Kostprobe:
"Hydrogene Wolkenform v. Beteigeuze. Ich suche Dich. Wenn Du ein merkurianischer Fackler m. Spaß an Sex bist, dann schreib mir sofort! Körpertemperatur nicht vergessen! PGS-0075".

Something different from Michel Parry's usual horror anthologies of the 1970s: this one's a collection of sci-fi erotica. Not exactly my cup of tea, and I found many of the stories highly dated and questionable in terms of sexism and outright misogyny. But then the 1970s were a very different time. Whatever floats your boat. This collection wasn't for me, although it was fun to see some of the familiar authors trying their hand at a different genre.

Robert Silverberg contributes two stories here. PUSH NO MORE is about a horny teenager who discovers his latent psychokinesis and is quite well-plotted with good attention to characterisation. IN THE GROUP is similar, albeit about psychic computer-controlled group sex in which the protagonist's jealousy spells his doom. Both stories have a good grasp of the male psyche.

Robert Sheckley's two stories are CAN YOU FEEL ANYTHING WHEN I DO THIS?, in which a robot attempts to seduce a frigid housewife, but seems more of an attack on feminist values, and LOVE INCORPORATED sees a man visiting a future Earth to find love now a buyable commodity, although once again I detected a streak of misogyny here.

Irving Feldman's THE NEAR PERFECTION OF THE USSS is a brief satire about a future sex education class, with Freud the butt of the joke. John Novoty's A TRICK OR TWO imagines a future in which every person has their own magic trick, and of course it revolves around a guy trying to get a woman naked...

THE CROOKED MAN sees Charles Beaumont looking at a time when homosexuality is the norm and heterosexuality banned. A bit odd to read it some 70 years later, but it must have been novel back in the day. I skipped the Asimov as I've already read it, while Fritz Leiber's GAME FOR MOTEL ROOM is a fun little conversation-based effort with a well-thought-out back story.

Alain Doremieux's THE VANA is about aliens being used as sex companions, and just isn't very interesting despite the sting in the tale. THE PERFECT GENTLEMAN, by R.J. McGregory, is about a man who grows from seed, but as a commentary on the battle between the sexes it doesn't really pay off. Miriam Allen deFord's A WAY OUT is about alien which visits Earth to find its women disgustingly compliant, and I didn't like it much either. The final piece by Steven Utley is just a joke in the form of some obvious personal columns by various aliens looking for love.
