The human and alien rebellion is at hand, but those who have already arrived at the secret military facility are without the one who has inspired them to stand against the Nall. Chris, the human chosen by the Alasharian spiritual leader, Sha Sha Ar, has been missing since the escape to the hideout. Those who have never seen Chris before, have only heard tales of his visions, begin to doubt his existence. Fear spreads through the group as humans and Alasharians alike wonder if they’re all doomed, that maybe Chris is a fantasy or has already fallen at the hands of the Nall.
Graham, Morgan and their Alasharian matches stand before the worried group to reassure them that Chris is real. They’ve barely begun to speak when they are forced to fight an unexpected foe. But before the final battle against the Nall and the Void begins, all must search within themselves to discover what part they will play to achieve their destiny—and to summon the bravery they’ll need to see it through.

The whole series is coming together now. The circle is round. A wonderful end to this journey. The humans and their mates...
Everybody is waiting for a sign of life from Chris... he is missing since the escape to the hideout. There are rumors and doubts... does he even exist? At times it was really exciting and I feared for some lives. The story had a lot of emotions in it...but in the middle of all the battles, danger, and conspiracy, there are moments with sweet passionate sex between the humans and their Alasharian’s mates...and there is always the unconditional love. Chris’s future is an important and crucial one and will involve every living soul, and Sha Sha Ar himself makes this announcement.
I enjoyed this journey, the way it’s built up and with the beautiful creatures and fantasy sci-fi environments. I could easily picture the scenery. Really well done. I only read the fourth installment and this last one of the series. Maybe it’s better to read them all to enjoy this to the fullest because there is a lot of story going on. There is a glossary at the end of every book and this is very helpful to understand all the terms. I loved all the wonderful names of the Alasharians.
The story is one with love and hope and mostly friendly personalities, it’s written in an enchanting and telling way.
The rebellion planned by resisting Alasharians and conquered humans alike comes into its own in this final volume of the ‘Soul Match’ series (and please, don’t read this before the other four books – it would completely spoil the effect). Much has to happen before anyone can relax, and between the preparations, strategizing, and actual fighting of the Void and its representatives, this installment is as suspenseful as it is exciting. It turns out that the confrontation that will decide if humans and Alasharians will survive is a battle of the spirit as much as a physical fight, and more than one revelation surprised me as events hurtled toward their conclusion.
This book, the fifth and final installment in the Soul Match series, has more action than the previous books. There is more violence as Alasharians and humans unite to destroy a common enemy, and people have to come to terms with the loss of those they love. While it effectively tied up all the loose ends, it didn’t exactly hit the spot, for me.
The world building in this series has always been of the “less is more” approach, with the Alasharian’s being aliens simply because they come from space, rather than because they’re actually all that different. For all that there are five books in this series, I think the story takes place over less than a month from Chris and Morgan’s initial capture to the climactic scene between Lasar and the Nall, a month in which everyone finds their true love, the Alasharian’s realize their invasion was immoral and their actions evil, and for all of those who were assaulted, tortured, and enslaved to be pretty much over their suffering. That’s not to say I need the author to linger over the pain and suffering, but I would have liked at least an acknowledgement that there was pain and suffering — and that it requires more than a good fucking — to get past.
A good way to end the series. You see how all 3 couples are dealing with the new relationships and the strain that the Void has put on them and how they ultimately get their HEA.
Good series, gave it a 4 because there were some areas where it felt rushed towards the end. Please head the warnings the author provides, I personally enjoy reading the content but I have known people who don’t and have given book bad reviews because they didn’t notice the warnings provided.
Rating: 3 stars I thought the parts in the book that actually dealt with the plot were good. It was nice to get everything wrapped up and get to the HEA. I still think the author dragged this series out. Less sex and more answers to plot questions would have been nice. Frankly I would recommend saving yourself some money and read the first two in the series, skip books 3 and 4 and jump straight to the last book.
Since the very first Soul Match book was published, I have been completely engrossed by this series. It’s no secret that I had loved every single Morticia Knight book I’ve read, so to see her take a step from the historical and contemporary BDSM and move it to sci-fi, I was intrigued. What I found was an engaging series with wonderful characters, an interesting plotline, and more of the BDSM elements that I’ve come to associate with this author. I was never disappointed.
Before I begin the review, I must say that it is absolutely necessary to read this entire series in order. Each book picks up where the last left off, and the last book is a culmination of every other book.
In this book, the resistance finds itself at Blodgett Peak without Chris, their newfound spiritual leader who has been adopted by the Sha Sha Ar. Those who never met Chris begin to doubt his existence, while Morgan and Graham try to prove he does exist and that he is alive and well—even when they don’t know that he is alive.
More and more humans and Alasharians are beginning to find their soul matches, which is confusing for some and painful for others. When Chris, Lasar, Nary, and the rest of the resistance arrive, everyone is relieved. Except the battle is about to begin, and there’s no telling who will survive and who will not. All they can do is hope they are prepared enough to fight for their lives or all will be lost.
This book brings everything together. Morgan, Chris, Graham, and their matches all get to tell their stories here, which brings closure to all three storylines. Once Chris is brought back into the picture, most of the attention is on him, but I felt satisfied enough because each person got to share their events.
I loved seeing Morgan fully accepting his matches and growing because of it. Graham, too. He has grown so much since the last book, and I enjoyed seeing his growth. I just wish we had seen more of Balor! I loved his character.
I cannot speak about the ending because it would reveal too much, but I was satisfied with the way it ended. However, I wouldn’t object to further stories about what happens next. How do they rebuild? How do they accept their new positions in life? Those sorts of things.
For fans of this series, this book is not to be missed. If you haven’t read the series, start at book one. You won’t be disappointed.
One signature I like from Morticia’s writing is that her series books open with the characters from the previous books. If you’ve read any of my reviews from this or her Kiss of Leather series, you know I end them with a cry for more, so opening the next book with a glimpse of that relationship is a nice treat. Doesn’t stop me from begging shamelessly, just so she doesn’t forget I’m waiting with my hands out.
This series opened with aliens from Alashar invading Earth. The aggressive battle leaves the world as we know it devastated and a future of slavery for those who survived. Imprisoned with his cousin Morgan, Chris isn’t entirely sure what to make of the alien who rescues them from the abusive slave master, but somehow he’s still got hope. The first two books set the stage for Chris’s relationship with Lasar and Nary, the triad dynamic that's key to future relationships in the series, as well as the mystery of the Void. An evil entity infiltrating the aliens, making them more brutal than ever. As Morgan and then their childhood friend, Graham, find their Soul Matches, they will become the foundation of the resistance and the only chance to save the world.
Everything about this final book, from checking in with each relationship and building their part in the final culmination, to the loss of Lasar’s sister, and the epic battle to victory was nearly perfect (coulda done without the Morgan scare, but that’s my nitpick). All the threads were pulled together and the message that love truly can conquer all was impossible to resist.
Do I want more? Always, but I’m in love with this collective happy ending.
I received an ARC of Fighting for All from the publisher in return for an honest review
This is book 5 in the series and you really should read the other four before this one. You will need what everyone has been through to get to this point. And because I said so😝
Chris, Lasar and Nary arrive at the air base the rebellion is camped out at, with the Nall and his forces hot on his heels. Can they overcome the Nall and more importantly, the Void? The fate of the human race AND Alasharian people depend on it!
It's always sad to see the end of a series, particularly one I've enjoyed so much, but Ms Knight pulls a blinder with this one!!
All three triads have their time, both sexy and fighting the Void. Lasar suffers a terrible loss. Morgan and Rama are gravely injured. The Sha Sha Ar actually turns up for real too! And Chris fully embraces his destiny. I loved that there were some male/female pairings beginning here too, and that they were unexpected. I loved that the Sha Sha Ar changed the rules, so that not only Chris embraces his destiny, but Lasar and Nary too.
While it's obvious what the outcome of the battle is, it's HOW it's won that would be spoilers, and what the participants to to overcome the pull of the Void.
I can't say much else, or that would be spoilers, but know that love really does make the world go round, no matter what!!
I remember the reading the first two books a while ago, and when I saw the final book had been released I went back and read the entire series all over again. I loved this entire series, and the final book was amazing. I urge anyone thinking of reading this series to do it!
I've been dying to see how this would all pan out. How would they defeat the Nall? And the Void? The resolution was as good as I hoped it would be. I loved the action sequences and how everyone came together to battle. There were some scary moments...and one big one...but everything words out in the end! I liked that all of the matches were featured in this book but mostly loved that Chris, Nary and Laser were back in the forefront. Fantastic series, great storyline and characters, a wonderful resolution and a very sexy epilogue. I highly recommend you read this.
After spending an entire month's (And then some.) book budget to find it, we have finally come to a satisfying ending for this story. It is a good thing that I am such a huge fan of this author and that the conclusion was available at the time I read this. I would have been devastated to have been left to the void. But after an epic battle, all is well. It may be fun to continue in this brave new world, but I am pleased with the way things turned out.
This is the final book and can't be enjoyed as a standalone because each book builds on the previous one. It begins with an invasion of Earth by aliens similar to humans but larger and stronger and some are honorable but others viciously evil. The honorable aliens find out they were misled about humans, some find love with humans and they find allies among them to overthrow their evil fellow aliens. It is exciting with both good things and awful things happening to the humans. This is a well written riveting story with a HEA. Highly recommended.
This was an exciting ending to the events that brought the Alasharians to Earth. The Void was insidious and a bit frightening in its ability to deceive and corrupt. I also found it terrifying that there seemed to be an indication that some small part of a person is allowed to remain such that they will always be horrified.
But, in this book, all of the new matches (but especially Chris, Laser, and Nary) learn that love truly overcomes despair.
I very much enjoyed this series. It had an interesting story with some pretty spicy sex scenes. I only had 2 complaints. The first was that it was split into too many books. It could have easily been 1 book, maaaaaaybe 2. The second was the sha sha ar...suuuuuper annoying. And not because he never gave a straight answer. Because everytime chris talked to him he was a giggling weirdo... other than that, I would definitely recommend this series.
I was looking forward to this book so much, and I was not disappointed. I'm just sad to see the series ending! I wish there was more because I would love to see how everyone gets on after the end, and how they rebuild from what was lost.
