Tyler and Reagan are drawn to one another in inexplicable ways, and while Tyler can deny his attraction and maintain his distance, it’s inevitable that the chemistry sizzling between them is going to force his head, but what remains unclear is if he can see past his bitterness when it comes to the opposite sex and give his connection with Reagan a real chance or if he’ll shut down and shut out what could be the best thing he’ll ever have.
There’s not a Lani Lynn Vale heroine who I haven’t liked, but some definitely stand out among the rest and I can wholeheartedly say that I have more than a bit of a girl crush on Reagan. She’s quite the complex character and she has a number of relatable characteristics that will resonate with readers. She’s shy but will defend herself and those she loves…she’s socially awkward and gets extremely anxious, but she can also own any room she walks into and with the kind of brash man that Tyler is, she isn’t afraid to tell him what’s on her mind, especially when she pisses him off.
Tyler Cree is an alpha male to his core, and with the amount of near death experiences he’s had as well as his military and SWAT team background, he’s all about protecting and serving, and he’ll fight tooth and nail for his family and his friends, but because he’s been burned and broken by a conniving and cheating woman, he refuses to get in deep with another woman, especially the pain in the ass trespasser who’s all about getting what she wants by some rather creative ways.
What I most love about Reagan and Tyler is that neither compromises who they are for the other one unless it’s a quality that needs some adjusting. At one point in the story, Tyler goes off on Reagan without knowing all the details that happened, which not only illustrates the differing ways they react to things but it also shows Tyler what he needs to change about himself to truly be connected to Reagan in all the ways he never knew he needed and wanted.
I love the tie-in that’s always there with other characters readers are more than familiar with…Janie has been quite the instigator in putting people together, which has been established throughout other story lines, so the fact that she’s up to it again when it comes to Tyler and Reagan’s relationship works nicely in this story and it forces the couple to face their true feelings for one another.
I would have liked to have seen a bit more insight into the reasons behind Tyler’s struggles and what makes him finally take a step forward rather than backwards as well as a closer look at the two sides of Reagan’s personality and how they work together since they’re on complete opposite sides of the spectrum. But the lack of further explanations didn’t deter my enjoyment of the story because the plot line flowed well and the characters’ interactions and internal musings allowed me to understand quite a bit about both Tyler and Reagan.
I can’t get enough of Lani Lynn Vale’s Simple Man series; I love the irony of the series title because when readers truly get to know these men, they are anything but simple, which makes these men extraordinary and the women who love them saints!
4.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
I loved Too Bad, So Sad by Lani Lyn Vale, it had everything I want to read in a story like this. The constant amusing banter between Tyler Cree and Reagan Alvarez had me laughing out loud at times. Reagan’s determination to complete her thesis at the expense of the law gave me the giggles and left a happy smile on my face. She was one determined little lady. After being burned once, Tyler’s had enough of pretty women and steers away from relationships, not wanting to let anyone get too close. But, Reagan keeps trespassing on his property and she’s hard to ignore. But he tries anyway!! Botanist, Reagan isn’t really interested in the handsome guy who makes her feel thinks she’s not felt before. She’s not used to guys like him, give her a plant and she’s fine. But a flesh and blood specimen is a whole new arena. She understand moss not men. Tyler always follows the rules, it’s the way he lives his life and he’s happy with it. Until Reagan comes traipsing through his yard. She’s enough to make him rethink all his ideas about what he wants out of life and when hers is threatened what will he do to protect her? I loved how these two played off one another and how their friends kept pushing them together. The constant push and pull plus the chemistry were all the perfect ingredients that make a great story. I absolutely adored it and the characters and was sad to reach the end.
I really loved Too Bad so Sad it was one of my favorites by one of my all time favorite authors . Even though this is part of a series it can be read as a standalone but I do recommend that you read them in order and while you are at it get Kill shot it's book six in the Code 11-KPD SWAT Series it focuses in the heroines father finding love . I fore real lurv the Alvarez family and I hope to see more of them in the future . One of the many things I love most about LLV writing is the hilarious banter and electric chemistry with future characters being introduced . We also get some pretty steamy sex scenes that will have you wanting to cool down with a sexy cop with a pantie dissolving beard , an added emotion I wasn't expecting was heartache and being frightened of reading Mess me up I can tell it's going to hurt my book lover soul but that's what you sometimes find in a LLV read and I just know that I want to take that journey even though it will brake me terribly . You don't want to miss out on this amazing story you should get this along with the rest of Lani Lynn Vales stories as soon as possible . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=10 heroine=10 secondary characters= 10 Chemistry= 10 steam= 8 romance= 8 humor=7 darkness level= 4 action=4 mystery= 4 enjoyment= 10 angst=3 story line= 10 Story ending= 10 character development= 10 pacing= 10 cover= 10 stars= 5 would I recommend this book= yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
I adored the banter and heat between Reagan and Tyler. It was bittersweet having this particular series come to an end but I am so so excited for what comes next!!
Side note: I’m also terrified for Rhys book. Something is off. 😳
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
For me all LLV’s novel begin great continue being great but the end makes me soooo mad I have no words to describe it. That’s the reason why I stopped reading her novels. Then I heard Joe Ardens drool worthy voice and thought to give it a try. Bigggg mistake. Or maybe it was a good thing because I’ll never read her books ever again. She is truly a Tried and Failed for me.
Spoilers ahead. The reason why I hated this novel.
The h is almost raped and then arrested, she is pretty shaken but is keeping it together.I won’t go into details. The the next thing we know, H comes barging in the police station, starts barking at her in front of his and her father’s colleagues before she can even open her mouth. See how much he loves her and how considerate he is.
So his friend tries to convince her to give H another chance then she tells him all that she went through and her cop father hears all this walks out, sits in H’s car and gives him his blessings. Fml.
She should have dumped him then because this was his nature. He did the same thing with his bff who was like his brother and a great human being. He cuts off all his ties with his bff and acts like he is dead without even giving him a chance to explain. All he heard was what his vindictive bitch of gf said, believes her and boom end of years long friendship.
But noooo.... she sees him in his car banging his dashboard and muttering to himself. Then he’s like you drive me crazy and I loose my mind blah blah blah... you see it’s her fault he behaves like a jerk . He doesn’t even apologizes to her and just hearing all this bs with no apologies she is crying and professing her love to him for the first time because he is so considerate and caring. FTS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my favorites in the series =D
How I laughed with this romance : - first their first meeting around the moss on the trees (I was laughing out loud when Tyler removes all the moss on all these trees xD) - then the second meeting in a cinema to watch a Marvel <3
Otherwise, it was the perfect recipe : a crazy ex, a fun AND endearing heroine, a cop AND biker hero, slightly crazy friends and a scary ending at first then cute.
As I read the series out of order, I don't always make the connection between all the characters BUT apparently I just read the story of Reagan's parents and I love following the stories of the different generations =D
Freaking Awesome. I think Tyler Cree is my favourite in this series.
Tyler Cree was a cop or should we say the chief of a town that was filled with corrupt cops. Now he is slowly building his police force up and he is happy with his life. He doesn't need anyone changing things up or him. Well until he met Reagan. If he ever met a stubborn women it was her, and he was not going to let her rule his life or change it... Yeah Right dude... Reagan came into his life like a hurricane, Stubborn, opinionated but also soft and quiet and exactly what he needed in his life. But after everything between them was sorted and Tyler had no choice but to accept his fate, now they had to deal with a physco ex who became a stalker and he doesn't know how far the douchebag ex will go to get what he wants, and what he wants is Reagan.
Loved Tyler and Reagan's story from the first page until the end. LLV gets you hooked and then you can't help but stay up till early hours of the morning, laughing to yourself and wanting to see where this story will end. Definitely my favourite series and I can't wait to read more of this authors books
We get to meet and learn about Tyler Cree in this book. Who is Reagan? I think I find myself fascinated with Reagan just in the first chapter alone, knowing what Reagan is talking about with regards to hydrilla verticillata. Having gone through the algae blooms in RL when living in Dallas, I understand. What is Reagan doing the first time she meets Tyler? The next time she runs into him is even more funny. I was tickled to find us based in Hostel. Who are Tara, Rome, Henley, and Alana? Where is Tyler when we meet them? Who is Dusty? What happens when he shows up at the bar on Regan's birthday? How does this end up ultimately changing the dynamics in the book? What do we learn about Tyler and Reagan as a result? Read and see! Just remember: Dog truly is man's best friend!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
Oh, Tyler Cree blew me away! I enjoy the stories by this author almost always, but Tyler just really had me in the palm of his hand the whole story -- especially after the last book with Coke & Cora. And then little Miss Reagan was trouble, but the best kind. The kind that keeps the Alphas in these books crazy and wound up.
I enjoyed this story’s plot as well as the pacing. It didn’t happen too fast, and it wasn’t drug out forever. I think the characters differences were so pronounced that the story had to almost write itself with how easily it read. It was like you could just imagine what Tyler would want from Reagan and she would do the complete opposite!
The drama was a little close to Coke & Cora’s book (which would take the one star way), but overall, I still enjoyed it. These alphas and their women can keep one entertained for years!!
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I liked how Tyler and Reagan met and Reagan's big FU to Tyler as she walked away. Reagan could have come off as a harpy shrew, instead to me it Reagan was more this is who I am, if you don't like me I don't care. Tyler really wasn't sure what to do with that kind of a woman, but he was intrigued. I liked how these two of them kept winding up in the same spots and how Tyler realized that the Reagan he met was the real woman.
I loved seeing Tyler fight his feelings for Reagan and how Reagan wormed her way in with flowers, a dog and Rome. All were good decisions for both of them.
The drama with Reagan's ex was crazy. How bad was it that the police couldn't do anything and make it stick, but liked how Tyler and Reagan's dad reacted.
The last chapter had me smiling, loved seeing Reagan and Tyler in the future happy in their lives.
Another perfect for each other couple that drive you nuts with their stubborness and make you sigh with their obvious love for each other. What Reagan had been through but still managed to pick herself up and follow Plan B made you cheer for her. She's wily, stubborn, focused and has a heart of gold. Tyler has also been through a lot in his life and was scorched by another woman and his best friend. Hes also wily, stubborn, focused and has a heart of gold therefore, its easy to see why these two are perfect for each other. My heart went out to Rome and his situation. Going to start Bear Bottom Guardians MC now.
I loved this two. Reagan and Tyler make an amazing couple and they made Too Bad So Sad a terrific reading.
I was a little sad because this was the last one in The Simple Man series, but Reagan and Tyler won me more than I expect and they left me with a silly smile with the cute epilogue.
Also, there is a a great introduction of Rome and a glimpse of Rhys - that got me very curious. Can't wait for their books.
