Two Horsemen: A Western Adventure

Rate this book
The new exciting new western from the legendary Jim Byrnes who wrote many episodes of the long-running western show “Gunsmoke,” and the acclaimed Western TV series “The Sacketts.”

THE PATAGONIA FRONTIER is an untamed and remote land in Argentina where the gaucho, counter part to the American cowboy, lives and works running cattle and pursuing wild horses, where a man can gallop across free and boundless terrain. To witness the gaucho and his horse travel as one, is an image of true poetry.

History describes the gaucho as noble, brave and of nomadic nature. They could ride a horse as soon as they could walk. There was a saying, a man without a horse was a man without legs. Their weapons were the “Facon”, a large knife tucked in the back of the gaucho coin encrusted belt, it also served as their only eating instrument. And the “Balos” were three leather bound rocks tied together with a three foot long leather strap. A weapon that was capable of taking down a bull or a man

During the 19th century, Argentina existed under the dark tyranny of Spanish rule. Only an independent breed of men who roamed the vast Pampas plains resisted. They were known as the gauchos, banding together, they battled the Spanish for their independence. In 1868 a new ruthless dictator took power, his name was Domingo Sarmiento. He was determined to destroy the rebellious gaucho. He did it the only way he could…with fences.
