Below is a copy of my review of the first book of this series. Everything I said about that book also applies to this one. Characters and relationships continue to develop emotionally. This is refreshing to see as even novels that don’t incorporate an erotic element often have a hard time maintaining character development across sequels. I will also add that the twist at the end was an “oh snap” kind of awesome. It was the kind of ending that makes you really want to read the next book right away, without resorting being an annoying cliffhanger. Masterfully done. About the only negative thing I can say about either novels is that the cover art is pretty bad, and is no doubt hurting sales -- but don't let that fool you. The books themselves are awesome.

***Review of Book 1***

TL;DR: An intriguing premise, a compelling story, excellently written erotic scenes, and believable character interactions -- highly recommended for anyone looking for an extremely good fantasy erotica.

When it comes to fantasy erotica -- especially those written for or by men -- you usually find at least one of 2 things: 1) weak storylines that are little more than a flimsy excuse for the sex; and/or 2) weak characters that are flat, poorly characterized, and have little to no character development. The latter tends to be especially true with female characters, which often behave unrealistically, and are basically ambulatory blow-up dolls or sex bots disguised as characters. I'm happy to say none of these issues are present in this novel. The premise, plot, and execution is good enough that this novel would stand on its own as an excellent vanilla fantasy/sci-fi novel, even without the sex. Characters actually have believable personalities and undergo emotional and moral growth (or change, at the very least) throughout the story. The characters are good enough for the reader to easily become emotionally invested in what happens to them. And of course, the sex scenes are excellent, for those who are interested in such things. They are well written, detailed, and imaginative without being belabored, or repetitive. There is a smattering of typos and proofreading mistakes scattered throughout the novel, but such things are to be expected in a novel of such sizable length, published by an independent author. They are noticeable, but so numerous or glaring as to significantly detract from the experience unless one is an anal nazi about such things. This book series is one of the best fantasy eroticas have had the pleasure of reading. If this genre is something you enjoy, buy this book. ‘Nuff said.

I usually write my review right after I finish a book as it is still fresh in my mind. In this case though I was out of town and started reading another book already so my insights and feelings aren't as crisp. I thought this was a great continuation of the first book. The team was already assembled at the end of the first book and they already had a good idea of what they needed to do. I know there are 4-5 books in the series and I was a little surprised at how fast the team was assembling the crystal heart. That is of course right up until the end. The ending kind of changed things for me, it made me re-evaluate the where the series was taking me. I am still not quite sure how I feel about the ending and where the story is going to go in the next book. I am going to continue the series, but I will need a little break for now and try something new. The sex was again very hot and there was a lot of it. It did become a game of jenga/spatial orientation to figure out how there was enough room to do some of the stuff that was described in this book. It also was pretty amusing that the main power was giving women intense orgasms. Whenever he did anything with magic they felt intense pleasure. When he healed someone they had an orgasm, when he upgraded their abilities they had an orgasm. The more powerful the healing, the more powerful the orgasm. He could give a woman so much pleasure they would basically go into a coma for a period of time. If he were an X-man, I think his name would be Orgasmo.

A very good follow up book

A bit faster placed than the first book. I had the stop reading at 80% at 4:00 AM after telling myself I’d stop at midnight. I’m looking forwards to book 3 which I’ll buy right after I finish this review. Thanks for another great book worth the sleep loss Prax.

Wonderful Fun

I so wish that a game like this really did exist, I would be spending countless hours if not days hanging out with my cat-girl. Such a wonderful story looking forward to reading the next story.

I have been fortunate to be allowed early access to both this book's and its predecessor's manuscript. Although I was given early access to the manuscript, I bought my own copy of this book. The author did not give me a copy if this book in trade for a review. The author was kind enough to consider my editing suggestions, and even gave me a shout at the beginning of this book. This book is significantly better than the first of the series. The author learned from many of his mistakes in the first book, and took a lot of the creative criticism to heart. The characters in this book are better fleshed out and do not seem like shallow two dimensional props for the main character. Good action throughout the book with minimal wasted ink on writing that does not advance the story. I really like the Ahnix and Vale characters (I have always had a soft spot for naga for some reason) but still do not really care for Roo. In this book Roo is better fleshed out and does not appear as the irritating sidekick the main characters can't get rid of. Some good suspense in this book and good cliffhangers where you were not sure what was going to happen. I love the fact that this author placed a giant naga in the snow and in a unique setting at the ending - a first for a naga I believe. I look forward to the next book in the series and hope that the author will be kind enough to let me read the early manuscript again.

Enthralled Sexy Monster Girls

A fight to save the world from the cruel succubus and more insane monsters while having sex with 3 enthralled monster women, trying to save tares in the reality of the game world.
The ending is crazy.

I am not as thrilled by some of the crazy fights, but it was offset with tons of sex.

Even better than the first.

I can't really write a good enough review because as soon as I'm done, I'm gonna get the next one. I didn't see ANY of that coming. It starts fast, but the last third was insane.

Wow what a ride!

An excellent second book that closes a chapter in the story but opens a whole new world of exciting possibilities. I’m really looking forward to see where the story brings us next

Very enjoyable

I liked the sequel a lot, and would strongly recommend it, this is an easy to read adult adventure and I have already bought the third look.

Without the litporn, this might be a pretty weak story, but with it, and the care shown between the characters during the scenes, I think it holds up.

Rape is not OK.

Ever.

(Also, why is there a 20 word minimum for reviews? This is not school, it is a stupid rule)

Just...meh...My rating on the first book wasn't great but I thought maybe I just wasn't in the right mind for it. This one didn't seem much better so I think I'll drop this series.

I Loved this book. I want to give it 5 stars.
-on rereading this book, it's good not great-
Let me remind every writer out there that erotic & Grimdark do NOT work together.-
(now back to the review from 2018)
This is a great book, and a wonderful sequel. I had a 5 star reading experience until that God Damned, bait and switch, bullshit, M. Night Shyamalan ending!
I loved nearly everything about this book right up to the last few pages.
Glancing over the other reviews, No one else seems to have minded so maybe you should take my indignation with a grain of salt.
Full disclosure; Although I'm ticked off, I am going to read the next book. I love the dynamic between the characters, and this is possibly the sauciest of the LitRPG Harem novels.
EDIT: 3 years later. I've reread this book hoping to get past the part I hate to go forward with the rest of the series. That horrible end was less of a shock but still pretty crumby. The lead up to the end, the last quarter, or final act drags by and is unnecessarily gruesome. The thing that grieves me about that end is that it makes everything pointless. What a bad decision by the author.
