This is a completely new version of Positive Magic , the classic compendium of magic for personal use that has been a popular favorite for more than 25 years. With updates of Wiccan history, philosophy, tools, and techniques, it also contains a wealth of entirely new material. Addressing the needs of today's readers - beginners and adepts alike-this edition explores new territory which channeling, spirit contact, dealing with the future as well as the past, and the connection between quantum physics and traditional magic.
First off I do not have the Kindle Edition, but this is the only edition on Goodreads, I have the paperback.
The book is an excellent resource for anyone looking to live a more positive, joy filled life. The author talks about the difference between negative and positive magic. She points out the importance of self responsibility for our actions and choices, as well as the reminder that what you put out into the world comes back times three.
Part 1 gives historical information about Witchcraft, the Aquarian Age, subject areas thatare best to be avoided and finishes with karma and reincarnation.
Part 2 focuses on techniques for daily life. The topics she covers are astrology, divination - the I Ching and tarot cards, work of self transformation and finishes with expanding the work to support others and the global community. I appreciate that in this section she talks about the importance of asking permission before doing work for others. Your intentions may be good, but everyone has free will and you should not assume to know what is correct for someone else on their path. Although it can be a challenge, not everyone wants or needs your help, so don't assume you know better.
Chapter 8 Words of Power: The Work of Self-Transformation was especially helpful as she gives examples of situations and how to make positive change while considering the larger ripple effects of a request. For example, wanting a job but also considering not limiting your options and allowing the universe to bring the best opportunity for you. I like that she reminds the reader - watch what you wish for as you just may get it. In other words, be clear on your intentions, consider the consequences and focus on the essence of what you want - for example, peace, abundance instead of a specific house or item.
Addition that I forgot in first posting - as the author points out in her book, you do not have to be a witch to effectively use the exercises she includes in the book. This is not a book of spells, it is a book filled with helpful and useful information that can be applied to any spiritual you follow. She makes reference to witchcraft because that is her path.
Her recommended reading section at the back is specific to each chapter - which is helpful.
A book that I will continue to use as a resource overtime.
