Recker Rhodes is a Skin Walker with a serious problem. Given a mission he doesn’t want, assigned to some guy he doesn’t want to shadow, Recker’s world is rocked when it turns out the guy, Alex, is actually an Alexandra.

Alexandra “Alex” Hayworth needs a new life. After the death of her mother, she’s suffering from debilitating loneliness. She’s given up on finding a man or any hope for children, so working with the Skin Walkers is her last shot at happiness. She’ll do whatever it takes to ensure she gets passed the initial vetting, even if it means opening up to big burly Recker Rhodes.

Two reluctant hearts collide in the newest installment in the Skin Walkers series.

My pack territory is in Central Montana, between Stone Crow Estates and the North Fortress. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairies and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father’s people boast a fiercely proud Scandinavian ancestry while my mother’s tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations (White Clay and Nakoda) that inspire my Skin Walker series.

I'm a huge fan of MMA, boxing, 30 Seconds to Mars, DMX, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and 21 Pilots (“…sometimes quiet is violent”). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. (I hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer...kidding. I don't love beer but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don't call me when you read this.)

Please leave feedback….well, only if it’s positive. “Keep in mind that I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my shit!  (Erykah Badu lyrics!)

What is this new thing that the author is doing where the "affliction" doesn't hit until we're almost at the end of the book? Dislike it a lot compared to the beginning of this series where it hit them and turned the heroes all possessive/alpha of the heroine as soon as they saw them.

Real talk - I enjoyed Recker and Alex's story, however, the parts regarding James brought my enjoyment down. It's not that I dislike James, it's quite the opposite in fact, but, knowing his book is next AND it's a second chance, I did not like reading about him hitting on a woman three months prior and I HATED witnessing how much he liked Alex's friend, Alise. And not only that, but him placing, and keeping, his hand on her ass AND how they were slow dancing pressed against each other AND

3.2 points. I didn't want to immediately shoot the hero as I have desired with most of the other books I have read in this series.

Re-reading this series and forgot about this one being a story of choice before affliction. In the beginning the characters seemed to fight affliction, not having a choice and so on. But this is one where Recker and Alex make a choice.
The books are still focused on the characters and Monroe's deviousness, but not the world building. Where are the Keepers, the Megalya and how is Tyce doing with his walkers.
Even with these burning questions, still in love with the series and am on to James.
As Always well worth your time and $$

I loved it.

I read a couple bad reviews about this book, and I'm confused. Everyone said recker was too tame, etc. But I thought it was perfect. They actually dated before the affliction so it was a more natural evolution of a love story. They weren't strangers thrown against their will, into the affliction/a relationship. I loved that there was an h who stood for herself. And an H who was humble and kind. Probably one of my favorite books in the series

Skin Walker Recker

I love the skin walkers series. However, this story touched me as no other. Having lost my daughter to drugs, the part of Alex's story about her mother's decent into drug addiction tore at my heart. It was so true. That part of the story said the things that I have felt and lived. Thank you Susan for describing and showing the tragedy that addiction has on not only the individual, but those that love them.

Another great book from a phenomenal series. This series never gets old as the author keeps it fresh and although it has one basic story going on each book has its own storyline as well. I love the nods to her other series Territory and the crossovers that run throughout. I recommend reading this series in order but I know there is one that is still missing. Can’t wait for more.

I kept in mind that you’re an Artist!

OMFG! This book was awesome but what simply pushed me over to Fan was SB’s personal remarks at end. The writing style brings in the familiar, the fear, the joy. Now I understand why I gravitate to her books...bonus points for the Badu shoutout, indeed!

Amazing as always!!!

I loved this story. How the other characters were tied into it just made it even better. Monroe just keeps getting sneaker and sneaker about bring angels to the walkers. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

This one had me on edge!

Recker and Alex had tough childhoods. Here being rougher than his. She was tough. She stood on her own two feet. Poor
James. I hope he recovers. I like him. I really did not like Base. He was a jerk.

Wonderful

I love this book. I really love Alex. She is a strong female character. She had a given loving heart. Decker is a great male character. He has just enough doubt to make the relationship amazing.

Loved Recker

Loved his nick name even more. Loved how the heroine was snarky and honest and open. And she needed help, desperately. Gotta give it to Monroe, he knows what he is doing and how to get what he wants. Great story.

I'm so caught up with the skin walkers, and this latest instalment was not a disappointment in the slightest! Think it might be time to re-read from the start again!

Good story.

I liked this book. Was not the best of the skin walkers but still worth 4 stars. I LOVED Alexa. Things just took long to get really started.

Ugh, I'm done with this series for a while. Its not that it's a bad story but ...... it's the basic same blue print as the past books. A few new twist but not enough to keep me interested.

Loved it

Once again you have written a book that I could not put down. Everyone of your books I fall in love with the characters... great story line, awesome story.... Love skin walkers... so sexy and protective

This was such a grest book.. both characters think very little of themselves and dont believe they are worth the affection. Its heart wrenching... Each try and fight the attraction for eachother, but together they complete eachother.. I absolutely love these teo
I love how Alex describes herself the good mixed with bad, she is a honest woman who is tough as nails. Very stubborn and doesn't ask for help when needed.
Recker was sent out to interview Alex for a job she applied for at Stonecrow. He had to follow her to see if she might be the enemy, but in the end he learnt how little she really has. How she works hard to only go home to a cold little place with no food or heat.
Recker was scared of the feelings he was developing for Alex, he almost felt bipolar wanting to kiss her but pulling away and leaving before he could. He didnt want her to think he was less of a man and reject him.
