An excellent little book designed to help keep deacon ministry in the Baptist tradition focused, effective, and most importantly, biblical. Dr. Wolfe shows remarkable sensitivity to an office that is immensely misunderstood, misjudged, and misaligned with the biblical mandate of who should serve and how. Focusing on four key areas, the book lays out a blueprint that is flexible and can be applied in any setting, small to large, urban to rural, and traditional to contemporary. Written to the church member and pastor alike, this little volume can be a helpful check up, map for moving forward, or even corrective for the direction of an existing deacon body.
