What this book talks about : Friendship, first love, bullying, bodyshaming, struggles of teenagers, unrealistic expectations regarding career & academic choices, how our lives get shaped growing up with comparisons with unrealistic perfect lives of others; also Alzheimer's disease & death. This book revolves around four friends Sia, Ritvik, Apurv & Amyra. The book starts with a heartbreaking two - paged prologue taken out from somewhere happening in the book.
👍 Awesome way to catch hold of the reader's attention.
👍The plot is realistic right from the very beginning.
👍 The Blue Whale challenge about ciber suicide challenge which took so many lives in real has been aptly fitted in the storyline.
👍 Yes, friendship can happen between a boy and a girl without going into a one-sided love relationship or into a relationship 'obviously'.
👍 The feelings & the choices of a teenager are dealt in a mature way. The book is a way of expressing arguments & discussions of various issues mentioned as above.
👍 The poetry jotted down here & there is genuine & relatable. However, some parts where proposals in the name of declaration of love is not realistic. Seems a bit cheesy & teenagers do not usually go for that in public in most cases.
👎It felt like the writer was rushing into making one of the main characters suffer from a rare disease just to twist the story around. But well, the last few pages were worth it. Overall, it is a good read regarding all the issues discussed from a young person's point of view.
After a few years, if someone will ask me the story of this book, I don't think I'll remember it, just like the previous ones I read by Sudeep Nagarkar. The author tried to mix the American high school drama in an Indian setting that didn't work. I won't recommend this book to anyone.
the story follows a typical sudeep nagarkar style..... I have the right to say that because i have been reading quite a lot of his books and it is my sixth book of his. > a parallel love story with an unintentional love triangle attached to any one of those. > secondary focus on friendship > a lot of love quotes and poems > obviously a twist in the end........ although it is not a stereotypical Indian novel, I am quite impressed but I can't say it became my favourite..... actually, the story is about apurv and amyra and sorry to say their love story is the prime reason why I gave it 3 stars...... amyra is my least favourite female protagonist in all of his books....... its alright author has given a justification not to hate her at the end of the book, still I can't help but to hate her ....... Sia is the most adorable and realistic character in whole book. the chemistry between sia and ritwik is really so enchanting to read, I think I have finished the book just to find out what has happened with ritwik and sia..... overall, a good novel with a romantic love story which may not suit all the tastes but definitely worth reading if you are expecting something which is out of the league of monotonous and mundane love stories because the novel is nowhere in comparison to routine Indian romance genre......
OH MY LORD!!! What have I just become, a complete emotional wreck. Never have I ever felt so connected so emotional and so heartbroken by a book. I should say this was my first, and it was by this awesome author. The words were just so simple but yet they had this immense emotion in them. How was any of this possible, such a beautiful story, and such great characters. All the essence of love and friendship in just one story, that too so well explained. The characters, and the way they interacted with each other, is well depicted and is in the same way, how we people would be reacting, with our hearts and our egos. The author not only specified on relationships, but also has written about the struggles of every girl in this society, how we are named and shamed based on our body and our appearances. How every girl break within and yet she gets ready for a new day, hoping it would be at least a bit different. The book emphasises on depression and what a wreck we become, and the decisions we make then are always the worst. It is true that in this world where each and every action of ours is judged, there are only a few people before whom we stay true to ourselves true to our nature and that is someone whom we call as our friends and our love……. We are very lucky if we have these few trusted ones with us… Each character in this book is a strong and bold one, the way each character faces the difficulties is amazing. The two female characters, Sia and Amyra, are truly going be an inspiration to many girls who read this book….. The author is truly an exceptional one, the feelings and the poems in this book are really truly mind blowing….. it’s like the words enter through your eyes, but instead of registering into your brain, the take a deep dive into your heart…. ☺️ “Inside she’s a wreck When you see her she looks perfectly fine Deep down her mind is a mess, When she’s with you she looks happy But she’s alone; fragile, The girl with broken dreams; defeated by destiny She wants to escape from the people around, To a city unknown And perhaps one day, When you ask her ‘are you okay?’ For once, she’ll say, ‘I’m fine.’ And it wouldn’t Be a lie.” Coming to my rating : out of 5 stars Title : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️interesting Cover :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ attractive Character development :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️there is nothing I can say I didn’t like Writing style :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️just a fan, is all I can say Originality :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plot :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️this is truly one I would recommend each one to read……

True friendship knows no timing, no fear, no boundaries. Well in this book the journey of friendship and falling in love has been described very nicely. It is a mixture of love, friendship, loss, pain, betrayal which is nicely portrayed. The characters described in this book Amyra, Sia, Ritwik, Apurv is so realistic that instantly you start imagining about them, their bond with each other, their pain and enjoyment among themselves. Close friends are truly life’s treasures. Sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us, to share our laughter and our tears. Their presence reminds us that we are never really alone. Especially the bond between Apurv and Ritwik is very naturally described as they not only handle themselves properly but also takes care about others very caringly and lovingly.
A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you. A friend is someone who makes it easy to believe in yourself. Sia's character is very lively and is very beautifully described. The way she has controlled herself in difficult and complicated situations and her emotions is really worth reading.
It is not really that easy to fathom when you are detected with a very rare disease but still Amyra made sure that she lived her life to the fullest as she had many more plans to cover up and she bounced back like a true champion; as she didn't let her disease dampen her mood and happiness to live her life as she wanted.
And last but not the least very nicely said – Till there is life, there will be struggle; and till there is struggle, there will be life!
True friendship knows no distance. Not the miles, not the hours and circumstances that try to drive a wedge between. True friendship knows no separation. Not when the visiting becomes less frequent—still, the bond is there, is strong, and will continue. True friendship knows no goodbyes. No matter how far apart, they stay in connection.
It was a light and fast read. In the end, it really got emotional. . Well, I really didn't like the title at first, but as I had nothing to do, so I read the whole book during a short trip. . If Amyra, one of the main four characters wouldn't be revealed by the author as an Alzhymeir's patient, I was really gonna throw this book away. . This is the first book by Sudeep Nagarkar that I read and I realized that he writes for teenagers. Had I read it earlier, 7-8 years ago, my review might be different certainly. .
So , to begin with ...the book was way too quick to read , hardly to be considered as a novel. The beginning was okay the middle became kinda tolerable but the ending was appropriate. Only Ritvik seemed to be the rational one rest of the characters where somewhere between the hurricane of emotions , which is acceptable seeing the age group they belong to. Read 2-3 works of Sudeep Nagarkar and you will be able to predict the story. Overall a one time read kind of book and most probably a shorter version of novel ;)
Review- She friend-zoned my love is a story of Amyra, Sia, Apurv and Ritvik. Everyone has different sort of goals and challenges in their life. Sia is a chubby girl who hates herself but on the contrary, Amyra is a glamorous good looking girl. They were in the same school but Amyra left the school.
Again they met in the college but at the starting Sia couldn’t make friends because of her chubby body. Almost all the students used to make fun of her. At that time Apurv and Ritvik came in her life like saviours. They became best friends and Amyra joined their group afterwards. Then the story keeps on going.
Firstly, I liked the cover but It could have been better. But the title completely justifies the storyline. The plot is splendid that’s why I finished the book just in a day. Every chapter comes with surprises and twists. The author has successfully given the message to a stereotyped society. The way he explained the parent’s expectation, social obligation and dreams creation is beautiful.
The flow of the book is smooth. The characters that the author developed were amazing. One can take time to understand the storyline at the starting but after getting the storyline anyone can easily connect with the story. I liked the Amyra’s character the most.
The writing style of the author is very lucid and simple. He used some slang words so that reader can easily relate with the story.
Overall, Its a wonderful book with a strong plot, crisp narration, simple language and with amazing characters.
The story is only half of "friend-zoning", other is about coming over the pressure of the typical bullied-pressured teens.
The writing... Either it is highly edited or it should've been more detailed by the author.
And of course, the book will remind of a popular 2016 Hit Bollywood movie by a famous director. The main concept is the same, not taking in the age of the characters.
***SPOILERS AHEAD*** Maybe I would have liked it if I had read it when I was in school. 1. The writing style of Sudeep is awful. I don’t understand why people love it especially adults. 2. Apruv and Sudeep both are terrible writers. 3. Every advice or thing he had written about relationships and love is bu**s**t. 4. With every chapter I read I felt more like an idiot. Dumber than the author to decide to read this book. 5. The story is unrealistic and every message he wants to convey about love yourself, being strong is ineffective. 6. Including Blue whale game in the book was the worst decision. Sia took the challenge because author wants us to think she was depressed enough to take such step and I did not felt like that instead she accepted it because she was afraid of facing people, not depression ,she was conscious enough to understand what’s going and she had to kill herself but by the end of the game she changed her mind. I think Sudeep should have done some more research about the game and depression. 7. The first half of the book is like a fairy tale and the second half is like a Bollywood movie [Maybe inspired from October (2017)] 8. This author should start writing Anime stories or fairy tale because all he wants from you is to like this book because of Sia (a weak girl who was being bullied and afraid of self-acceptance) and a Amyra (another mysterious girl suffering from Alzheimer [pretty much predictable] at such a young age and afraid of telling her friends because the author thinks it made her strong and the story interesting but I don’t think so, real courage lies in showing your true-self not suffering like this.) and I can’t like a book because I sympathized on a disease and a person suffering from it. 9. If you had watched Still Alice you will know how painful Alzheimer is for people who are suffering from it and for their love ones and I feel that Sudeep has insulted the disease by writing such a pathetic story about it. He should have written about the pain her parents felt but all he wants to write about was teenage love and sex. I don’t get it what is going with everyone India instead of getting mature everyone is stuck with love and sex. 10. I think the whole point of writing this book was to get a Bollywood movie. 11. If Amrya knew she had Alzheimer why did she sign up for the play and four years with Alzheimer, and she said ‘I love you too’ to Apruv before dying because he cared for her is all BS. In Alzheimer people forget things within seconds and what about her parent’s pain and her sister. 12. Indian parents care a lot about their children and if they knew she had Alzheimer then they would not have let her go alone and how did she go back home. How did she mange anything because reminders and notes are no enough to take you to places. 13. Maybe you would like this book because you get emotional or you think the story was interesting in the beginning but for me the only good thing about this book was a note written by Amrya to her mother in the end. It was the only thing very well written with an emotional touch, the note which Amrya left to Apruv was not so good ,it was messed up and unclear. 14. I can’t believe that anyone will believe in this story. It’s my first and last book from this author , I’m not reading anything from him until he realise what is reality and start writing something rational and mature because including sex,Eff words, love and friendship does not build up a mature story.

Honestly 2.5 it is definitely better than "she swiped right into my heart".. the plot points feel rushed.. that characters feel inconsistent... Might make you nauseous... The ending is mid... Some lines are decent... Would recommend if you want to read a shitty book to lower your expectations
BookReview: I have read a book almost a week ago but unable to compile a review because i don't like it much and give it only 3/5 to it on goodread. It was my first book by Sudeep Nagarkar. His writing style is good but i consider it as a simple story. It's a friendship and love story with a tragic ending. In this book story of school friends has shared and they separated dramatically before their end of school. And later two of them met in college while the main reason was misssing till the end. The other school friends remained disappeared and other two new characters came in story. A story of friendship and love, but hardly to understand it as YA love novel. A story which is bonded with friendship till the end. The thing i love in the book was that how a friend given confidence to the other one. When she was dissapointed from life, took blue whale challenge and going to commit suicide because she look fat and the fat was the reason to loose confidence and remain behind from the society. But his confidence made her strong and successful in life as well. 'You are not fat, you have fats' was the line i love, because fatness or the looks never be a reason to leave the world. In which state you are, you are perfect. The ending of the book which I felt is a bit dicey. The book ends on a completely different note than what was expected. The title don’t truly reflect what is inside the book. There are two different stories while in blurb only one has been mentioned, i find the other story one more interesting whichis not mentioned out. Because I'm annoyed from the stories the boy loves the girl and she friend zoned him due to a venanimius diseases and kept the diseases secret and her sister open up the secret after several months. Just like an Indian serial at the end the disease revealed to others and she is nice to all and old school friends come to meet her and new friends loved her a lot.
Book Name : She Friend-Zoned My Love Author Name : @sudeepnagarkar Publisher Name : Penguin Metro Reads Price : 199/- Page No : 207 Pages

Because in school Amyra ditched a boy and vanished from school without telling anybody her whereabouts. It's a mystery that why she disappeared suddenly from school.
Pros : • Easy to read. • Clear narration.
Cons : • The story reflects typical Bollywood movie scenes. • Not so mature storyline.
My Review : The book is a beautiful mixture of love and friendship. I like the bonds between the characters. But somewhere I felt it's a Bollywood movie plot. Teenagers will enjoy it the most. Being an avid reader I think the plot is not that mature.
It’s so funny how everything in this life can seem so small when you look death in the eye. We live our entire lives trying to achieve useless goals, when in reality they don’t matter. Live in the moment, live now, and be happy. Go lie under the stars and listen to the songs of the universe. The stars have been around for far longer than us and will exist even when we cease to. I’ll be looking at you, Apurv, from above, reminding you that till there is life there will be a struggle; and till there is struggle, there will be life. Stop wasting time worrying about things that don’t matter and just enjoy life. Find yourself, chase your dreams and smile. Be happy, be free and be yourself, for that is all you can be. Don’t shed a tear because I am gone; smile because we got to spend time together. Tell Ritvik and Sia to be happy and have at least a dozen kids- By Amyra
The author takes us on a journey into the intricate lives of six teenagers in India. He presents their idiosyncrasies and individual challenges precisely. Apurv is a brilliant writer in the story. Apurv uses writing as a catharsis and he starts a blog to find a girlfriend. Humorous, but let’s not judge him yet. The author reveals the challenges he encounters as he decides to accost the girl of his dream. He eventually gets her but she ends up in his nightmares too. I admire Arpuv’s resilience. The author shares with us some of Arpuv’s poems. They are so deep and reflective and I love them. Sia is Apurv’s best friend or was she? She is a chubby, cute overprotective, conflicting character with impeccable fashion acumen. Sia feels she’s invisible to everyone except when she’s bullied because of her weight then she gains the spotlight. Her agonies are oblivious to her parents as they are concerned solely about her education and future. She’s faced with the challenges of convincing her parents about her fashion capabilities and accepting herself for who she is. But for Apurv she almost gave up on everything. Ritvik is a staunch friend of Sia and Apurv. Following the wishes of his parents to study a program he’s not in love with, he tries to understand life. Ishaan and Pihu are Amyra’s boyfriend and best friend respectively from her alma mater. Their friendship came to a demise due to a reason that haunted Amyra till the end. Amyra is the girl of Apurv’s dreams. She’s a beauty with a beautiful mind. I only wish things could have been better. The author navigates through their lives with meticulous scrutiny and sympathy, trying to understand their pain and giving them hope. In every chapter, he enlightens the reader on how to overcome life’s challenges. My favorite character is Apurv.
Sudeep Nagarkar's 'She Friend-zoned My Love' left me breathless and tearful. This poignant novel masterfully weaves a tale of unrequited love, tugging at my heartstrings and refusing to let go. The author's skillful storytelling transported me into the lives of the characters, making their pain and longing feel intensely personal.
As I turned the pages, I found myself invested in the protagonist's journey, experiencing the highs and lows of love, friendship, and heartbreak. The writing is evocative, and the characters' struggles resonated deeply. I mourned the loss of beloved characters as if they were dear friends, a testament to author's ability to craft relatable, three-dimensional personalities.
What struck me most was the book's unflinching exploration of the complexities of love, friendship, and the blurred lines between them. Sudeep Sir tackles these themes with sensitivity and nuance, raising essential questions about the human heart's capacity for love and resilience.
My only reason for deducting a half-star is the narrative style, which, while accessible and easy to follow, felt somewhat simplistic for my taste as a proficient reader. However, I recognize that this simplicity will make the book an enjoyable and effortless read for many Indian readers and those new to reading.
Overall, 'She Friend-zoned My Love' is a captivating, emotionally charged read that will linger in your thoughts long after finishing the book. If you're prepared for a heartfelt, sometimes painful, but ultimately uplifting journey, then this book is for you.
This story is between the three friends called Sia, Apurav, and Ritvik. Sia is a fat chubby girl who is bullied in her previous school. Because of constant bullying, she loses her confidence. In her new college, she meets Apurav and Ritvik. And they become best friends. In Apurav's company, she accepts herself as it is since Apruv instills confidence in her and Ritvik accepts her as it is. They both don't judge her the way she looks and that's what she likes about them. But then one day an old friend of Sia from her school called Amrya takes the admission in the same college as Sia. Amrya is a beautiful girl. She is that kind of girl everyone aches for. One day in canteen Apurav sees Amrya and he falls for her. From that day, he tries to strike a proper conversation with her but fears the consequences. Because of Amrya the equation between the three best friends i.e Sia, Apurav and Ritvik changes. Sia knows Amrya is not the perfect girl for Apurav. Sia knows once she ditched a boy called Ishaan from her school and vanished from school not telling anybody even her best friend Pihu. Is Amrya hiding something? Why she disappeared from school suddenly? I liked the book. I really like the Sia's character though she is not the main female protagonist. This was a fast-paced read for me. I enjoyed it.
Apurv, a charming guy and gifted writer. Like most of the teens, he also longs to have a girlfriend. Amyra, a beautiful and flawless girl with a perfect life. Apurv falls head over heels for Amyra. But soon he realise she is not interested him. Will Apurv be able to change her mind or would he be Friendzoned forever? . This book felt nothing less than watching a movie. The characters were just perfectly developed. The writing style is quite good and you can totally feel the emotions overpowering your mind. The story line is amazing and I totally loved it. The friendship and college fun portions were my favourite. The ending was totally unexpected and there came a point when I actually cried. Overall it was an amazing read.

The story follows the protagonist as he navigates the blurred lines between friendship and love, ultimately finding himself in the dreaded friend zone. Nagarkar skillfully captures the emotions and struggles of the characters, making the narrative relatable and engaging. While some may find the plot predictable at times, the author's storytelling prowess and insightful portrayal of human emotions make it a worthwhile read for fans of the romance genre. Overall, "She Friend-Zoned My Love" is a heartfelt tale that explores the intricacies of love and friendship in a modern setting.
Apruv is desperate for a girl who keep record when girls talk to him, stalk face book profile, wait outside there house and even used fairness creams I really thought she was kidnap at pg 17 🙄 that blue whale game shit brings back memories where everyone is talking about it and this book is a total shit again I usually divide my chapters so that i could read them according to my time but this book didn't mention chapter no. Idk why sia refused to help apruv after she get to know about his love for amyra 🙄 Everyone is childish and storyline is the worst of all but atleast its not a bestseller like *it started with a friend request* was
Thats it i have no patience to read this book anymore its so bad I am leaving it at starting of chapter named as not sad but ain't happy either
This is a book about teenage romance and the phase and problems they have to face. It is written by an Indian Author so the characters and the problems are very relatable. I loved this because I’m also a college student and I can relate to that situation. So the author kept it very simple and it takes you on a ride of society issues, friends, relationships, trauma, stress etc. This is a good book for beginners who have just started to read as it is a light and easy to read book. The author has given light to many issues which happen in the society about weight issues, dark colored skin and judging by the clothes.
The book deals with Friendship, Love, Emotions and Breakup. Everything that you could imagine in book based on love. The book starts with very simple, but short and sweet way of introducing the characters. As there are not much of the characters and the book revolves around only a few main people, the story too is simple and short and keeps you engaged when you start the book. But, in the middle you may get lost. But as the story continues further the book attracts you and make you engaged again.
Overall, we could say, yeah the book's good. You should read it.
Okay see, I get the thing about genz love and all that. But man if I find that one annoying girl character, imma just finish her. She friendzoned by love is somewhat a different kinda story with a sad ending. The plot is kinda good but the activities that the characters do in this book are not what School kids at 16 do. And that annoying character is a certificate pick me, the boyfriend's girl bestie, that lil girl raised my blood pressure so much that I wanted to personally go inside the book and just finish her. But overall it was a chill read and you can read it in a day . 3/5
It was time reading one of Sudeep Nagarkar's book. And it turned out to be an exciting journey. I kept turning the page and the story kept me engrossed the whole time. It is a simpe story that was weaved magnificently. Each and every sentence was written so well. The theme of the book, Friendship and Love which even motivates the main characters to complete their journey.
I was not sure to rate it 3 stars or 4. I actually had this book with me for a while but when I first took to read it the book didn't give me than feeling to read more. Recently when I was home having no book to read rather than this that is when this book fascinated me. A cute teenage love story which also includes insecurity of some characters, bullying and such topics that teenagers can relate fast.
The book is a total disappointment, reinforcing every stereotype about Indian romance authors. The writing is weak, with absolutely no character development. All you get are clichéd Instagram/Facebook-style quotes repeated over and over, most of which make no sense.
I can confidently say this has been my worst read of the year, and I won’t be picking up another novel by Sudeep Nagarkar. Wish I could rate it in negatives.
True friends always there in your life happy or sad. They will make it through your past. Don't doubt your friends, don't angry with them for the silly things that does give a fuck to you later you will regret in your life.
