Jamie Elric had accepted her lot in life, working multiple jobs to make ends meet, and trying hard to save up enough to open her own bakery one day. What she didn’t expect was accidentally breaking a million dollar vase, and becoming auctioned out as its replacement. And she didn’t anticipate the rich and devilishly handsome Hunter Drake to be the one to make the purchase, or for him to brazenly proposition her to pay off her debt. She would have said no if he weren’t so…irresistible. Hunter Drake, the dashing and calculative eldest son of the Drake Family, has always held the world in the palm of his hand. He knew what he wanted, and he wasn’t afraid to ask for it, or do anything to get it. So, when he came to an underground auction in search of rare valuables, he found something completely different. For the first time in his life, he was unsure, and did something without thinking it over. But the stubborn Jamie Elric is not as pliant as she appeared, and soon, Hunter found himself wanting to see how far she could go…how far he could push her…and how long she can last before breaking down and giving in to their mutual attraction. Will love blossom between them, or is this ‘bought’ relationship doomed from the start? ***Bought is a standalone billionaire romance with a guaranteed happily ever after. If you love hot sexy alphas, strong independent women, action, adventure, suspense, and romance, this is for you! Told in two POV’s.
A fun, light read! A surprisingly sweet alpha male and a fierce and feisty heroine meet by change with instant fireworks, making this book a great read for any contemporary romance fan. Jamie and Hunter are opposites, but find quickly that they compliment each other in all the best ways. A bit of danger, some good humor, and of course an alpha billionaire bring together all the best into a fast-paced page-turner. I personally might have liked a touch more backstory, but overall this story was well-outlined and easy to read!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is an ARC copy, I voluntarily leave this review. Jamie works odd jobs and is saving her money to purchase an building To start a bakery. When she says yes to working at an auction house, theirs a mixup And she's one of the auctions, she is bought for 1 million dollars from Hunter I loved this story...this is the beginning. I don't like to give the story away.
I enjoyed reading this book. I would have liked a little more explanation about the auction as it was not really discussed in the book and basically the traffickers got away with the crime. The book is still good with some suspense and romance. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I really enjoy this book thought it was funny how Hunter and Jamie first meet. Though a little more could have been said t and done about the auction but it didn't detract from the story. I like the subtle way she gets under his skin. A great read and I look forward to see if the other brothers get a story as well as Lark
This is my second read of this book. I enjoyed the story, it was easy to read, had a few laughs. Have read the second book in this series. Well worth reading them.
quick read. First time reading this author. I've got another book of hers which I will try reading. This one was a hit and a miss for me. I didn't warm to any of the characters.
