High Command has finally realized that Sub-Lieutenant Cipolle is out of his depth, and have busted him back to the role of Investigating Sergeant.Shortly after Izzo's reinstatement an American sailor is executed in the middle of the day outside the village bar in Lucrino, and Cipolle is killed by a sniper later that same day. Izzo must work with a Senior Field Agent of the NCIS to discover the killer. This becomes a major problem for the Italian, because not only is the investigator a foreigner, she is also a feminist. To be successful, they must learn to work together, which is not an easy task.

About the author

Although educated in Classical Studies, Phil is the author of several historical crime novels. Having spent many years living in the Mafia infested hinterlands of Naples, Phil bases his novels on his experiences while living there. Much of what he includes in his stories is based on real events witnessed first hand.

Having retired from writing and editing technical documentation for a living, Phil returned to his Irish roots and now lives in Wexford with his partner and their border terriers, Ruby, Maisy, and the new addition Ted. He writes full time and where better to do it than in the Sunny South East of Ireland.

Another great read from the author

I loved this book. It took me into the heart of Neapolitan life, as well as through a story of burgeoning romance. It has all the elements of a great read: love, intrigue, crime and blood. I highly recommend!

Gripping Novel with LOL

Having spent many holidays in Naples and southern Italy I enjoyed this book Immensely the characters are colourful a good mix of crime whilst making me lol at times!!
