(Previously Published in the Syfy Warriors Anthology)
Elite Warrior Markus traveled a long way from his home world of Drakonia. This new planet called Earth is strange and the people even stranger. He was there for one reason, to find more of his people and to protect them from enemies old and new. What he didn’t expect was to find a mate that both he and his dragon wanted to bond with.
Things just got more complicated but he was a dragon shifting warrior, he could handle anything.
KD Jones is a pen name for Kizzie Jones. KD is a single working mother following her dream of becoming an author. She wants to teach her son to follow his dreams and to believe in himself.
Starting KD Jones new Dragon Warrior series, MARKUS kicks it off with a bang. The dragon warriors of Drakonia have suffered extreme loss. Their home world is gone and they have spent years traveling through the stars to find their people who evacuated. Searching Earth for his brethren, he instead finds something much more precious. A woman who stirs both parts of his soul. Valorie becomes the center of his world and he will do anything to protect her. But when he finds his lost brethren, things take a complicated turn and Markus makes a decision that could change the tide for all of the remaining Drakonians.
I really liked MARKUS. The story was a short read that really packed a punch. Markus and the remaining warriors were hoping to find their people and find them they did, but of course there are always those who shoot above their station and arrogance takes center stage. There is danger and passion, sadness and redemption. Now I need more! MARKUS was definitely a great start to this series and I can’t wait to see what comes next!
Planet Drakonia is invaded and as many citizens who can must use portals to evacuate to two different planets – one being Earth. The remaining guards must voyage in their battle vessel to Earth arriving years later. Will they find their families, and can they assimilate to living on Earth.
Those who arrived earlier have tried to fit in and date/mate with humans, but are now remaining aloof as it has never worked out….until Markus of the guards arrives.
Quick entertaining read…
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
Markus is an elite warrior from Drakonia. After his world was destroyed by the Votens he travels to Earth looking for his King and more of his people. He never expected to find his mate. Val is working another shift at the bar when the most stunning man comes in with friends. They are drawn to each other. There is also trouble brewing and lives are changed forever. I really enjoyed this. Val is awesome, was interesting to see how things progressed. Can't wait to see how the rest of this series turns out.
This story launches a series, as a result it takes the time to do some interesting world building, and to establish the culture / society of Markus home world before getting all the characters to Earth.
Different leadership styles are shown, but one of the greatest strengths of the story is Markus' honesty, and sincerity.
Valorie brings very real and relatable baggage, so it's the simple authenticity of her character that kept her portion of the story interesting.
I accidentally started book 2 before realising my mistake and so as much as it pained me I just had to start reading Markus. That O.C.D. Is a p.i.t.a lol. Val and Markus’s story brings us an introduction to the Drakonians and I can’t wait to see where it leads us.
Cute book, but short. Took me about an hour and a half to read it. It’s predictable and not much happens beyond what the plot description says and the author isn’t one to draw out a scene. I liked the writing and characters (meaning there was nothing wrong with either one). The book was just very brief. It cost 99¢, but for how generic is was, it should have been a free Kindle Unlimited book.
I stumbled accross this book by accident and really enjoyed it. It's a short story, so a quick read. I enjoyed the story line, the characters, and the endless possibilities for future books. Fun. Fun. Fun.
A nice story of one planet's destruction, because of an invasion to finding Earth. It's how one dragon shifter found his true mate. There's also murder, kidnapping and finding family
Dragons code their planet due to alien invaders. Markus is a young warrior. He volunteers to stay and protect his fleeing people. Markus and his fellow warriors escape and land on Earth. It is a good story.
This is the first book of a new series. The author captured my attention immediately. Markus is such a sweetheart. He is drawn to Valorie at first sight. I wish the story was longer. Can't wait to read the next book!
I found this book Markus almost by fault...I really enjoyed the story line...the build up to coming to earth meeting Val,and their love...can’t wait for the next book....
