By all accounts, Chicago Police dispatcher, Enola Roux’s life would have been considered completely normal; and that was fine with her. But when Enola has to return to her native Louisiana, she learns that her life is anything but ordinary. Enola is suddenly inducted into a world of spells, curses, ancient grudges, and… Gideon. Louisiana Pack Alpha, Gideon Toussaint, has walked the earth for more than a hundred years. He was sure that he had seen and done it all. But when Gideon is nearly knocked off of his feet at the sight of the Roux woman, he felt a longing that he hadn’t experience in his entire existence. Unfortunately for Gideon, mating with the Roux women was forbidden. However, rules, even his own, would be broken. Forbidden or not, Gideon would have Enola Roux.

I enjoyed this book so much. There was action and endless comedy. I found myself laughing out loud quite a bit because Nola was so feisty and was checking folk....lol. Also, Gideon was that WOLF! He as unfiltered....lol. When they had that convo about her being his b****, it was so hilarious to me. I have been a fan of Phoenix Daniels work awhile now and she never disappoints. I am so glad she decided to do a paranormal romance novel. I loved it and I can’t wait to read Margo’s story and learn more about her powers. Great job, Phoenix Daniels!

Let's start off by saying if you have not read a book by Phoenix Daniels, you need to get with the program. She NEVER disappoints. There is always something to be said about and Alpha man who will defy to be with the woman that he wants. This book is hot, sexy, promising and downright awesome. I look forward to reading more. I highly recommend you adding this one to your book collection and any of the author's other works, you will not be disappointed.

I liked it, but then some things got a little weird. If Gabriel is Enola's grandfather and Gideon is his brother, does that mean that Enola is with her great uncle?

Witches, and Vampires, and Werewolves, oh my!

When the alpha wolf and the most powerful Voodoo priestess unite, it's explosive. Waiting centuries for his mate, Gideon finally sees her in the French Quarter. Not knowing her power, Enola defeated witches and Vampires who attempted to attack her. As she comes into her power, her grandmother Marie unfortunately gets weaker. A fight that has gone on for centuries must come to an end, and what an ending it is!

Secrets are revealed over time!

Since I have south Louisiana creole heritage, it was interesting to read this paranormal story. I don't usually read this genre but since it was situated in New Orleans, I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. Ms Daniels started with the intriguing prologue that set up the story. I loved Enola and Gideon together. At first, she fought who she was becoming but when her friend and daughter where hurt due to her developing powers, she came back home to New Orleans to find out more about herself and family from her dying gran-mere who was getting weaker due to the fact that Enola was getting stronger. Gideon knew when he saw Enola Roux that she was his mate and proceeded to claim her. Enola was equally pulled in by his hypnotic blue eyes.

Gideon and Gabriel Toussaint were alpha and beta werewolves who were in allegiance with the Roux family over the century. Gabriel's mate, Auriette Roux, had been executed over a hundred years prior and he vowed revenge on the Warlock priest responsible. The priest was determined to wipe out the Roux family and the werewolves because of his hatred for them.

Phoenix wrote an intriguing story about hatred lasting through the centuries due to unrequited love, causing a feud that lasted just as long, waiting for the right heroine to come into her own to completely stop it. This was a good read.

Umm ew?

This was a great book even though Enola really got on my nerves several times. I meant I felt like she couldn't understand simple English sometimes. For example, Gideon tells her they mate for life and you think that means we're going out? You find our what it means and then I get mad and say he tricked you? How?! He literally told you for life. Another example, gma tells you the stronger you get, the weaker I become then later in the book she mentions it again and then you said so that means I killing you? 🤦🏾‍♀️ Chile I cannot. I guess I was the only one who Enola annoyed with her being so ditsy. Gideon was great buuutt I couldn't get behind them being blood related. That's extremely gross and they are calling his identical twin younger brother grampa...😶😲 yeah. Ewww so this was a 5 that went to a 3 bc of the incest.

I am in love with this story and the characters.I love this writer and I know that when I pick up some thing to read from this writer it is going to be a hit!!I love when a good writer gets a story like this right and creates a story that pulls you in from the beginning. You are going to love the men and women of this story and the chemistry that flies off the pages. This story ended on a cliffhanger and t screamed, but then I thought they! I get another chance to enjoy these characters and the lives they lead. This story is for those that want excitement, something hot and sexy, for someone looking for the mysterious and want to laugh out loud.

Did we all read the same thing?

So I’m not sure if we all read the same book. The reviews were pretty positive (not that I let those sway me) but I figured the sypnosis was enough to be a good read. This book, there was absolutely no character development. Their are 2 characters who are mates but nothing about them getting to know one another, their stories, how the fall in love, etc. For me, I can’t fall in love with a character that I I know nothing about and unfortunately, that was the case with this read. I won’t be following up with this series as this initial book wasn’t enough to pull me in.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! 😭😭 this is my
first book i’ve read by Phoenix and i’m so in love. this book makes u feel like you’re in New Orleans, w the culture and voodoo and mystical energy. it really reminded me of The Originals which is a CW show about vampires wolves and witches that takes place in New Orleans. Everyone in this book was so bad a** and it didn’t take all day to get to the point. ofc i loved that Nola was a phoenix bc i love them. I CANNOT wait for Margo’s book bc he love interest seems so hot

Captivating

As with any Phoenix Daniels books, she always deliver.. From the time the story began with Auriette I was riveted by the love Gabriel felt for her and his Pain at losing his mate. Now to.the present and Enola. She is truly one bad Boss girl that's finds her mate with Gideon. Snd I love who she put her Ex Antonio in his place, I thought he was gonna pass out. Phoenix this was a truly wonderful story and I can't wait to read the next Awesome second Book to this Great series.

Surprised

Romantic books about witches, vampires, and werewolves has never been my cup of tea. I NEVER buy them. I like reading about suspense, romance, passion and intrigue with humans.

But, this book was written by Ms. Daniels, and I love her books so I took a chance. Enjoyed it, and am not sorry I got it, but I may not get the next one only because, I like reading about humans

WOW! I really enjoyed Blood Ties . I can't even begin to recap my favorite scenes or I'd be recapping the entire book. But needless to say no one had better disrespect Nola's man. She and Gideon are the perfect match. I can't wait to read the Margo and Bishop story . It's bound to be a WILD ride. I am also looking forward to Gabriel's story. Creole Nights is sure to be another great series from Phoenix Daniels

Excellent

I will hold up my hand and admit to being biased, from the very first book that I read by this author I have been hooked. An excellent writer and story teller. This book like all her others grip you in the first sentence then you can't put it down till its finished. Then get upset that you have finished. Excellent ten out of ten. Go read and her other books it will be a real treat.

Lot of details missing from this book in my opinion. I had no idea they were going to look for the priests until it was on the page. Nola and Gideon having sex on the car after being attacked? Nola put up very little resistance to being who she is. Why weren’t we shown the training that she did with her family? Very little connection between Nola and Gideon. No heat. No chemistry. Boring one time sex scene. Boooooooo!!!!! Yawn!

Alright bring the fire

Great read as always from her.
Enola can run but she can’t hide from her powers, mate, legacy, and her future.
She has to quickly step into shoes she’s more than reluctant to fill and accept a role that she can’t refuse. Revelations about her family history, ties to other supernaturals, and the city of New Orleans leads her down a path of discovery, danger and discovery.

Blood Ties

This was a good book. I love paranormal and this was right up my alley. Enola had to come to terms with being a Voodoo High Priestess and the mate of a alpha wolf leader. I love Gideon and grandpa Gabriel as Margo calls him. They bond together to beat the vampires, witches and the main evil Priest. Now with this new Vampire Bishop I can't wait to see how Margo gonna be able to handle him.💚💚

I can tell that Phoenix Daniels tries to blend in paranormal fantasy element into romance, but it's just not working as well as she thinks. The character development is lacking, and we never see how Enola learns to handle her powers. In fact, the book skims through it by 2 or 3 paragraphs about how she talks about learning her powers.

Either way, I think Phoenix Daniels would do better if she just sticks with 1 genre.

2 stars because at least Phoenix Daniels tries.

Captivating!

I almost didn't read this book. I'm not the biggest fan of paranormal. Y'all guessed, i didn't read the blurb, I just saw a new book from one of my favorite authors. When I noticed that it was "one of those books" I almost stopped reading but told myself to give it a chance...boy, I'm glad i did! Can't wait for the next one to come out this summer.

Great read

I've been looking for a good new author to read for so long, I was about to give up the search. This author is amazing. This is my third book by her in 3 days. I loved the characters and chemistry between the 2 main characters. I so happy that Mango will be getting her own story. Looking forward to the follow up.

Of you love NOLA

This book gave me all the feels. There is history, a little spicy romance, and family. Having New Orleans as it's backdrop made it perfect. The premise of the heart of the story is unique, and entertaining. I absolutely enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one.

Short and sweet!! This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be the last. I was captivated by the story line from the first chapter and the book just kept giving. Enola is a force to be reckoned with and her cousin is hilarious (can’t wait to read her book)! The romance was fiery and direct. Overall I really liked this book!
