Rate this book
A dead handyman. A sword-obsessed ghost. The wedding of the year.

Lorna Shadow is looking forward to starting her new job at Snow Thistle castle. It will give her a break from Helen’s obsessive wedding planning. It will also give her a chance to surround herself with high morals and impeccable manners. Or so she thinks.

The discovery of a handsome ghost living on the castle’s turret leads to the revelation that the handyman, Johnny Baxter, slipped off the turret and fell to his death six months ago. If it was an accident why is Johnny still haunting the castle?

Then a chain mail wearing ghost starts following Lorna. It turns out, he also needs her help to be reunited with a much beloved item.

With two ghosts to assist and Helen distracting her at every opportunity, Lorna struggles to focus on the suspects and make progress in helping these ghosts.

When disaster strikes, threatening Helen’s wedding, Lorna must juggle wedding cake, murder suspects, and her new job. Which one will fall?

Ghostly Vows is book ten in the Lorna Shadow cozy ghost mystery series. A series full of light-hearted mystery, a dash of romance, and some quirky animals. And let’s not forget the cake. There will always be cake!

I usually enjoy the Lorna Shadow Mysteries, but did not enjoy this one as much because Helen was planning her wedding and turned into Bridezilla, the Bride from Hell. But I really liked the ghost Jacob and his desire to get his sword back. I did not guess the murderer this time and the twist was most entertaining. Lorna and her dog Flipper always meet the ghosts and somehow solve their murders or problems.
I was given an Advance copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.

Ghosts, a wedding and murder

This was my first book in the Lorna Shadow series and I’m anxious to read the rest. Lorna helps her best friend, Helen, pull off a huge wedding with a ton of complications while cataloging an extensive collection at a castle. Throw in a couple of ghosts who may or may not need her help. And a possible murder.

Comfortable read

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a cozy mystery with a supernatural spin. I really enjoy this series particularly flipper and Jesse. Lorna and Helen are the perfect duo to follow on their adventures.

Two ghosts, murder suspects, the wedding of the century, and a job. Will Lorna be able to juggle them all without dropping any?

OK - this one was good. The scene with the sword was kind of unbelievable. Why at the wedding?
