Jinwoo has that friend, Kisub. That friend who wants to sleep on your couch for a night, a week, and before you know, he is your roommate. Needless to say, life is hard for Jinwoo. Needless to say, his life would be easier if he weren't in love with that couch potato.
Okay, I actually started reading 'Roommates' a long, long time ago when it was only on the original site and just a few episodes were available for free. But I fell in love with it hard and so my journey began...
I can't really explain why I love it so much. I simply know that it makes me feel SO MUCH and nine times out of ten I wanted to roll on the floor and make weird 'eeek eeek eeek' noises when I was reading it. Literally everything about it is great for me - the art (I realize that not everyone might be into such simple artwork but I'm a sucker for simple (and for sketchy)), the story (shut up, Anna, you say how you hate slow romance but LOOK AT YOURSELF), the characters (for a few chapters I wanted to snap Ray's neck because he was such an a**hole to My Son™ but later I started loving him again), the feels (feels feels FEELS)...
Everything about "Roommates" is just so pure and so wonderful. I might be completely and unapologetically biased ("might be", she says... ha, ha) but it gave me so much joy and so much heart-break. I honestly respect the author for conveying the characters' emotions so well and making such a simple love story so meaningful and important to me.
But how am I going to live now that I finally forced myself myself to finish reading (I really do hate finishing stuff I love...)?? I know there's a second series with different characters and I'd love to give it a shot but it's in Korean... And besides what I really wish I could get is a million extra chapters of the original series. With Jinwoo kicking Kisub in the face all the time, My Son™ finally moving in with Ray for real (not just brining more and more of his stuff), Jinwoo and Kisub awkwardly bonding with My Son™ (should I start saying Inho...? naaah)... Oh, that'd be so nice...
5 Stars! Omg, I think I just died from laughter and cuteness. It was a slow-burn romance; Jinwoo and Kisub’s interactions are hilarious! I’d be that stressed too if my crush is living with me... And Inho, I just want to hug and comfort him... such a strong little bean.
Anyway, I loved the art style, the face reactions were so funny. I want to see more of them as a couple!!!
It’s such a cute funny shounen ai manhwa about two couples who are basically opposite personality wise. It’s definitely worth the read if you want a silly light hearted read!
