This was a thoroughly intriguing book to read. It was well-written and had plenty of twists and turns that added to the overall enjoyment of the story. Ayla is trying to make a new life for herself away from her trailer park upbringing, but her stepbrother is always there reminding her of how much she owes him. Derin has a jaded outlook on life and business, but when Ayla becomes his Executive Assistant she challenges him. This is certainly a book I would have no hesitation in recommending.

Ayla had escaped the trailer park in Tallman, but never her family. When her father died, Ayla’s mother married Darius, but his two unruly children had loathed Ayla on sight. Even after all these years, her stepbrother, Ryland, still manages to terrorise her with just one look; he had been her childhood bully and the cause of nightmares that still plagued her. Ayla is finally making progress in her life and is excited about her new promotion; after being a receptionist for almost 5-years at Benning Media, she is now to become Diren Benning’s new Executive Assistant. Diren’s reputation is well known, but the more he gets to know Ayla, the more he recognises she is different to anyone he has ever known and the realisation fills him with exhilaration and dread. Ayla is defiant, but there is also something about her which drew and repelled him simultaneously: she was innocent, but tough; beautiful, but unware of her allure; smart, but unassuming and willing to take direction, but she is not a pushover. There was a demureness about Ayla which Diren finds intriguing and uncommon, but is she hiding something? There had been a time once when Diren had been idealistic, but that man no longer existed; all because his ex-wife, Sloane, had been a greedy and manipulative woman. Now Diren keeps every shred of emotion locked tight inside, never letting anyone catch a glimpse of what he is really feeling. But there is something more to Diren, something he keeps well below the scowling, frigid persona he shows off to everyone else. Ayla wonders what his story is; his real story because no one could be born so cold. Had someone done something terrible to him; betrayed him somehow? Ayla knew about Diren’s reputation, but with her upbringing she never believed she would ever capture the attention of a man like Diren. While once she may have thought herself unworthy, her new found confidence had added to her allure, but she also had the looks and the attitude to go with it. But Ayla can never forget what Ryland is capable of or what he can do, so she has no choice; but can she really betray Diren? Then again all was fair in love, war and business. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Excellent, but quite hard story about Ayla. She was poor and she thinks she had murdered someone when she was 16. Since then, her step brother threattes hereach time he needs something. She’s having a promotion and she’s becoming Diren’s assistant, the CEO. She find herself manipulated by her step brother and her boss. They all want to use her and she don’t know what to do : loose her job, be threaten by her family ?
Between, money, power, sex, she just tries to survive.
Sometimes the story is hard because of the unpredictable reactions of the men who are in this story. It’s seems that Ayla can’t control anything even when she tries. It kept me on my toes.
I was a little bit desappointed, because I would have liked just few more pages to know what happens after, or a longer epilogue.

This book jumps right into the action and doesn't let up. There is a truly monstrous villain, an arrogant boss, a heroine you can't help but feel for and lots of twists and turns in their story. I didn't want to put this book down once I had started because I needed to know what happened and how it was going to turn out. The characters were well-developed and just when you think you understand them and what motivates them, another truth is revealed, the story changes direction and you don't see it coming. I loved Ayla, grew to love Diren and I loved the epilogue.
I hoped for something different with this book and Chloe did not disappoint. Her books are fresh, not formulaic and so completely different. The path to true love in Chloe's books does not run smooth but that makes them all the more entertaining. She is definitely an author not to miss.

Ayla has a blackmailing evil stepbrother Ryland and he’s a nasty piece of work. Ayla has been working for Diren’s company for a few years then she gets promoted to be Diren’s personal assistant. Diren is callous and cold hearted but there are reasons why he is like he is. I feel so sorry for Ayla she is forced to do things that she doesn’t want to do and when Diren finds out he doesn’t believe her. If you want to know what Ayla does or why Diren is like he is then you will need to get this book. This is another fantastic read by Chloe Fischer there’s plenty going on in this story like blackmail, danger, twists and turns plus more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is a intriguing, captivating book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The book is about a young woman (Ayla) being blackmailed by her cruel unscrupulous stepbrother (Ryland) to spy on a rather ruthless man (Diren) who is tired of being used by people. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, some suspense, twists & turns, secrets, manipulations, blackmail, threats, memories, insubordination, disgust, fear, misunderstandings, old murders, law enforcement, lust, passion, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book

Never judge a book by it's cover (pun intended)

He's arrogant, callous, rude, crushes anyone who stands in his way, lies to get what he wants, treats women like trash. A first class piece of work.

She is young, naive, ambitious and Diren Benning'x new PA. Sparks fly from the moment they meet as she challenges and stands up to her new boss. Throw in an evil step brother who is blackmailing her and you have a book you won't want to put down. Chloe has yet another winner in my opinion.

This book and its characters are so intriguing. It gives you things to think about and the ways things would be done if it was you put in any type of compromising position. Would you do anything to keep your job? Would you put up with people treating you badly? Can those people ever redeem themselves to you? Find out how Alya handles Diren and Ryland. You will be engaged from beginning to end and not able to turn the pages fast enough! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This book had a little bit of everything. There was sex, blackmail, murder, an evil brother, a gold-digging ex and a ruthless, immoral boss. I will admit that I wasn't sure I was going to like Diren in the beginning... saw no redeeming qualities at all. Luckily he changed my mind. I suggest that you block out some "me time" before you start this one because you won't want to stop reading until the last word.

This is enjoyable and extremely exciting, it's a story of secrets and betrayal, with plenty of goings on you sometimes don't see coming, Diren doesn't trust anyone after being hurt, that is until he meets Ayla, and he lets her in, then he finds out her secret and the ultimate betrayal, when she tries to explain, he doesn't believe her.
Fabulously written with wonderful characters, I loved this

Lots going on here! A bad man who does bad things, an innocent woman who tries her best to get away from him, and a hard billionaire who doesn’t know what hits him. A lot of intrigue going on, and a lot of what will she/he do. Very interesting. Wait till you see how it ends!

This is a very good read. The storyline is well-written, fast-paced with steam, intrigue, developed characters, and unlikable secondary characters. I loved it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

The read was enjoyable enough but I felt rushed reading it and that is purely based on the way it was written. I feel we could have dealt deeper into all the characters and that they could have been fleshed out more. Would have liked a bit more backstory.

Another great read from this author

Chloe Fischer draws the reader into this dark and twisted tale of blackmail, redemption and love. Ayla the newly hired executive assistant to Diren, CEO of a media company, finds herself being taken advantage of and placed in compromising positions by multiple people. As the story develops readers have to keep guessing which character is going to grow or fail as a person, where the figurative (and sometimes literal) bodies are buried, and if the HEA will come.
