Ilias Hayes is coming to believe that there is truth to the saying ‘no good deed goes unpunished.’
Ilias Hayes was flattered when he was asked to pose in a charity calendar shoot. He was even more thrilled to participate when Perry invited his boyfriend, Terry, to pose with Ilias. Being one of the couples in the calendar would cement their relationship.
Except it doesn’t. Terry dumps him, and Ilias realizes just how warped that relationship was. He plans to focus on his career with the San Antonio Police Department and work out why he stayed with someone who treated him so badly.
But a call from dispatch about a fight at a doctor’s office brings a very interesting, opinionated man into Ilias’ life. He isn’t sure if Doctor Torres is flirting or not, but Ilias wants to find out—if he can get past his own fears and escape someone who wants Ilias for themselves.
I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.
And it's really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I'll just let y'all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there's something specific you'd like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D
Ilias and his boyfriend, Terry were a part of the doomed calendar photo shoot. Ilias thought that doing this together would be good for their relationship, but Terry had other thoughts. Turns out he was only using Ilias for the connections the calendar was sure to bring in! Ilias also realizes how toxic their relationship really is, and decides to end things with him. Kind of embarrassed he stayed with someone who treated him badly, he swears off men to concentrate on his police career. Things change when there is a problem at a health care clinic and Ilias meets Dr. Torres. He's immediately smitten with the "adorkable guy" his partner calls him. He definitely wants to get to know him better, but fears getting caught in the same situation he just got himself out of. This was a good, quick read! Bailey Bradford always gives us a bit of drama and suspense along with our romance! Ilias is so adorable when he wants to date the good doctor! They had immediate sparks and I liked how they were thinking how could they see the other again. Once again we get an interesting story and a steamy fun book! Each book can be read as a standalone so feel free to give this a go! You will want to go back and read all the others because they are very enjoyable!
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the sixth book in the series, and there is a thread running through all the books, although this could stand alone too.
Ilias has finally realised that his boyfriend is not a good guy, and taken the unusual step of standing up for himself. As he is a bear shifter this, this might seem a bit of a surprise, but he has a gentle and giving nature. Luckily he meets Henry, a doctor when he is called out to a suspected robbery at Dr Torres clinic. The two men have a clear attraction and Henry has a willingness to give and take, which is a revelation to Ilias.
This is a sweet novella with a lovely couple finding each other under difficult circumstances, and making a change for the better.
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 6 in the Calendar Men series, and I would recommend you read Jan through May before this one, if only to give you a better picture of this photo shoot and what's happened up to now. Not totally necessary though.
Having dumped his boyfriend right after shooting their photo for June, Ilias finds himself on a callout to a fight at a local doctor's office. Meeting Henry makes his heart swell with everything he had been looking for up to this point. There is just a small matter of someone dealing drugs out of Henry's office!
I'm really enjoying this series.
They have, for the most part, (May not included!) just the right amount of loves, drama, sexy time, emotions and the whole gamut of emotions that need to be in a book to make them engaging and enjoyable.
This one did seem a little longer than the rest, but they are all a similar page length.
I loved Ilias and Henry, both separately and together. They really are perfect for each other!
While it's painfully obvious (to me anyway) WHO is doing the dirty on Henry, I liked being proved correct, just as much as I would have liked to have been proven wrong!
I read this in one sitting while suffering from a book AND an alcohol hangover, so despite its longer length, there it will sit!
Great addition to the series. Love to see what happens next with this shoot!
Simplistic and not what I was expecting....everything was fast insta love and yeah kinda boring. I know it’s a pretty short story but still, the writing was a bit subpar to what this writer usually writes.
Also the Goodreads summary isn’t the right one and you should read the real one on amazon or the authors’ page.
