This title is perfect for chess players looking to improve their game. Through Elementary, Advanced, and Master sections, the reader is guided toward an understanding of correct strategy and tactics. Designed to bridge the gap between beginner and master, this book will be enjoyed by anyone who has read Teach Yourself Chess and by anyone else who wants to learn to play better chess.
A collection of short 2-page lessons. Good if you don’t have large blocks of time available for reading. The author is not afraid to criticize commonly accepted chess principles – including principles set forth by legendary players. The lessons became increasingly more abstract as the book progressed from beginner topics to advanced topics. I got some benefit from the beginner and intermediate lessons, but not much from the advanced lessons.
