The exciting book written by John F. Grabowski about Lance Armstrong’s biography talks about several parts of Lance’s life and how he became a famous athlete. Lance Armstrong is born on the 18th of September, 1971 in Plano, Texas. Lance always dreamed of being the best cyclist in the world he did not just want to be good at it but the best. After his disappointing finish in the Olympics, Lance turned to be professional. Armstrong's first race was in Clasica San Sebastian, he finished last in that race out of 111 riders. Lance Armstrong did not give up and continued fighting for his place to be the best. Throughout his career, Armstrong started improving and was one of the best cyclists in the world. After winning the Tour de France, and several other tournaments, Lance Armstrong developed cancer on October 2nd, 1996 at the age of 25. Luckily Armstrong has survived cancer but still had to continue taking medicines and drugs that were needed for his body. Fighting cancer was very hard for Lance it weakened him physically and mentally, but he found a solution to beat the disease at all costs. Later after cancer, Lance signed a new contract with Cofidis after that his contract with the Motorola had expired. After his fabulous wins at the tournament, Lance returned to Austin, Texas and was welcomed by George W. Bush. Finally, in late 2005 after winning fabulous and incredible tournaments and trophies Lance retired from cycling after his last Tour de France. As a conclusion, Lance Armstrong was a very inspirational athlete, people should take an example from him, one of the examples is to never give up.


After reading the book about Lance Armstrong the reader clearly knows that the book is a biography because the author describes and talks about Lance Armstrong’s life. The author writes chapters describing and talking about several important events that happened in his life. Throughout the book, the reader would like an important thing about Lance Armstrong's life. The thing that reader would like is that Lance Armstrong never gives up. Lance went throughout several hard and painful moments in hi life. Lance, suffered cancer and harsh medication and still continued with his career. Before cancer, Armstrong always wanted to be the best. He would always finish last in his races but never gave up. Lance gave a famous quote that proved he always wanted to be the best. “I don’t want to just be good at it, I want to be the best.” Five facts that everyone should know about Lance Armstrong was that he is the only cyclist that won seven consecutive Tour de France. Lance’s father remarried to another wife and had two children, his mom married another man and adopted Lance. He joined Motorola team that made a professional cyclist out of him. He suffered cancer at the age of 25 and luckily survived it. The final fact is that he now owns a coffee shop in Austin, Texas. In conclusion, the book was written by John F Grabowski clearly shows that it is a biography about Lance Armstrong, Lance never gave up throughout his career as an athlete and finally Lance had several facts that people can get to know him more.


This amazing biography would be recommended to middle school students. It would teach them to never give up and fight for their goal. Lance Armstrong never gave up and reached his goal. Not only about goals, but Lance Armstrong's biography is amazing it would help them learn more about him and how did he become a famous athlete without giving up. The most exciting part of the book was when Lance did not give up and fought all the way in order for him to become a professional cyclist and participate in famous European tournaments such as Le Tour de France. The least exciting part, was when Lane was suffering cancer, he was at a party and start getting a headache, he then woke up the next morning and found out he had cancer. Thus, the amazing biography on Lance Armstrong would be very interesting to students in Middle School it would give them courage and reach their goals.
