By the time I got to page 69, it was clear that Bev was completely confused about the difference between covenant and trade. In the vocabulary of the writers:
sacrifice = trade
offering = trade
gift = trade
The case study of Anna in the Courts of Heaven (pgs 94-101) looks like "prayer ministry" (which has been around for over 50 years at this point) repackaged under a new name but with (in some instances) dangerous additions of ideology.
The great part of the book is its explanations (p124) of the distinctions between different kinds of offerings:
burnt - a sacrifice of total surrender of life, nothing held back - living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), first occurred before the law (Genesis 8:20 and 22:2)
grain - gift to God of fruit of labour - raising a memorial (oil and frankincense in grain)
peace - voluntary sacrifice of thanks and completion
sin - atonement for sin - nature of heart intentions
trespass - atonement for actual sin - evil behaviour
Examples of spiritual sacrifice - p129
dedication of life (Romans 12:1)
thanksgiving and acts of kindness (Hebrews 13:15-16)
faithful service (Phil 2:17)
