Very useful, detailed background on every aspect of this subject! The organization threw me off as the tales of the prisoners ended with a series of chapters on specific aspects and roles in prison life, ending abruptly with the chapter about schoolmasters and teaching (in which some information previously related as part of the descriptions of prison life was repeated in these topic-specific chapters). A good, informative read!
