Heroes need to be prepared for anything, which means having the right weapons and gear on hand at all times. The well-stocked pages of this book hold an impressive inventory of merchandise to get you into and out of all manner of trouble, including:
A caravanload of equipment, trade goods, alchemical items, poisons, mounts, and vehicles.
Over 230 magic weapons and armors, such as the flameshroud axe, lance of the unending charge, and vampire hunter armor.
Over 125 magic items, including new artifacts, such as elixir armor, rings of the hive mind, the ghost rod, and the bag of endless caltrops.
Rules for vehicle combat on land, sea, and air.
Within these pages, players and Dungeon Masters will find what they need to outfit their characters for nearly every contingency.
To use this accessory, a Dungeon Master also needs the Player's Handbook and the Dungeon Master's Guide. A player needs only the Player's Handbook.
Most DM's can skip this assuming they can answer player questions like, "Can I have claws like Wolverine, and how much damage do they do?" or, "How does my dwarf make replacement parts for stone armor? (Find stone, shape, and polish.)
A grab bag of stuff in the tradition of the original Unearthed Arcana. Equipment art is decent; the rest is abysmal. If you're wondering if Hippocampi can be domesticated, this volume is for you.
This book adds new gear, mounts, and vehicles to the arsenal of your players, the gripe I have is that some of the supplements can completely tilt the class balance of the game
4.5 Stars. A great supplement I reference frequently. Not necessarily a must-have in the modern day when anyone can just Google interesting and obscure weapons but it will always have a place on my shelf before it's wealth of often overlooked pieces of equipment and that's not even considering the more empowered items.
Basic Premise: A comprehensive guide to items both magical and mundane for 3.5 Edition D&D.
Highly useful and really the only way to shop for character equipment. It's also very handy for GMs looking to spice up their game with custom items, something players have never seen before, or generally give their bad guys an edge.
