I was given this for my seventh birthday and adored it on first sight! I've read it so many times since, often multiple times a year. It was my first introduction to two of my most cherished authors, K.M. Peyton and Christine Pullein-Thompson, who filled my childhood with piles of excellent pony stories. Carol Fenner doesn't seem to have written another horsey book, but the one she did write is excellent.

At this point my copy of this is pretty tattered and worn, and I've had to hold it all together with tape, but it remains one of my all time favourites. 🐴
