So I really enjoyed "Disrupt" It was incredibly easy to just kick back and get sucked in here.
This being my first experience with this particular author I wasn't quite sure what to actually expect.
Didn't need to worry at all; as almost instantly I was swept up into the simplicity and magic that makes up this excellently written story.
So this tale centres around Eden Avery and Donovan Beckett.
Eden has just moved to Donavon's small town for work after being left high and dry by her father.
Donovan is a resident at the motel she is now employed by essentially her new neighbour.
He is as closed off as Eden is open and our girl makes it her new mission in life to burrow under his skin and take up residency with Donavon understandably fighting her every step of the way.
Both seem polar opposites in nature but were also incredibly easy to relate and emphasise with.
I have to confess though I did kinda guess very early on what the big reveal was going to be here and I was right, but no matters I still very much devoured Disrupt; it didn't make a damn bit of difference to my overall perception and enjoyment here.
This was a slow build romance concentrating much more on the build-up and journey rather than bedroom gymnastics, which was really lovely and one of my favourite aspects of this story.
It kinda made it so worth the wait when we eventually did arrive at the expected destination.
Oh, the anticipation.
Told mostly from Edens POV with a few instances devoted to Donavon's side worked fine for me, but if I'm being honest here I would have liked to see maybe a bit more from Donavon's side of the fence.
Mainly because I felt like I had more of a handle on Eden and He was slightly more a closed off book It would have been nice to maybe delve a bit deeper here.
I also really adored these guys nicknames for each other like so much (Stretch and short-stuff).
Really original.
The epilogue here was one I also really adored one of my favourites for a while.
So this was a fabulous read that delivered on all fronts a deeply emotive read that I truly enjoyed.
Happy to recommend this one folk.

If there is one book this summer that everyone should read, it’s this one! This has been one of the most well written, beautiful, funny & heart ranching, romances that I have come across in a long while! The only thing that ticked me off though was that we don’t find out what happened to Donovan until close to the end (chpt 23). When it is finally revealed, I cried like a maniac!

I loved this story because not only are the characters truly wonderful, but also because the Author took the time to develop their relationship. She didn’t do what so many do of having them hook up instantly and be all about sex all the time! They became friends and slowly got to know each other, then halfway through, they became more.

What I also liked was that this was a safe read with no OP drama & Hero is NOT a Manho (WooHoo!) & heroine is a virgin).

When Hero was 22, he had drunk sex with a woman he met in a bar and got her pregnant. He didn’t love her or anything which was a big plus for me! He ends up getting custody of his son and becoming a dedicated single father who loves his kid with all his heart. But when his son Brady is 3 yrs old, his mother comes to pick him up for a few hours and tragedy strikes when her boyfriend kills her & his son. For seven yrs after that, he is heartbroken and just barely existing - until Eden came along and brought him back to life...

5 'Sunshine To his Dark' Stars


OH...WOW... What an emotional, heart breaking and hopeful healing story! One of my most anticipated and ended up being one of my fav reads this year!

Eden Avery’s life has dealt her blow after blow in the last few months of her life – actually it has never been the same since her mother and grandmother deaths – so when an amazing opportunity shows up in her desperate situation, so holds on to it like a lifeline.

What she could never imagine is that in this new adventure in a charming Inn in the most adorable small town would bring her face to face with a man like she never met before.

Keeping other people at arm’s length—fuck, well past that—is easy for me. So easy that it’s more than just my default—it’s become second nature. Except when it comes to Eden Avery.
She’s single-handedly putting cracks in walls I need in place in order to survive.

I’m celibate and damn good at it because the idea of being touched makes me ill. Until now. Until her. I want to fuck, mark, protect, and claim her as mine.

Ever since then I’ve been far, far nicer to her than I should be because it feels like being an asshole to her is equivalent to kicking an angel.

I will not reveal his background, because that would be spoiling this extremely emotional journey for you, but from the start you – along Eden – can imagine he’s hiding something monumentally painful that shattered him to the reclusive and shadow living.

Ella Fox truly outdid herself with this story, the emotional charge, and all the raw feelings we could feel in these two, cemented from the start that this two broken souls needed each other to heal. Two halves fated to become one.

Never in my life have I felt anything like the carnality and emotion of this, the sensation of being untethered to anything but him so extreme I briefly wonder if there’s an earthquake, then realize it’s not the earth shifting beneath me. It’s just Donovan.

All these emotions they brought up on one another, and the intensity of their attraction, and though that intrigued Eden, and like the bright sunshine that she was, she was compelled to get close to Donovan, and help his heal in some way, even if only in a friendly way, Donovan, the prickly man himself, tried his best to keep her away. He thought himself to broken beyond hope, and Eden too good and too pure to be tainted by the shadow of a man he was.

This tiny beautiful woman practically has a goddamn halo and I’m nothing but a broken-down husk of a man who shouldn’t be anywhere near her.

I never forget what I’ve lost—ever—but when my focus is on her, a big part of me wants to be better—to actually try living instead of just pretending to.

Not only is their love story, the stuff epic ROMANCES are made of, but I have to stand out the incredible secondary characters that I hoping – and begging – Ms. Fox will give us more inkling into, and maybe a book of their own for all that younger crew (specially Julie and Morrow) that like Maggie and Ron, welcomed Eden into their fold, and became her family in every way. They gave the story the perfect lightness and fun to go along with the heavy emotional moments and made the book a journey through out the ALL the possible emotions, and something that I devoured from start to finish.

Once all was unveiled and Donovan allowed himself to feel, and heal his heart, with Eden’s help, I have to say, OH BOY… Was he the PERFECT ALPHA! His love and devotion to Eden was everything a girl dreams of, and a true confirmation of what we saw from the start. They were the definition of soulmate!

Deep, deep down in the depths of my soul, the very thing that makes me who and what I am, I feel him.

“What’s happening right now?” I ask softly.
“What’s happening is I can’t fight it anymore. You’re fucking mine,” he answers, his voice deadly serious. “No more resistance, no more bullshit. We’re happening.”

I have no words to describe how much I ADORE this emotional and unforgettable journey Ms. Fox took us on, in Disrupt. Eden and Donovan, along with their amazing story are now on my top of favorite reads of this year. Their über emotional, sweet, complex, sexy and extraordinary tale is just as EPIC as her love, and will be forever branded in my heart. I can’t wait to see what Ella Fox will give us next! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

The man who spent so much time trying to get away from me somehow became my whole world.

As long as there is life, there’s a chance to make it right. I won’t ever lose sight of that.

And I promise this is going to be a spoiler-free review but this warning has made me think that the secret is something awesome/shocking/unique etc and I waited for the big revelation of it eagerly and then, I was so very disappointed.

We have a guy who doesn't live but who just continues to exist.
He is grumpy.
He barely talks to people and behaves as if all of them are a nuisance.
He only shows affection and kindness to his parents and very close relatives.
He has been celibate for 8 years and he doesn't touch any woman. He doesn't like being touched, either.
He lives in a hotel room.

Sooo, I may be the psycho here but I made lots of assumptions and went as far as this one:

I assumed that he once had a wife and a child and one day, robbers broke into their house, raped them, robbed them and, then, killed his wife & child and only he survived. Now he is the way he is due to this catastrophic event.

When he explains what he has gone through towards the end of the book, I said, "Huh, is that it?"

I understand how sad it is what he experienced but it surely doesn't need to make a person the way he is. It just doesn't sit well with me. Now with this revelation, his present situation seems like an exaggerated one.

Well, it is me, and my disappointment due to my expectation vs reality, so you may still give it a chance but please do not expect a big deal of a secret revelation!

The heroine is a very sweet and sassy girl and I liked her although there have been times I didn't understand why she pushed so far when he pulled away.

The story is emotional, sometimes funny and sometimes hot. Despite my disappointment in the "big" secret revelation, I still liked the book.

I didn't like the ending, though. I just don't like it when the couple doesn't have much time as being a couple and the writer makes them parents as soon as possible.

Come on, after 8 years of celibacy on his side and her being a virgin until recently, they should have been just "lovers" or just "husband & wife" before they became "mum & dad". Well, I know most people will like it this way, I just don't.

I've decided to read this book after reading some fabulous reviews. Sadly it didn't really work for me.

The story as such is good. I liked the Hero, even if he behaved like an ass at the beginning. The heroine was cool too.

It was the little things that didn't let me enjoy the story as much.
First of all, I'm not a fan of playlists for books. I don't know the songs, so I would have to stop reading and go on youtube and listen to the song and then go back reading. So not my thing. And it weren't really songs that made the story. It's just what the heroine had on her playlist and what they danced to at a club. So not important.

Julie, the daughter of the Heroine's boss, is the new BFF of the Heroine. It happened so suddenly I had no idea. And Julie knew everything of the Heroine (that she was a virgin, what she did with the Hero) and the reader wasn't informed by it. Julie just sort of mentioned these things and I'm like: How does Julie know these things? So confusing. And I found it creepy that they discussed the Heroes ability in the sack. Julie and the Hero are like family (cousins) and she wanted to know every detail about Heroines date with him.

Then there's the issue with Heroine's dad. He stole all the money from the Heroine so she had to drop out of her classes at college. It was so much money, inherited by her mother and grandmother after their death. Her dad just emptied her own bank account.
And the new wife of said dad created new credit cards and maxed them out. So Heroine has no money, is in debt, lost her childhood home and had no contact to her dad whatsoever.
Dad puts his head out of his ass, only because of the Hero and all is fine. He can move into the motel and work with Heroes parents. No mention of him stealing his daughters money, or paying her back eventually. No, they all trust him and become the very best of friends. And daughter just forgives him, because money isn't as important as spending christmas with her beloved father.
This whole drama at the beginning was swept under the rug. It was anti-climatic.

The epilogue wasn't my thing. It's a chapter where we skip 9 months of the life of the Hero and Heroine. We miss so much. The pregnancy announcement, him proposing to her, their wedding, them moving in together?, and so on. They don't spend any time as a couple in the book. At the beginning they're enemies. Then it's on and off. And then Hero decides he wants the Heroine and pooof, we are 9 months later at the HEA. It's sweet that they get their little girl, but I wasn't with them at that point.

And too many Twilight references. I loved Twilight. But please don't compare the Hero with Edward Cullen. That didn't fit at all.

So I'm giving 2 stars for an ok read.

5 Stars!! This book was amazing!!!

Eden has just got a new assistant manager job at a hotel in a small town. She has lost everything she had when she found out her Dad has wiped her bank account and ran. She can’t finish college and has nothing left. She is now on her own in a brand new town where everyone knows everyone. She quickly makes friends and falls in love with her new home...... except her neighbor Donovan.

Donovan is a broken man. He is just existing, he feels he has nothing left to offer anyone. He’s built walls around himself and became a broody unfriendly asshole in order to keep his distance from everyone. That’s worked well for him until he meets the quirky new girl in town who insists on befriending him.

Slowly Eden chips away at Donovan’s walls. There is a lot of push and pull between the two of them. I will say the way Donovan decided to finally stake his claim was awesome. I loved it so much. I balled when I found out what brought Donovan to be the shell of a man he is when he meets Eden. It broke my heart for him.

This was so good and definitely made my favorites list. It made me laugh and cry and at moments I wanted to shake someone. It was the best kind of read. If you love an broody alpha male and quirky heroine this book is worth a shot.

Disrupt by Ella Fox is the story of Eden Avery and Donovan Beckett.
Eden is trying to start over after her father and his new wife took all of her money which left her unable to pay for her college nor a home. So she took a job in a somewhat small town as a hotel manger that gives her a free room to stay in. There she meets Donovan who is a regular person that has his own room at the hotel. Donovan is very unfeeling and anti-social to her and most people...which we later learn his tragic past that cause him to close off. The attraction between the two is hard to not act on and Eden slowly starts to crack Donvan's harsh attitude.
Loved this book and so enjoyed their story. I am defiantly now a fan of Ms. Fox's writing.

This isn't my first read by Ella Fox, but is the most unpredictable, dramatic and intense ( not only in an intimate meaning) book of her.
The first thing I liked of DISRUPT is the real life vibe. From the beginning you'll notice that this story is far from a fairytale. It's a race of emotions, from sadness and/ or loneliness to tryst, hope and happiness. The story is a crescendo of feelings and events. Bad and good ones. But the angst , drama and twists are the very protagonist in DISRUPT.
Disrupt is a racing heartbreaking romance. And the thing that you never know what's gonna happen next, will earn your interest and get your curiousty on a very high level.
Nothing is hearts and flowers for both of the main characters. Eden and Donovan have their own past, worries and doubts. And maybe that's the trick to get them together, no matter what they have been through, no matter how their imperfect life. Their relationship will change from an extreme to another. Because at the first sight they don't like each other. Especially him. Donovan knows so well how to keep people far away. He's cold and diffident. An ass. To be clear. Either way, they will learn a lot about the other,until what they feel to each other will be completely different from their first approach. They will find their own way of understanding, complicity and compatibility. And what the next step from there? Love, oviously.
I didn't give 5stars because of the ending. It's a happy ending, but it rushs.

Holy socks blown! This story was so worth waiting for! The raw emotions and the passion just collide as Eden and Donovan cross paths and boy is it explosive! First the concept with the little side stories to the romance between these two were brilliant. Kept you totally engaged and wanting to know more of what will happen. The polarity that Eden and Donovan have is insane as well. I really enjoyed those little moments these two had plus their banter. It was completely priceless. This story has a few heartbreaking twists as well. My emotions were all over the place as I read this story but I could not get enough. I was honestly sad it ended.
Overall, I found this a fun, witty and passionate read with some really raw moments. I found that these moments brought Eden and Donovan closer. Once they confide in each other, it was like the flood gates opened. Not gonna lie, I adored Julia too! She was priceless when in cahoots with her mom and aunt. It was so worth it! I would snag up this bad boy fast because it was a stunning read. Not enough words can cover how much I loved it!

Slightly angsty read with lots of sweet moments. Eden Avery has to start her life all over again. It seems her father stole all of her money and even though she has only one year to go at Penn State, she has to drop out. Since the hospitality industry was her major it's not a reach that she gets a job as the assistant manager at a small town's motel. It's quaint and just the breath of fresh air she needs to make a new start.

One of the permanent residents of the motel is Donovan Beckett. A brooding, gorgeous tall hunk of man that has the personality of a prickly cactus. He keeps to himself, rarely talks and snaps out quite a bit. Hmmm...I sense a mystery in the making.


Eden and Donovan have painful pasts, and while we know Eden's we have much to learn about Donovan's. Their's is a slow, gradual relationship. No wham bam thank you ma'am.

Good read, well thought out plot.

My heart went out to Donovan, uhhh no one, no one should have to go thru what he went thru..And then we have Eden, her story was also heartbreaking but I liked that she still was a positive person, doing what she had to do, the only thing that I wished was that she didn't let Donovan get away with his jerkiness at times, but to hold on firm..Yes, he recognized his jerkiness and went about to correct it..You couldn't help but fall in love with his family..Great book!

This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and yes you will need tissues.
Both Donavan and Eden have been dealt a bad set of cards, you follow them through the ups and downs of their relationship ( if you can call it that at first) and see all of it as if watching a movie.

A história é muito bem escrita, não é corrida tudo tem seu tempo, a personagem feminina é uma das minhas favoritas de todos os tempos e o personagem masculino tem seu encanto também, mas nada comparado a ela, ela é fodona.

Sem duvida nenhuma compraria esse livro pra ter na minha estante, muito fofo ele.

El comienzo es súper lento. Demasiado que decir de Eden y entiendo, la autora puede haber pasado días, semanas o meses escribiendo todo eso pero NO HACÍA FALTA. En mi opinión.
Eden se mantuvo firme en su línea. No se dejaba ni escondía, procuró aferrarse al orgullo para continuar.
Donovan tenía más cambios de humor que una mujer menstruando 🙄
Imaginé que tenía que ver con alguna muerte, pero no pensé que la revelación se hiciera al padre de Eden, y ese fue otro punto mal manejado.
Mi escena favorita fue la cena de cumpleaños.

Ok I didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it either. It was just soo predictable. These brooding Heroes with a painful past and an angelic Heroine who comes and crawls her way through his stone cold heart? Yes. Done ✅ soooo many times before, and honestly the writing didn’t differentiate itself from previous novels either.


Honestly, it’s not a bad book but it’s very predictable. I legit guessed the whole narrative whilst reading it. If you like these emotional reads, go ahead but if you too are bored of these obvious narratives, then I’d say look for another read 🙃

Disrupt was a book that I had mixed feelings about, overall it was a good story and the characters were interesting but right when you were starting to enjoy the story and get to know the characters better it ends. Frustrating because I would have loved to see how they progressed in their relationship and how Donavan became a better version of himself.

This book was interesting to say the least, Eden is a girl who has be touched by tragedy and is in a bind because of her father. She was on her way to earning a degree and her dad ruined the opportunity for her. Donavan is a man who also has be struck by tragedy, the worst kind I must say, and that has forever changed him. Both individuals deal with their circumstances differently, while one is happy and positive that things will get better the other is down right mad at the world and wants nothing to do with anyone in it.

So obviously it's love at first encounter...Right???!?!? NO, it is not. I found it refreshing to actually have a character who was so heartbroken that it literally took a while before they opened up to let anyone in. I honestly can not stand books where characters just rush into love, especially when one had suffered something traumatic in their life.

There were parts in this book that I loved, Donavan and Eden's interactions, Julie helping Eden to get Donavan's attention, and Donavan's back story. There were also parts that I could do without, like Sammis' character, Eden being an expert in all things, and some of the dialogue was just corny.

Overall I think the book was an okay read, but I would have loved to have read more about how they got to their HEA and how Donavan would be like with their new addition.

Eden is our heroine and after her wretched father stealing all of her money, losing their childhood home as well as all her belongings and she has to drop out of college because she is broke, she moves to a small town where she takes a job at a small motel. She is hoping to start over and eventually save up enough money to make her way back to college. Vanishing without a trace, her father and his new wife have left her destitute and heartbroken. But that does not stop her from picking up the pieces and putting her life back together.

Donovan is the hot, broody neighbor and I use "neighbor" loosely. He has a room at the motel that is his home base due to being a skip tracer and traveling a lot. Donovan is not very nice to Eden when he first meets her and kinda turned me off to him immediately. I knew he was closed off probably due to a heartbreak himself and let me tell you his story is a whopper as well as extremely sad. Obviously because of his walls he has built up, he does not let Eden remotely close to him...yet.

You definitely feel the attraction although at times it seems stiff and awkward and there is a whole situation revolving around sex that I will wait for you to read about. I liked seeing Eden break down Donovan's walls but it was a little anti-climatic. It was still a good storyline and all the loose ends were tied up by the end. Good beach read.

When Eden's father empties her bank account, which held all her inheritance from her grandma, and was used to pay her tuition, Eden has no choice but to move to start over. She settles in a small town working at a hotel, and this is where she ends up meeting her grumpy, anti-social neighbor, Donovan "Stretch" Beckett. She's oddly attracted to the man who rarely speaks to her and when he does, it's only to grunt at her and speak in a few monosyllables. Eden's curious about him, but not that curious, considering that he's a complete jerk to her when he even bothers to speak to her. Still...there's something about the man, perhaps it's the pain she senses lies beneath his surface. The fact that he's hot is just icing on the mysterious cake.

I just knew when these two finally gave into their attraction, it would be pretty explosive, mostly emotionally, and it was. I am heeding the author's wish for a spoiler free review, so I'll just say that Stretch's issue is pretty heartbreaking, and it made Donovan doubly reluctant to let anyone into his heart. Thank God for Eden, because she's persistent as hell!

It took me a little longer than usual to get swept away in this book. But when the pace did pick up it was amazing.

I liked that Eden was feisty and not a complete doormat. She did seem somewhat of a pushover when it came to Donovan. But I get it. Lol I soooo get it.

When we finally received Donovan's back story, my heart broke into bits and pieces for him. I knew it was something but I didn't know it was that.

The characters were well developed and I enjoyed them. I felt like the whole thing with Eden's dad fell a little flat with the way it was resolved. I guess I expected a giant plot twist and AH HA! moment. But it never came and the book ended.

I LOVED the epilogue. It was bittersweet and amazing all at the same time.

I would definitely recommend this book. It is low on angst and drama. Nothing crazy or over the top.

This book was not at all like I was expecting. I couldn't quite figure out what was going on with Donovan. It was killing me trying to go through a plethora of scenarios. What I discovered took me by surprise. Eden was a breath of fresh air.

I was disappointed in how fast things wrapped up. I wanted to see how things progressed with Eden and her father. I wanted to have more follow through with how things progressed with Eden to get them to the part of a conclusion. It just felt rushed to me. Especially, after such build up for the first 75% of the book. This author is fantastic. I love her work and am quick to read anything she writes. This just missed the mark at being what I know her books can be.

This book will take you on a emotional ride. Eden and Donovan have a tough past, and emotional baggage. I liked their story, who doesn’t like a good looking broody man? They both have been dealt with issues upon issues in their life. He’s up there with all the jerkiness, gruff and brooding but then also redeemed himself. Eden just stirs his emotions in different ways and he knows it.

I enjoyed their story, I breezed through it in no time. I was a little bummed it ended because I wanted a little more. Would recommend.
