Lachlan desperately wants to protect Jessie from the men hunting her down, but who is going to protect her from the vicious animal he has lurking inside? Is Jessie running from one monster to another?
Features a new crew in a brand new town! Perfect for fans of my Colwood, Montana series.
A hot, new paranormal romance writer who loves Werebears and the tough, BBW that can handle them.
Her latest series is Smokejumpers: Werebear (Bear Shifters of Flathead Forest) a cast of fun, lovable and sexy smokejumping shifters. Each book focuses on a different member of the crew and the women that they fall for.
This was a quick read that I ended up enjoying a little more than I’d expected. I loved the relationship between Jessie & Lachlan. Although they’d been away from each other for eight years, it seemed as if they’d never missed a day. The romance was amazing... & by “romance”, I mean sex scenes! They were HOT, I must say. I had to fan myself a few times. I’m not a huge fan of shifter books, but I did thoroughly enjoy this one & will definitely be continuing the series. I’m curious to learn more about the other Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek!
Love this new crew in Redemption Creek, Montana....Rugged bear shifter cowboys.
Lachlan is drowning out his woes everyday, feeling guilt over the death of his best friend and missing the only female to ever make feel whole, but she was only around for a couple of weeks and that was enough to set him for life. But that was 8 years ago and he swears he would never have been good for her anyway not with the beast he has inside him.
Jessie can't run fast enough from the arranged marriage her dad set up for her to a mobster no less! She runs from the church and her destination is unknown until she remembers her first loves oath to protect her if she ever needed it..She shows up at Redemption Creek bridal dress and all and the first sight she see is of a bigger, sexier version of Lachlan, he never looked better and the pull is still there for both, it's as if time stood still only they are not teenagers anymore. Will her jinxed brides groom find her, or will she take off running when she sees Lachlan's bear?
Will jessie pull Lachlan out of his funk, and make him realize that he is really a teddy bear at heart?
An interesting start to a new series, and the first book of the series is Lachlan and Jessie’s story. I liked the story and the characters, it was an interesting setting between the mafia and shifters. The storyline was entertaining and sweet, there was some action, danger, and romance, but it was also about second chances. Lachlan is a bear shifter that has suffered loss and holds a lot of guilt. And feels that his bear is dangerous and uncontrollable, until he sees a face from the past and everything changes. Jessie’s dad is part of the mafia and was given to a rival as a peace offering. Needless to say she doesn’t agree and goes on the run, to the one man whose always held her heart. I loved Jessie and her verbal diarrhoea, it’s halarious. The two of them together are just adorable. I do however feel that story could have been stronger in parts but nevertheless it was still an enjoyable read. A copy was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book with my honest opinion.
What a great start to a new series. This is Jessie and Lachlan story and it's such a great story. Jessie is a girl trapped in her life. Her father is a mob boss and he's ordered her to marry another bad guy. What's a girl to do in her wedding day to a mob boss? Why run like the wind straight back to the one man she's always loved. Lachlan has been in a funk for eight years every since the day Jessie left. When she shows up in a wedding dress looking a mess he knows she needs him. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe even from himself. When the mob finally catches up to her all heck will break lose. Can Lachlan keep her safe from the cats hunting her? Can he keep his bear from eating her and not in the good way?
Not sure what to make of this series just yet. But I enjoyed what I read so far plus I'm a sucker for second chances at love story. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
An escapee bride with cruel mobsters on her trail and a sweet grizzly shifter make this a terrific story which I enjoyed reading, but....
Jessie is a desperate woman running away from the church where the wedding forced on her by her cruel and controlling mob boss father Emanuele Marchesi to the equally cruel and ruthless crime lord Luca Capuano, was about to take place, holding one of Luca's enforcers at gunpoint and making her getaway in a limousine that left smoke behind it's squealing tyres. She knew she was a dead woman after publicly humiliating both mobsters in front of more than a thousand guests and she had to get out of Chicago, Now!, but where could she go? Yep, of course, that disgusting and ugly town was definitely the place for people who didn't want to be found, the place her seventeen year old self fell in love, to the guy her adult self is still in love with who said he'd protect her. Despite her fear and panic, it's obvious she's learned a thing or two about how to disappear, doing all the right things to escape, right up to the point she leaves her car at the start of her journey, going to a town with a changed name, still in her wedding dress, practically guaranteeing she'd be remembered... and she's in for something of a shock when she gets there...
Grizzly shifter Lachlan has spent the last eight years thinking about the special girl he fell in love with when he was seventeen, always hoping she'd come back, and the last two years of it trying to drink himself into oblivion after his bear goes wild and..., well, you'll just have to read it for yourselves, but the very last thing he expects to see on his way to his truck is her.....
I'm not giving spoilers, and I absolutely loved the story but.... Having read a lot of books by Kim Fox, one of my favourite authors, and totally loved them all, I really wasn't expecting the edge of the seat, adrenaline pumping opening scene of 'The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan', the first book in her brand new paranormal romance series The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redempion Creek. The emotions just pulled me in and I felt her panic as though it was my own. Nor was I expecting it to be written in first person, present tense narrative, which always makes me feel uncomfortable, like I'm reading someone else's diary or the script for a play, I was expecting it to be written in the third person, since the vast majority of the books I've read by her are written that way, but at least it has alternating points of view and it was a terrific story with humour, action, steam and the happily ever after I've come expect, and I enjoyed it. I loved Jessie and Lachlan is really sweet, but he really doesn't know his bear very well. They're both a little misguided and a lot short on trust, but in the end, that's what it comes down to. Caleb and the twins, Tito and Ronin, were like bickering kids but I liked them a lot. Maximus too, but he needs to practice what he preaches and again, it comes down to trust. Lachlan's mom was a sweetie and Kneecap... yep, Kneecap is something else.... and I found myself wondering what had happened to him and if there was hope for him in the future. I can usually ignore the first person narrative and fall into a really good story, which this undoubtedly is, but despite that, it kept leaping out at me at odd times and ruined the flow. It was a very good story, first person views aside, and I've given it 4 stars, but personally, I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it'd been written in the third person, when it would have easily been a 5.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek Book 1 by Kim Fox ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ OMG! This is the first book from the spinoff of Colwood Firehouse to The Grizzly Grizzlies: Lachlan The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek Book 1 by Kim Fox I happy to get to read this story it's interesting, charming and will make you laugh. Lachlan and Jessie met during a summer vacation eight years ago. They were both seventeen. Her father is part of the mafia. He has now promised her to another higher up member in order to strengthen his power. But she doesn't want to go from being ownedby her father to bring owned by her husband. So right before she walks down the aisle she runs way while wearing her dress. She has been thinking about that summer with Lachlan and goes there to visit him hoping that she will be safe. Lachlan is a bear shifter. The town her grew up in was called Red Dead Creek because it was a rough town with nothing but gangs in it. A group of dragons came six years ago and cleaned out all of the criminals. The new town name is Redemption Creek. He doesn't trust his bear anymore because of something that happened. He has also never been with anyone since Jessie. Lachlan sees her when she gets off of the bus in her wedding dress. He can't believe that it is her. Is this reunion meant to be? Can they be together or is there too much trouble coming after her as well as the trouble in his past that will keep them apart? Jessie is a bit ditsy but whole story is filled with funny moments. If you are looking for a short and cute shifter story , this book is for you.
Runaway Bride. Yep. Jessie dashes out just before the wedding--in her gown, forcing a limo driver to whisk her away. She not only left the evil man standing at the altar, she took a bunch of his money. She knows she's in trouble and thinks there is only one place she might be safe. In the arms (hopefully) of the man she left years ago.
Lachlan had been heading downward for a long time. The only time he was in good spirits was remembering the young woman he'd loved. She was gone. He had other bad memories and he had a monster inside he couldn't control. When he saw her in town, he thought it was a dream after too much to drink. She was real. What was she doing here?
Would she tell him all of it? Kind of hard to ignore she was in a wedding dress. How would he handle it? How would she?
This is fun watching girly Jessie blend with his crew of brawling bear shifters who did not hold their tongues. When she sees his bear will she run away? Is the safety she feels with him enough to compete with fear? Will her past interfere with any possible future for them?
I enjoyed the humor, the crew, and their growing relationship. City girl learns to be a country girl.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan, is the first book in Kim Fox’s brand new paranormal romance series “The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek” and can I say, what a start. The emotions of Lachlan & Jessie just pull you in and forget putting down the story until you hit “the end”. These two met & fell in love when they were seventeen, but never forgot about each other.
Jessie is a desperate woman running away from the church where a wedding is being forced on her by her cruel and controlling mob boss father to an equally cruel and ruthless crime lord Luca Capuano. She knew she was a dead woman after publicly humiliating both mobsters in front of more than a thousand guests and she had to get out of Chicago. Where can she go, she heads back to the little town where she met Lachlan. Lachlan is a grizzly bear shifter who has spent the last eight years thinking about the special girl he fell in love with when he was seventeen.
I know you’re wondering how things will turn out, the only think I will tell you is this, do yourself a favor pick up the book, read it, savior it, and enjoy the heck out of the characters that go bouncing around, fighting, playing, and oh ya. Love.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and am giving my honest review.
Woohoo! A brand new paranormal romance series by Kim Fox! If this first book is any indication (and my gut tells me it is), we’re all really going to enjoy it. As usual with this author, the plot is intriguing, the writing is extraordinary, and the characters simply jump right off of the page. This new cast of characters is beyond amazing. They are hot, sexy, romantic, and really freaking funny. They just pull you right into the story and plop you down in a world teaming with sexy shifters and the women that love them… the latter being a group you are certain to become one of, and lucky for you, you don’t have to choose. You get to have them all. This first book sets the stage with an epic romance, and the promise of much more to come. This book was impassioned and romantic, endearing and compelling, exciting and absolutely riveting. I would highly recommend it and anxiously await the next book in this phenomenal new series.
*I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan by Kim Fox is a 4 star read. Lachlan is a bear shifter on a path of self destruction, he’s worn down by the guilt he feels over the death of his cousin. 6 years previous he fought alongside dragon shifters to clean up the town he lived in, but a blast from his past shows up and makes him want to change who he is to be good enough for her. Jessie is on the run after fleeing her own wedding, not that she wanted to be married but her mob boss father gave her to a rival mob boss to cement a truce between both sides, Jessie has always lead a bit of a sheltered life but for 2 weeks one summer 8 years ago when she met and fell in love, so its back to that town looking for her lost love hoping he will protect her. I really enjoyed this story Kim Fox is a great storyteller and I can’t wait for the next books on this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan (The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek Book 1) I really enjoyed reading this story about Lachllan and Jessie. This is sort of like a second chance story. Jessie and Lachlan met when Jessie and her dad were visiting Redemption Creek, Montana. Jessie now on the run from mob boss Luca Capuano. Her father has betrothed her to him for business purposes. Wearing her wedding dress she flees to Redemption Creek and Lachlan. Lachlan has never forgotten Jessie and now drinks more than he should. He lays eyes on her in a bar only to hear she needs his help in hiding from Luca. Will Lachlan be able to protect her and his heart? Will he remember his promise issued long ago? Will she escape Luca in one piece? Come read the book and find out. I give this story 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".
Fleeing from a frightful destiny at the hands of a mafia boss, Jessie sought refuge with a flame of her past. He had offered help at any time and now was the time. Lachlan was deep in sorrow, feeling guilty and hopeless. When the woman he had not forget came back to his life, he feared losing control of his bear, again. But what if his bear had been right before? Would he forgive himself and move on? Lachlan strong feelings were clouding his judgement of a situation that was out of his hands and threatening his future. Liked Jessie’s strong character that even when she was rambling she was looking for a way to control herself. She had a good insight and helped Lachlan to trust his bear. A new series with mafia characters, action, suspense, shifters, amusing scenes, violence, romance and passion. Interesting and entertaining until the end.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan by Kim Fox (The Grizzle Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek Book 1)
Jessie is in her wedding dress running away from the church. She is trying to get away from her Father and Luca her fiancé. Her father gave her to Luca, he is a mod boss. She wants to go to Redemption Creek, Montana where she met a boy when they both were seventeen. She wants to go back a remember when she was happy and in love with Lachlan. This is a story of true love and what you would do for love. I found this to be a sweet romantic love story, Kim Fox delivers another great book. I can't wait for the next book to come out in this series. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.
This will be another awesome series and so love bear shifters. Lachlan has been torturing himself over something from his past. But the one good thing he remembers is Jessie and the fourteen days they spent together. Jessie is running from her fate. Her father has promised her to a very dangerous man and she knows she would lose herself if she marries him. She runs to the person who said they would always protect her, Lachlan. When Lachlan sees Jessie he knows he wants to keep her forever. Jessie wants that but she don't want Lachlan to be killed over her. She doesn't know about Lachlan's other half, his bear. There are plenty more secrets that have to come out so they can spend their lives together. I loved the book. Lachlan was a sexy and protective hero and his bear was so cute around Jessie. I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.
This is a really great new series! I love all of the guys/shifters from the Grizzly Ranch - Lachlan, Maximus, Tito, Ronan and even Kneecap. I hope Book 2 comes along quickly.
Jesse fleas in her wedding dress. She heads to the only place she feels she can be safe. Hopefully, a promise made 8 years ago will still be upheld. Can she truly Escape?
Lachlan is a handsome but gloomy and filled with guilt kind of guy. He is a bear shifter who carries in eternal struggle plus he feels he cannot trust his bear. He carries thoughts of the one ray of sunshine in his life but to him he can only hang on to that because it was 8 years ago. Then all of a sudden he sees her on the street in his own town. WTH!
I loved this story and I look forward to the next one in the series.
Lachlan us a bear shifter, years ago when he was 17 he meet the perfect girl. His bear knew she was the one but she was on vacation for only two weeks and her father took her away. He and his bear was never the same. Jessie had to get away. She couldn't do this. Her father was a mob boss, he made deal with another mob boss and she was the goodwill token. Nothing more. So she ran to the one man who at one time told her if she ever needed him he would protect her. Lachlan. OMG wow I loved this book. The characters are fantastic. Funny, hot and sexy. There is lots of action, drama, fun, and crazyness. I couldn't put it down and lost track of time lol! It was awsome. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Lachlan and His "Sweet Girl" 😍💗💕 What's not to love about Lachlan?! He's amazing and so is his sweet girl, Jessie! She was being forced to marry a mobster, but on the actual wedding day, Jessie said she'd had enough! She went running to the one guy who said he'd be there for her no matter what! I absolutely adore Jessie and Lachlan together, and I was so happy to see them get their second chance.
I just love these shifter books by Kim Fox. Do we have to stretch the imagination a bit in paranormal romance? The answer is yes we do, but boy do we get a sweet deal when we suspend reality for a story! LOL! Lust, romance, hot and sexy shifters who pick on each other but also have each other's backs like family... gotta love it! 😍😭
Welcome to Redemption Creek, Montana and a whole new town for Ms.Fox's sexy shifters to roam! First shifter up is Lachlan, a grizzly having a hard time forgiving himself for the past. The only bright memory is the two weeks he spent with Jessie. Jessie wants to be "free". She wants to make her own choices. Running from her "arranged" marriage is her chance. Lachlan promises to keep her safe but who will protect her from his grizzly? When Jessie's fiance' comes to town what will happen? Can't wait to read more about this town and this crew.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This was just an okay read for me. Action and interesting characters but just a bit simplistic in the plot. The mob (aka her father) will never let Jessie get away with what she did, even if Luca is dead. Jessie was nice but why did she wait till the wedding to run, I would have been gone at the forced engagement. Hope her sister Nora is okay. Lachlan was on a self destroy mission and just stops when Jessie comes back into his life. Has he been feeling guilty over doing the right thing, saving an innocent woman and blames his bear for what happened. Loved the others but not too sure about Kneecap and his craziness. Want Maximus to get a HEA.
Jessie is running away from a forced marriage, an overbearing mafia father and a life controlled by criminals. She's escaping back to the town she remembers from her youth and to the man she loved back then. She finds Lachlan in the new Redemption Creek and they realize their old feelings are still strong. Between discovering bear shifters exist, falling in love and being harassed by her ex, Jessie discovers a while new life. During all this, Lachlan realizes her life needs to be with him. Creative, energetic and heart warming this book has action, sexy times and love, a great combination.
Jessie is a runaway bride. She is trying to escape her mobster dad and the cruel man he has essentially sold her to. She runs to the one place where she was happy, Redemption Creek, Montana. There, she reconnects with Lachlan, the person she fell in love with. Lachlan is surprised to see her and a little bit scared. She brings up feelings he'd rather forget. After all, he is a monster grizzly shifter who could kill her with just a tap. Things seem to be at an impasse between them until fate intervenes. A light-hearted story, this is just the book to read on a stormy day. A sweet love story with a few surprises.
Jessie is a runaway bride. Her father was trying to use her to build an alliance with an other mob boss. There is only one place she can think of to run to. Years ago her first love promised to always be there for her. Grizzly bear shifter Lachlan doesn't trust his bear, ever since he killed his best friend. When the one woman he wants turns up in trouble he's not sure who she is in more danger from, him or the man she is running from. An exciting and sexy shifter romance. Lots of giggles and a bit of danger. All good fun and the start of what I'm sure will be a good series.
I really liked Jessie and Lachlan. Although I did have to stow a bit of belief that a woman would stay in her wedding dress as long as Jessie did. The description of her arriving in town was funny and a bit sad in a let's share a bottle of wine way. The entire story was that way from the first burrito, to the last sprinkles on the cotton candy ice cream. I loved the humor and wit that started this new series out with two great people. From the build up, there sounds like there will be plenty more stories to come.
The Grisly Grizzlies: Lachlan is Kim Fox's first book in her new series The Grizzly Bear Shifters of Redemption Creek. I gave it 4 stars because I felt like there should have been more back story. Throughout the book the war fought with the dragons is brought up again and again yet it's vague but obviously very important. The characters are colorful and interesting. The story is packed with emotion, doubts, anger, regret, friendship, betrayal, kindness and love. There is a character for everyone. I received an ARC from the author. This us my voluntary honest review.
Lachlan and Jessie's story...Lachlan has loved Jessie since they were both seventeen. But their love was forbidden. Jessie is the daughter of a mobster and promised to marry another mobster. When she escapes before her wedding, she runs straight to Lachlan who promises to protect her. Jessie knows nothing about shifters but she's about to learn. Grab this entertaining book and enjoy getting to know the Grizzlies of Redemption. They love, live and laugh hard. And, they definitely protect those they love!
Took me days to read this short 100+ page story since it was boring and no connection to the reader. They were a brief summer time fling of 2 weeks when they were young teens and now they come together when she runs away from her controlling mob boded father and a controlling cougar shifter mob boss fiancé and runs to a place she felt safe and the one man she ever loved. Okay great but these two jump from just reconnecting to in the sack, and claiming they both never been with any other person, sure, right. I didn’t connect with the characters or the story.
