How do successful people do it?

How do they always live life to the fullest, despite numerous obstacles?
What do they have that people who fail don't?
Are there secrets to their success? Methods that work?

- You strive for a better, easier, and happier life.
- You are fed up with living in gloom, frustration, stress, or discouragement.
- You want to rediscover motivation, joy, and inner peace.
- You want to succeed.

You think that you have tried everything and you have already read dozens of books in your quest to find answers.

The author has read over a thousand of them. During 40 years he has read, tested, observed and experimented with them all.

Some books talk only about willingness or positive thinking.
Others resemble academic papers or are so philosophical that they are just hot air.
Others still offer only illusions, promising happiness and success by using a few mystical formulae.

But there are also some brilliant books: those by Katie Byron that talk about really letting go, the ones by Eckhart Tolle that demonstrate the power of the present moment, and those by Anthony Robbins that truly inspire you to take action. And many others also have a few gems to offer and contribute their own ideas.

"Happiness and Success – Full version" is not a mere compilation of the best existing techniques, but the result of 40 years of work and experience that has taken the form of a comprehensive method.

- You will find inside only formulas that work, and it’s the subtle alchemy between all the elements that makes the method a good one.
- You will learn how to use the incredible power of your brain to overcome your worst enemy, the one that lurks within you.
- You will understand how to make a few tiny adjustments to the way you see things so that everything can start falling into place.
- You will see how to free yourself from fear, which Napoleon Hill described more than 50 years ago as the main reason for failure.

Decide at last to turn your life into a masterpiece.
Read, break your chains, come out from Plato's cave ... and succeed.

Sometimes a tough slog

Overall the book wasn’t too bad, and did bring out some good points. However, other times I found it to be slow and unduly repetitive. In the end, I found it to be okay.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I am someone that is always happy to dig into a self-improvement journey and Happiness and Success was pretty motivating. It is clear that Savoy is well informed on the topics of happiness and success. His book contains motivational phrases and tips to get you moving on your happiness journey. I found this book encouraging and believe it could be of help to just about anyone, whether you’re going through something in your relationships, work, finances, self-esteem. I think he has lots of insight. That being said, it’s nothing I haven’t heard before. There are hundreds of these self-help books and for the most part they tend to say the same thing. I think if you enjoy these kinds of books, for sure add this one to your collection. If you’re looking for only one book on the topic, or are looking to get started with the genre, I would look around a little more. At times Savoy feels preachy, and while I didn’t feel like it was meant to be condescending, I think it could turn someone new to the genre off.
Overall, a good read for those consistently looking to improve!

When author Raphael Savoy states that he had read over 1,000 self-help books in 40 years, I smirked and caught myself doubting this claim. However, as I brought back to how many I had read, to find that spark or element for success in my life, I realized it was quite possible. For the past year, I’ve needed someone to get in my face and basically tell me to start being more positive and act on it! When something negative happens, and it will, not to dwell on it and think it’ll cripple your ability to be successful. I love the way Savoy talks about building on the positives and successes and before long, that’s 90% of your day! This was by far the best self-help book I’ve ever read. It surpasses the idea of self-help for me and is more an enlightening and self-discovery book. I will be reading this book over and over and I know it will absolutely help more people.

Happiness and Success is a book that will help you get started on the path to living a happier and more successful life, without the fluff you find in many books that are about these topics. It's straight to the point and doesn't sugar coat the path you need to take in order to make your life complete.

I especially enjoyed the chapters on confidence, faith, and letting go. These are all topics that I find myself working on when it comes to my happiness and success. It reminded me that the most important thing I need if I want to succeed in anything is faith in my abilities. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is struggling with finding or accepting their success and happiness.

Typically I avoid self-help books because they often come off as either overly corny or convoluted in their methods. Happiness and Success, however, did not fit this mold. Savoy lays out his plan in a direct, easy-to-follow manor and includes quotes from many other sources, showing how he came to each point. This helped reinforce that it isn’t just one person rambling about a method they have had success with, but rather a tried and true practice that many have followed. Although I don’t feel particularly changed or extremely motivated after one read, I believe a second read through of this book would be beneficial to reflect on the practices put forth now that I have seen the overall picture of Savoy’s message.

This is an utterly brilliant book - by no means 'just another self-help book', it is truly unique in its approach, and profoundly encouraging. Rather than focusing on the divide between 'success' and 'failure,' Savoy places a greater emphasis on positivity and negativity: while encouraging success in many practical ways, he also encourages the reader to recognise, cultivate and appreciate success.

It's an easy enough book to dip in and out of, so no pressure to dedicate hours at a time to it. It's a great book overall, and I would highly recommend it to anybody interested - and it's worth reading more than once, too!

The book doesn't have any new information that hasn't been given before. While the plan is lade out in an easy to follow method, I had to force myself to read the book. It didn't draw me in and it took a lot of effort to finish it. The book did have quotes from many other sources and truthfully, I felt like I was reading a graduate thesis paper rather than a book. Ideally, this book would be great for a person who has never read a self help book ever. This is a good introductory book for a new person or a person just starting to do high school or college research on this topic. But for those who have been involved in psychology, therapy, social work, or have been exposed to self-help information...this book wouldn't be for them.

Savoy notes early on that you won't retain everything you need to learn from this book in the first read through. He recommends multiple reads to help you put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I've only read it once so far, but I can appreciate where he is going with this.

The main goal of this book, as noted in the title, is happiness and with that, will come success. The thought process being that the happier you are, the more confident you become, putting success (however you define it) within your grasp. That is, of course, very over simplified ~ and the goal of this book is to get you into the nitty gritty of what it takes to be happy.

One example of the insight he shares is that we can only make ourselves happy. We can't apply the principles of the book and make our spouse, neighbor or the world happy. You can only change how you feel about yourself and how you react to life. Every person needs to make those things happen for themselves. Certainly we all have heard this before, but have we really thought about it? How many of us think we can help our partner/friend/co-worker change? It doesn't work that way.

There is a point where he says people become more tolerant as they age. I don't really find that to be true ~ at least not in my experience. Certainly I have become less tolerant as I've gotten older. Maybe I'm not "old enough" yet to experience this, but the statement made me read with a little more caution. At that point, I wanted him to PROVE it to me, I wasn't just going to buy into it.

He talks about fear, faith, forgiveness, gratitude. A big chapter for me was about the brain. All of us have the tendency to allow our brain to replay all of our failures...all the times things didn't go as planned...we let our brain talk us out of trying. If you open a dictionary and look for a brain that tries its best to hold you back, you'll see my picture. I can absolutely relate to my brain being my own worst enemy.

So, I'm intrigued enough to read the book again, as Savoy has suggested, in an effort to continue to build on the basic understanding I've gained the first time through. It's a quick read - certainly something you could get through in a weekend. Definitely worth exploring.

I absolutely love self-help books and Savoy’s enthusiasm in the early previews and pages seemed infectious. I found myself psyched from the get-go, waiting for him to get to the meat and potatoes of his secrets to Happiness and Success, but wound up reading a lot of advice gleaned from his many years of reading other self-help books. Delivered in a way, I might add, that seemed like a mildly irritable, (or perhaps slightly eccentric from being SO happy all the time) college professor who was trying to fill the last big class right before a nice holiday vacation.

The saving grace for me, personally, was his enthusiasm and the feeling that he absolutely believes and applies these lessons to his own life. A lot of his advice was repetitive and sometimes too verbose (less can be more) but I feel he was simply trying to drive his many points home.

I don’t care for negative spins in the self-help genre, and while I hesitate to say that he did have a few negative spins, some of it was a little too “if you don’t do this, then bad things will happen.” I do not believe there is one true path for pretty much anything, and happiness and success are no different. I do, however, believe that his knowledge has worked for him, and therefore, he was genuinely trying to share that recipe for success with others.

I would recommend this book to friends or colleagues for whom his particular style of communication would fit. I prefer books where the author feels like my best friend, or a loving older sibling is giving me advice about all of life’s little ups and downs. I feel like Mr. Savoy’s approach would probably make for an excellent lecture to attend, where one can take notes, and take from his wisdom what fits best with your particular personality.

I have read quite a few self help books and this one was definitely one of the best. Happiness and Success by Raphael Savoy just really clicked with me. His explanations and examinations of the limiting beliefs that hold humans stuck made so much sense. The book is a really easy read and flows so smoothly and effortlessly. Savoy covers such topics as releasing guilt and hopelessness over a world that is constantly at war. He talks about living with great presence and working to change the cycles in our lives when we are filled with fear and inaction. His main theory focuses on EWNO or everything within, nothing outside which summarizes the idea of the book that we have everything we need to succeed in this world within us and nothing outside of ourselves can be controlled. We can love, help, pray for, be generous and forgiving while simultaneously releasing the need to control the outcome or control the actions of others.
I definitely recommend this book if you are feeling stuck in any area of your life and are ready to move forward. If you are looking for techniques to forgive the past and release the negative chatter in your brain you will benefit greatly from this book. Savoy uses his abundance of experience after years of trial and error and research and makes the paths to joy and happiness easy to understand and easy to follow. He also offers a few exercises to help along the way.

Happiness and Success is centered around the concept of “EWNO” - everything within, nothing outside. Savoy proposes that the only things we can truly change lie within ourselves. While we might not be able to change the world, we can change ourselves - and by making ourselves better from within we can have a positive influence on the world around us.

I doubt Savoy has any formal qualifications besides being an avid reader of self-help books, but he did have some insightful anecdotes and thoughtful advice to share. He did attempt, as promised, to lie out actual concrete steps to follow in order to make changes permanently within one’s life - something I’ve rarely seen in this type of book. As I just finished reading, I can’t speak to whether or not they actually work, but I will say that I did find myself remembering points from the book while going about my day. Indeed, there are some golden nuggets to be found.

Success and Happiness is a fairly quick read written in a conversational style. I would have preferred if the author had spent a bit less time talking about/justifying the book and more on the subject at hand. While I don’t think this book quite lived up to the hype Savoy gave it in the introduction and it’s certainly not the end all be all of self help books, if you’re trying to do a bit of introspection you won’t do wrong to pick this one up. 3 stars.

“We can only learn by making mistakes, and until we understand, we will suffer.”

“Much of our stress comes from living mentally in other people’s business.”

These two great quotes are two of many stimuli from the book to get you thinking about what you do and why you do it. The purpose of this book, in a nutshell, according to the author Raphael Savoy, is to stop using our own mind to hurt us and to start using it to help us achieve the happiness and success we want. The author also discusses the importance of letting go and our resistance to change. This read reminds us to stop searching outside ourselves and offers insight on how to stay in your own head to get that self-change to happen.
The book seems deceptively simple, the introduction is rather dry, but hang on because the best is next, as they say. This is a gentle and real approach to make the changes you need to achieve abundance. You may even look at spirituality, happiness and forgiveness with a fresh pair of eyes. Best part of all, Savoy does not leave you with just words and quotations, but helps you develop an action plan.

This book covers pretty much all the main bases of self-help, personal growth, incorporating a bigger-picture view into your life in order to improve outcomes of happiness and success, etc. For someone just delving into these topics, this could be a good book to adequately introduce all the concepts, thereby eliminating the need to read separate books on each. There are some exercises in a few of the chapters, and there's a convenient, extensive list of reminders/affirmations that would be good for a newbie to print out either as a list or on flash cards, etc.

I dinged the book one star because the author claims in the beginning that he will present information beyond what other sources provide, and that he will focus on implementation instead of theory. I found neither of these particular claims to be true. So if you're already conversant in this type of self-help, you won't find a lot of new stuff here. But if you know someone who is just ready to dip their toe in the pool, this might be just the right thing for them.

Happiness and Success is a motivational, self-help book which purpose is to help you find the sparks in life that will help you on your path to a happier and more fulfilling life. The book is set up into twelve easy sections that focus on gratitude, love, faith, and letting go among others. It’s easy to read and to digest making it good for a wider reading audience.

I enjoyed this book somewhat, but felt as if it was a bit preachy at times. The author has solid themes with clear explanations, but I felt as if he was talking at me not to me, which is the tone I prefer in self-help books. The chapters were not overly lengthy, but I did feel certain parts within them could have been shortened or cut out. In some of the latter chapters it felt like repetition rather than a recap. Overall I think this is a good book to start with if you looking for a book to help you transition into a more positive mindset and person, but this book just wasn’t for me.

It may just be the kick in the pants some people need.

Happiness and Success- Full Version by Raphaël Savoy is a self help book which Savoy takes on the roll of a friend giving advice. Sometimes it feels like he’s talking in a friendly manner, others it felt a bit preachy and at times condescending. Outside of those two things, the book does present some great quotes and anecdotes of wisdom. This may not be my personal favorite self development book but it could be just the kick in the pants some people are looking for/wanting out of a self help book. Personally I found the tone of the book to be slightly off putting. That won’t keep me from taking the good and using it to my best advantage to achieve my goals. I just may not be referring back to this particular book as often as I do some others. I still think it was a good read and embarks some valuable insights into happiness and success.

Easy to understand, valuable advice.

Ok, listen.
I'm not usually one to read self-help books.
I have come to expect that most of them are full of good intentions, but I find myself losing interest rather quickly.
Not so with this book.
This book is full of great advice, and is very straightforward. I appreciate both of these things. The author relates life lessons without coming off as pretentious, another quality that is very valuable. This was indeed very like listening to a friend, not like reading a lecture or lesson.
My only regret is that I did not read this sooner, as I recognized some of the negative thinking traits in myself from years ago. But I can let that go, and be glad that I've read it now.
I've been recommending this book even before I finished reading it, and I now recommend it to you as well.

I don't think I actually “need” self help books, but I like to read them periodically for fresh perspective. I firmly believe that your reaction to trials and tragedy is what shapes your experience, so sometimes finding new ways to cope can be helpful. With that being said, I enjoyed this book but didn't find anything particularly new or innovative that stood out to me. I gave it four stars because I like the focus on how to overcome fear. Savoy points out that fear is a huge mental obstacle in life and gives comprehensive advice on how to overcome it, advice that sets you up for healthy mental habits overall. This book is a quick, easy read with helpful advice and pointers. If you're looking for a fresh perspective without taking on a complicated new way of thinking, this book is for you.

Happiness and Success by Raphael Savoy is written so the reader can chose which trait that want to focus on, but you will want to read each chapter. I love the quotes, tidbits of wisdom, and theoretical concepts interlaced within his teachings. The end of each chapter has very interesting footnotes that I look forward to after reading about the topic.

My favorite chapter in Happiness and Success is Faith. Raphael Savoy keeps his chapters short, but they are packed with wisdom that you just want to relish each chapter before going to the next one. This is one of those books you can feel the author's passion and humor peeking through the pages. I could not help but smile while I read this book. I hope to see more from this author in the future. I would encourage you to buy this book for someone else who strives to succeed, or just needs a smile.

This book is full of good intentions. The author repeatedly mentions how he wants this to be like a sage friend offering wisdom to ease suffering and aid in finding personal happiness and success. While good intentions are always appreciated, and this book does have some memorable tidbits and catchphrases that could certainly be helpful, I wasn't quite sure what else to make of this book. It was like a serious of semi-coordinated lessons on how to build your personal happiness. Perhaps this is personal preference, but I tend to prefer self-help books with a bit of a more scientific background or maybe methods that are tried and proven. I do appreciate the positivity here but for me, it needed a little bit more grounding either in science or a more solid blueprint.

I am always a bit wary of self-help books because often times they don't help at all. This book was completely different. And AWESOME. I love n-your-face directions and advice , especially if you can back up your theories as to why we should listen. Savoy has read over 1,000 self-help books, and in his book, he lays out a direct path/plan for you to follow. I really enjoyed the advice and info on letting go...many of us have issues with letting go and many of don't even realize we are holding on to something - very interesting and I found his tool and instructions useful and applicable. Give this book a try if you are looking for a new, happier you - just be prepared to work for it based on Savoy's plan.

Intriguing book!

This book takes a unique approach in helping us address the areas that holds us back from being successful and happy in our life. It takes on a big picture look in how we tackle the areas holding us back. The book gives us things we can do now to address the areas of fear, our points of view and how we look at our life, and so much more. I liked this book because it made me think. I believe that is the best kind of help in regards to things in life we need to conquer. This book shines a light towards a new direction and I encourage you to read it. Also the formatting sometimes seemed a bit weird but it didn't distracted me at all. It was also a surprisingly quick read too!

Worth the read

Happiness and Success is another self-help book to add to your growing collection. The author, Raphael Savoy, has been studying and observing what methods turkey work best for the last few decades. It’s obvious from the book that he knows what he’s talking about and is truly an expert in the field. I found his book easy to follow. It was also thought provoking than preachy which I think some self help books struggle with.

My only wish is that Mr Savoy would have come up with his own ideas, instead of the best he’s found. After so much research, I’m sure he has a new idea of his own.

This book is definitely worth a read and a spot among the collection.

Classic style self help book

This is a good book. It's a classic style self help book that motivates you to be the best you possible. Personally although it is a nice read I didn't find anything extraordinary about this book as compared to the countless self help books out there. That being said the book still has a positive message of growth and development through positive thoughts and actions. I did find a few happiness techniques that will surely help me in the future and I did enjoy the read. I would recomend this book to anyone looking to take a few hours to relax and grow it's a positive read!

This book is well organized, and the writing is easy to understand. The main premise of the book is good at heart, and the most helpful bits of advice, in my opinion, are located at the end of the book. This is where the author outlines clear and decisive actions to take. However, the rest of the book is largely a defense of the ideas which led to that list. Some of the examples are based, in my opinion, on faulty and over-generalized logic (particularly about poverty). Still, many of the suggested actions are at the close of the book are well-worth the read— and practice.

Powerful and thoroughly researched

Instead of spouting personal believes with little basis, Savoy set out to share an accurate and thoroughly researched theory to happiness and success in life through proven methods. Particularly discussing the science of our brains and how it can be our greatest asset but also our worst setback in our journey to happiness, Savoy has proven he truly spent decades perfecting this concept and readers from any walk of life surely could find success from his musings.
