A New Dawn #5

Broken Skies

Rate this book
A rift has opened

A portal to an alien world.

And the visitors coming through... aren’t friendly.

Julianne and Marcus race back to Tahn to deal with a new threat—strange, alien creatures flooding through a mysterious portal.

The influx hasn’t just unsettled the human inhabitants in the region, either. The remnant are restless, and attacking like they never have before.

Tahn rises to the threat, and sends Julianne and her team on a whole new kick ass adventure.

Set on the foundation laid by the Kurtherian Gambit Series, Broken Skies tells a new story in the Age of Magic.

Bringing the series closer together

For those who have read so far to be looking at reading book 5 of this series, or maybe Kurtherian Gambit fans who are checking out other books written in this universe, The Age Of Magic, part of the Kurtherian Gambit Universe, consists of quite a few series. So far, with the exception of a few, they may mention characters of another series or even be spinoffs of other series but it is seldom they interact. This one seems different. Although the characters don't interact physically, the story lines seem to be heading in the same direction, with similar points of conflict. It makes me look forward to when the points collide as I think they might, or maybe come very close to it, as long as the Age of Magic continues afterwards! (Too many great story lines/characters that it'll be hard to say goodbye to. LOL.) Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Crazy week they are having!

Remnants are either running towards something or running for their lives....from what? Scary sh#@!

On another note, please send a trillion varks to every bureaucracy on earth.....F@#% paperwork! Seriously though, can you imagine how fast they could clean up paper waste...can you imagine them being used like goats are used in herds to clear weeds off lots and cemeteries? Very eventful book this one! Kudos!

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

This stuff is gold! You MUST read the author notes! Yes, Michael, that is a fairly typical response for an Aussie.

So.... More suspense, more fighting, more magic, more new characters, more baddies killed, and all with hilarious interactions. Loving This Series! For those who have started with The Age of Magic, do yourself a favour (yes, I'm quoting Mollie here) and buy Death Becomes Her, by Michael Anderle.

Brilliant Aussie author

Amy Hopkins, from one Aussie to another, you totally rock! Absolutely loving this series. The, pee my pants, laugh out loud moments certainly get the family looking at me like I’m crazy. But oh my goodness, you do it so well. Immediately, the reader is pulled in right to the very last word in the book. A thoroughly captivating read with some fantastic characters. Bring on the next book.

Just amazing!

What can I say, the writing is tremendous, the story is grand enough to fill me with that sense of adventure, and the character building has that amazing quality to it that gives every chart it's own life. I just wish that it was somehow possible to get a new installment of the chronicles of the lives of these character few days.

Loved it

I'm loving reading Julianne's story and having her able to connect with Amelia and maybe soon with Ezekiel and all the characters with the "bracelets" is fantastic. Whoever thought of them, KUDOS! The series is brilliant and a great mix of adventure, personal, battles and a ton of extreme scares. Also you should read the author's notes always. Enjoy!

Another good series

I really enjoy this series. All the characters are fun and the storylines are great. Julianne is a very smart leader and all of her crew keep it together and have a fun time while beating the bad guys. Cannot wait for the next book.

Another fun story

A long wait for this one but it was worth the wait. New enemies and the challenges that come with them. Looking forward to the next installment.

I enjoyed this book very much - just not quite as much as the previous ones, hence the four stars.

I'm not quite sure what was different this time, because I love the characters, and the sense of humour was still up there.

I've a feeling that it's probably me, going through a bad patch with my health right now , so I couldn't concentrate, and absorb the plotline, as well as usual but, whatever it was, the book is still totally readable, and fits in really well with the others in the series.

Sadly, I won't be going straight on to the next book in the series because, as usual, my reading list is directing me back to the Rise of Magic Series, to book seven: The Gods Beneath, so it'll be a few days before I come back to the next book in THIS series!

Hopefully, by then, whatever it was that made things not as good for me, will be over and done with.
