All they had to do was walk to school, which was simple enough. Not for Scarlett and Mason, it seems. Thirty minutes later they find themselves trapped - in the Middle-Ages.
Nothing seems half as much fun as it did a short while ago. Looking around, all the siblings can see is a forest. Scarlett and Mason will soon find out there is no escape from here for a swamp is all around them. Someone else dwells in these parts. The part man, part beast is roaming free. There are two secret tunnels, however. One will take them straight to their enemies. The other will take them straight to their other enemies. For now, they have no choice but to follow Tarragon to the hidden lair. The siblings have no idea of the trouble they are in until the members of The Highest Order approach them. Now everything is apparently obvious; they are stuck in the wrong lifetime with no way home.
Trisha J Kelly was born in London in 1959. She has worked in various places. No longer confined to 9-5 she is living her dream by writing, receiving great feedback and wishing she started sooner!
After always wanting to write books for children she is now doing just that. Life should be an adventure and the new series of Scarlett and Mason fantasy novels are designed to take you on a roller-coaster journey full of magical escapism and enjoyment. It's all there.
Trisha lived in Colchester Essex for over 50 years and has now relocated to Suffolk. Married with two adult sons and sharing life with two naughty ten-year-old Lhasa Apso dogs.
Growing up with just one younger brother who was always up to mischief was all the inspiration needed to turn the book dream into a reality. Plus a big imagination. The first in the series Discovering Witchetty Waters will transport you straight to another place where you will want to stay forever.
Trisha has now released six books in the Scarlett and Mason Series ... Discovering Witchetty Waters...In the wrong lifetime...The Rise of Sorcha...When some were missing...The Great Storm of 1397 and The Mystery of the Ancient Key.
Also, Trisha has released two Christmas books for children. 24 Sleeps to Go and Blinky, Nutkins and Friends. Also in 2018, she published two crime thrillers. Harry's Secrets and The Conflict.
She received two awards in 2018 'Best Children's Book 2018 and Best Juvenile Fantasy 2018 for books in her new series.
In 2019 Trisha will be releasing a YA trilogy, cozy mystery books and a new cold case mystery series.
This book carries on from the first story, so it's difficult to write a review without giving too much away! Scarlett and Mason's adventures continue, as they complete one task and start the next one. With each task they complete, a curse is lifted on one of the seven islands of Witchetty Waters, an alternate timeline is set and the world becomes a better place. All of the characters we met in the first book return, and some new characters are introduced in this book. Including the Satyr, who seems a little crazy at the beginning but becomes a decent human being by the end. Scarlett and Mason's characters also continue to evolve, with some interesting developments. I'm glad to say that Septimus Dread returns, with a surprising twist that doesn't disappoint. And a new, evil character turns up right at the end, Sorcha the Great Sorcerer, who is bound to create havoc in the next installment! This magical children's story continues to delight, I look forward to reading the further adventures of Scarlett and Mason.
When we left Scarlett and Mason in the first book, they were lost in the year 1379 after accidentally closing the time portal before it had been completely activated. Now they must figure a way of getting back home and carrying out more tasks to set the future on the right track. In this latest adventure we’re introduced to several new characters, as well as reunited with many of the ones from book one. The mad satyr – a man with a horse’s tail is one of the new characters, as is Sorcha the Great Sorcerer, which we will see more of in future volumes, I’m sure. After each new task, a curse is lifted on one of the islands, and the future looks better. So far there are six volumes in this series, so there are many more curses yet to be lifted, so stick around for the fun.
This was another fun read, with our youngsters discovering new adventures, friends, and adversaries. Children and adults will find this fantasy series a lot of fun. Highly recommended.
