This is one I would recommend. A Taste of Temptation is a love story, but a forbidden love story. You have a story that crosses the boundary about race as this story is about a interracial couple Brandi and Tim. I was shocked when .

I liked the way he tried to fight for her. It showed me how much he loved her. However, she had every right to have the reaction that she had. She felt betrayed and not trustworthy. I think she got a little bit annoying near the end until they made up. I learnt that you should risk it all for love. Overall, a decent read.

This story plot/outline had such great potential... I am really bummed because I was looking forward to reading this book for awhile. I couldn't get passed the over use of the word "girl" in the dialogue. I wish the author would have taken us to when Brandi and Tim first met to see their chemistry. The writing was slow for me. I didn't feel any emotion or connection between the charcters. I couldn't even finish the book I started to get bored, which is too bad.

I give this story 3.0 stars, simply because I think the drama dragged on a little longer than necessary. It was still a decent read.

Brandi goes out to celebrate winning the prestigious "Seymour Scholarship" and the demise of her long time relationship with a lazy cheating boyfriend. In the first chapter, Brandi seems to be a mature woman furthering her education, but we soon find out she is 20 years old, living at home with her parents(her father is a prejudice over protective New York cop) and a irritating younger brother.

Brandi has a one night stand with a man named Jacob, who rocks her world. She later finds out that he is Dr. Timothy Polaris, her new professor. The chemistry they felt that one night is still there and simmering hot. The connection between them is so strong, Timothy decides to accept a professor position at Columbia University, so they can be together
Just when it looks like they can begin building their relationship, random acts of violence begin happening to Tim's cars and home. Tim's real fear comes, when he receive a note threatening Brandi's life. He is afraid for her safety and wants to slow things down until he can find out who is behind the threat.

Brandi is also catching a lot of flack. Her ex-boyfriend (Eric)is stalking her and her father is enraged at the idea of his beautiful, young African-American daughter dating a white guy. Not to mention, Tim had a few encounter with the law, in the past, and Brandi's father just happened to be the arresting officer.
The author spent way to much time bringing Tim's past indiscretions to the surface and she spends a lot of time making it look like Eric is unstable, without giving the reader any real insight to what he's feeling. Ultimately, Eric is just a spoiled rich kid, who has a difficult time accepting the fact Brandi has moved on to another man (a white guy, no less). The way his character just disappeared, when the real stalker was reveal, was definitely under-developed. The reader is just left hanging, thinking HUH! did I just miss something? I was left wondering, "So was the person arrested responsible for all of the random acts of violence too?"

Brandi's character was irritating, because she whined and cried too much. I recognized that she was young minded, although in many ways she was very mature. It made her character appear erratic, but I felt she was realistic, none the less. I could feel the intensity of the emotions between Tim and Brandi, but more focus should have been spent allowing the reader bond with them. The author spent so much time keeping the apart that their love seemed rushed in the end. Despite all this I still liked the story. It is not a must read, but it is a decent read on a rainy day.

This book had such great potential. I was very excited to read this book because I love romance stories that take place in a university setting. However, this book was such a great disappointment! The character development was lacking something fierce. The first chapter made a point to characterize the professor as being blunt and willing to put you in your place. Throughout the book he was a coward and was not willing to state his desires or opinions. Brandy was quite annoying as well because she kept putting herself in bad situations, (i.e. with Eric). Eric was an ass but Brandy didn't want to upset her father so she kept putting up with his shit. The book takes place in New York, which is a heavily populated area. But, Brandy and the professor just kept running into each other, which seemed a bit farfetched. The ending was horrible and did not provide the resolve I was looking for. In addition, Brandy was an adult but acted like a helpless child around her parents. The romance was not there and I was really let down by this book. As another reviewer stated, "this book is a hot mess!” I would not recommend this book to anyone; unless you like to be tortured!
