4 Stars... Everyone needs a best friend like Violet and Natalie... This was such a fun and entertaining short story, and a much needed clearing of the air between these two friends... It certainly had those laugh out loud moments while bringing forth some tender moments as well... I must say that I love the heat building between Natalie and Cooper; looking forward to how that will all work itself out:)
If you follow the Deadwood series then you'll appreciate this short novella. It fills in some gaps and back story in an inventive manner with no need to bog down an upcoming novel. Love this series and waiting for next installment with bated breath. Ditto her Jackalope series.
TEQUILA & TIME - Deadwood Shorts is a humorous look at Violet and Natalie's lifelong friendship. The storyline takes readers on a walk down memory lane. While sitting in the Purple Door Saloon Violet and Natalie order shots of tequila to celebrate Natalie's birthday, they review mutual friends and their love interests. Ann Charles places readers on Violet and Natalie's shoulders giving them an opportunity to hear secrets and thoughts and secrets about those special people in Violet and Natalie's lives. Tequila opens the door for readers to learn about everything from soup to nuts. Charles gives her fans answers to their questions from the past and gives hints as what the future will hold
Violet is on a mission to find out what really happened between Nat and Coop and if it takes a little tequila to loosen Nat's lips than she is up for the challenge! This short really is laugh out loud funny as Violet and Nat celebrate with a party of their own as only life long friends can! Hey bartender, hit me again.....oops, I mean hey Ann, can't wait for more!
Oh I loved this. At one point I actually laughed out loud, i got some funny looks on the train let me tell you. This is just Vi and Natalie out for a few drinks for Natalies birthday. Violet has this great idea to play a drinking game instead of truth or dare they play truth or drink, with tequila shots as the drink of choice. Needless to say this leads to some funny moments but also to some very personal truths being shared and their friendship really shines through. For the regular readers of the Deadwood series you finally find out what happened between Cooper and Natalie. There's no ghosts or monsters just friendship and tequila. Hilarious.
Tequila & Time is # 7.5 in the Deadwood Mysteries Series. One thing I've found out about this series is the .5 novellas are hit and miss, and for me, this was a miss.
For me, this was 76 pages of two women getting sloppy drunk and doing what the author thinks these two 30 somethings would do when celebrating one of the women's birthday. It barely touched on the paranormal that I love in this light-hearted, no-brainer series.
But I like the series and had 2 read it. During today I finished this book and started book 8 in the series. It is back to business as normal.
1.5 stars for me. While I like the series, this was a time waster for me.
Tequila and Time by Ann Charles Book 7.5 in the Deadwood Mysteries Series and book 4 in the Deadwood Shorts Series.
Tequila & Time is another great Deadwood Shorts story! I love the drinking game "Truth or Drink" that Violet and Natalie play! The secrets come out more and more as the night at the bar goes on. And boy are some of them HOT, HOT, HOT!! This short story does not disappoint, and it really makes the reader anxious for the next book in the Deadwood Series.
Truth or Drink? What would you do when your best friend asks you an extremely personal question that you have yet to share with your BFF, even though you swear you tell them all? Read this short story to find out how Violet and her BFF Natalie play this game and what the final outcome is. Believe me, it will leave you wanting more.
Another novella adding to the Deadwood story. this time Natalie and Violet are celebrating Nat's birthday and playing a game of Truth or Drink. They ask each other questions about their past loves and about Cooper and Doc. It is a sweet and touching story making you think that there is a future for Cooper and Natalie. we already know about Doc and Violet. Just a short interlude between the story but very much part of the lore. Lisa Larsen is the narrator and she makes Natalie and Violet sparkle.
And a giant guffaw! Ann Charles has one witty brain. I can not stop reading her books. At this rate I am going to run out of money. The repartee between the characters in her books are laugh out loud. Violet & Natalie have been friends since they were 5 and they go out to celebrate Natalie’s birthday with drink or truth tequila shots, pool and tell all’s. rolicking good fun.
Love getting these back door insights into the characters I have gotten to know in the series. Toss in two life-long friends and tequila and the stories will flow. Got to love how they make their own version of Truth or dare and some of the intriguing questions you have always wanted to know get answered in this book along with a juicy ending! It's a must read!
Hi! I'm Shaunna and I'm addicted to the Deadwood series! I can't stop reading about Violet Parker, and her crazy antics...and Doc Nyce (swoon). I love these shorts, because I get a little more in depth details of the characters. If you haven't read any of this series (or any of her others) you should! And be prepared for some laughs, some steam, and all around great time!
Ann Charles is such a tease!! I loved this short story but I want more!! I love her characters. They remind me of my friends and myself. And yes, tequila is an evil, evil devil. I highly recommend this series and all of Ann's books to anyone who will stand still long enough to listen.
Violet and Natalie get trashed on tequila on Nat’s birthday. While shooting pool, they also play Truth or Drink. Finally get their grievances out in the open but they probably won’t remember a thing the next day. The boys (Coop and Doc) pour the girls into a truck and take them home. Short and full of alcohol.
I know it's a short, but I really wanted a long. What's more entertaining than Violet and Natalie together? The two of them together and drunk of course. This ties up loose ends and leaves you wanting more. Highly entertaining, well written, and fun.
I love the shorts for this series The shorts for this series are always so enlightening and absolutely funny. I love seeing Coop finally stake a claim, too bad the girls are drunk. I cannot wait to see what happens from here!
I love it! Violet and Natalie celebrate Nat's birthday in an unusual fashion! You will learn so much and I look forward to more of the romance lives of both!
Ann Charles Deadwood Shorts Tequila and Time was hysterical. From the opening of the book (drinking tequila to get in the right frame of mind) to the end of this story I laughed out loud on multiple occasions. I could just see Violet and Nat playing Truth or drink and then playing pool. Poor Cooper did not know what he was walking into.Fun, Fun, fun!
