Luna Blake wants a fresh start. Moving in with her uncle will give her that. She also wants to earn a living from her photographs and paintings of the moon. What she doesn’t want is to fall in love because the last time she did that, it broke her heart in two.
Severine Starr wants to spend as little time as possible visiting her family. She wants to get back to her new man and her new life in New York. She simply needs to persuade her teenage daughter, Raven to go with her. But things at home are far from how she left them.
Logan Dorset always wanted to open his own restaurant – and now he is. He also wants a woman he can’t have. A woman he’s been in love with all his life. A woman who’s in love with someone else. He just wants a chance to tell her how he feels.
Roggero Tazzeone disappeared from Michaelmas Bay more than fifteen years ago. Now he’s back and he’s trying to make up for his past mistakes. After all this time, he knows exactly what he wants.
But strange things can happen in the moonlight, and what each of them wants may not be as straightforward as they think.

Absolutely fabulous, easily one of my favourite books by Emily Harvale, and I have read rather a lot of them in the past!
This features a lot of love, in that many of the characters seem to think they are in, or are falling in love with each other and not necessarily all of it is reciprocated, nor is all of it that easy to follow.
At the centre of all of it is Severine Starr, she is the sister to Evie, who was the main character in the first Michaelmas Bay book, but this can easily be read as a standalone. Severine is mother to Raven and she hasn't seen Raven's father Roggero since she told him she was pregnant 15 years ago. Severine is currently pregnant with Harvey's child, but on her first night back in Michaelmas Bay, she kisses her teenage crush Logan.
Confused? Well then there is also Luna who has just met Logan and is determined not to let another man close while she is nursing a broken heart, and a whole host of other characters all determined to act as matchmakers and gossips.
It is fabulous, its a small knit community at its best, and the story only takes place over a few day period but the amount that is packed into those days is rather impressive. We see the story from multiple focus points, which allows us to get a good feel for all the characters, and the question on my lips for most of the book was, just who is Severine going to pick.
This is a warm read that will get you smiling, and its a quick easy story to follow. I loved finding out more about Severine who had only been mentioned in the previous book, and reconnecting with the rest of the fabulous Starr family.
Thoroughly enjoyable book, would love to see more from this series.
Thank you to Emily Harvale for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I have read all of Emily's books and they never fail to cheer me up. This book follows on from book one which is called Christmas secrets in Snowflake cove, we follow some of the old characters and we also get to meet new characters along the way too. The story is well written as are all of Emily's stories and descriptive which makes you feel as though you are there. It makes you want to read the book in a day which I did.
This was such a cute read. I read really fast. I love Emily Harvale books. This is a follow-up from the first Michaelmas Bay Book 1. Can be read stand alone but a lot of the same characters in this book and you get a lot of background on the characters from book 1. Severine Starr and Luna Blake are both on a train headed to Michaelmas bay. Luna is very open with Severine about where she is going and why. Her parents are gone and her boyfriend cheated on her and she is headed to live with her uncle to try and get her photography business started. Severine on the other hand, is from the area and is headed home after not coming home for Christmas or New Years. Her daughter is their in Michaelmas Bay at Snowflake Cove Inn where her mother and father and grandmother and sister live and her daughter had been staying with them. Her daughter, Raven, just recently found out who her father is from the first book in the series. And so the whole family found out who Severine had had an affair with and where Raven came from. We find out that Severine still seems to be in love with that old flame, Raven's father, yet she is engaged and pregnant to another man named Harvey who is not in this book. He lives in NY and has gone back to NY to prepare for Severine to join him and live with him there but Severine is now confused as heck. She doesn't know who she wants to be with. Luna falls head over heels in love with the first man she sees upon getting off the train but is afraid that he is in love with Severine. Cute book. I hope there is another one in the series to follow this one up.
This is book two of a two book series and what a joy and entertaining story it has been. I’ve thoroughly loved every second of it.
It was a great story, this one focuses on Severine whom we partly met in the first book and also Luna who is a completely new character. I didn’t much like the character of Severine from the get go and by the end of book 2 that still hadn’t changed but at least she had seen the error of her ways and had become a nicer person. I definitely liked Luna, she was lovely and I’m glad she eventually got her happy ending, she certainly deserved it after what she had been through in past years.
It was also lovely to be reacquainted with some of the characters from book one, getting little glimpses of how their lives were going.
I would recommend that you read both book sin order so as to get a clearer more in-depth understanding of all of the characters.
A quick and easy read. Emily quickly draws you in with her (mostly) nice characters. I started reading them via Kindle Unlimited, and I’ve now read many of her books. She has a good formula and a nice style. Will read many, many more I am sure!
A wonderful time has come to the Snowflake Inn. An old debt paid, a daughter come home and love is in the air. Jessie is my favorite of the family, but Evie and her sister are very curious indeed!
I really enjoyed this book and the characters are really well written and enjoyable to read,I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy stories
So lovely to be back in Michaelmas Bay and Snowflake Cove, I did say I was eager to return quickly !
There are many familiar characters from the previous book, and a couple of others to meet for the first time too.
Luna Blake, is one of the latter, she is ready for a change, and is moving in with her Uncle, which will give her not only the time and space she needs, but also the opportunity to focus on making a living from her paintings and photographs of the moon.
Falling in love is definitely not on the agenda, as her heart has recently been broken.
Severine Starr on the other hand, we have met before.
Severine isn't quite so eager to spend time visiting family in Snowflake Cove, she just wants to get back to her new life in New York, with her new man, she just needs to persuade teenage daughter Raven to join her.
Things aren't quite how Severine left them however, and the return of Roggero Tazzeone, is going to shake things up even more for her, because he has finally worked out what it is he wants.
Logan Dorset has achieved his dream of opening his own restaurant, but there is a woman, who he has been in love with practically all his life, and now he just needs the chance to tell her.
I absolutely loved this book, I thought it a great follow on from the previous one, and I think I'm pretty much guaranteed to enjoy whichever of Emily's books I decide to read next.
I really enjoyed this book, perfect follow up for the Christmas one I read last month. It was good to catch up with the characters and to meet new ones. A very fun book to read.
