Note: definitely not 232 pages. Just a lunchtime read - short story length.
Only OK.
So short that there was little character development - definitely just insta-love (though at least they did wait a few months before professing life-altering feelings for each other). Yet Lyssa (h) goes from having a nickname for being so quiet and 'goody-goody' to having a threesome with Cooper (H) and his roommate within a week of seeing him. Was a little too rushed to feel believable. Especially after just talking with herself about how she doesn't want someone with his history and record in her life? Riiiight.
And for the big drama with Cooper, he apologizes and says "I love you" and all is well? Again, too short a story for real character development, so this felt woefully underdeveloped and abrupt.
Also, a number of editing mistakes and spelling/word choice errors. For example, in conversations, new people speaking should begin a new paragraph, yet that little rule was overlooked regularly. That alone made certain sections confusing to read. For a story this short, proofreading should be a given.
Still, it was a short and relatively pleasant distraction, a tiny bit of escapism. No cheating (consensual threesome doesn't count) and no real angst. As H an HEA as you can get in a short story. Plus free on Kindle when I found it!
I was really into this book, until the roommate. It just turned me completely off. I turned off my reading device for a few days, thinking WTF, really. Then, I pick it back up just to finish it, ( which I rarely do once a book gets shut off). Now we get to the lame as F**k, was that really the ending?? Bummer, could have been so much better. I won’t waste my time again for this author.
