I’m a sucker for a military romance. What can I say, I love a woman in uniform. Forever Faithful was a nice follow up to Always Faithful with Nic once again being deployed overseas, this time in a covert operation doomed to failure. This one has all the feels and angst i was looking for to escape the holiday frenzy. A bit repetitive but still a nice catch up with Nic and Claire.

Though I felt that a group of claqueurs are behind the reviews of the first book, Always Faithful. I really liked this sequel. Nic's vulnerability and insecurity is well depicted, there are some push and pull bits which I enjoyed tremendously. I look forward to its upcoming book, Faithful Valor.

I don't know, but there something clunky about the way Isabella writes that grates & pulls me back. The stories are really good, but need more "oil" to make them flow. Really not sure I'll go onto the third one!

The story opens with a lot of action straight away. We don’t know what is happening but we do know that Nic is severely injured after something big went down. The narrative then jumps back to months before the accident, when Nic learns she will be returning to combat in Afghanistan for a special mission documenting local tribal leaders with a civilian.

There are a lot of flaws with the writing that made reading this book a chore. Entire phrases were repeated ad nauseum throughout and the subplots are only dealt with superficially. There are issues with the neighbor, Nic’s commander stateside, etc. However, the conflicts are overemphasized, with explanations for each scenario occurring several times. All this without much in the way of resolutions for these subplots made the story stagnate. It needed a much more thorough editing to clean up the misused words (‘taunt’ nipples?), repetitive phrases, and the excessive number of times people’s names were used. It felt like the author tried to make sure we knew who was speaking and doing things, but it’s done to the extreme making it feel unnatural. The structure of the writing itself was problematic, as transitions are disjointed and awkward. It was more rambling than cohesive at times. For the characters, Claire’s best friend Jordan drove me insane with how many times she referred to Claire as ‘kitten,’ ‘pumpkin’ and ‘honey.’ It was all just too much for me.

Nice Follow up
This is a follow up book to Always Faithful but it is also a fine stand alone book too. In this book Nic is sent to Afghanistan where she once again is severely injured. Claire is determined to be by Nic's side in spite of herself.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first. This one was more about the wounds and healing Nic endured and what Claire experienced as her wife and lover. Together they faced the pain and fear and insecurities.

The reappearance of Jordan was fantastic, she is such a smart a**, I just adore her!!!

I would have liked more than just a few paragraphs about the the house and ceremony, I felt it ended way too abruptly. There is a third in the series and I hope it addresses some of the questions this book left.

LOVE IS STRONG

Nic is such a true Marine stoic, loyal, and filled with so much pride. Claire is the strength, and the pure love helped Nic through this tough time. Their love knows no bounds.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. I still love Claire and Nic, separately and together. Grace is still adorable. Jordan is still cool. I don't think I'll be reading the rest of the series though. The ending of this one seems like a satisfying one and I don't want more drama for my babies.

We once again find ourselves enthralled with the lives of Major Nichol ‘Nic’ Caldwell and Claire Monroe. Following on from Always Faithful Isabella takes us on a journey of danger, bravery and valour.

Nichol Caldwell is given a ‘payback’ tour that sends her to Afghanistan, working out of Camp Leatherneck in the Helmand Province, her job to work with a civilian collecting information from village elders. The constant danger and Nic’s intuition keep her sharp but even those with the most to lose can’t fight and win every battle.

From the traumatic opening sequence of events the reader is transported to Afghanistan. With outstanding detailed descriptions you literally feel the dust encompassing you as you read along.

Forever Faithful not only deals with the lives of the two characters we have come to love and admire but touches on so much more. The aftermath of war, life threatening injuries, PTSD and, above all, the courage that not only puts a soldier on the front line to keep us safe, but the level of courage, that gives them the ability to stay strong in their darkest moments.

Not even the strongest love can remain unscathed by war.Nic and Claire have to draw on their love and dedication for each other to fight their hardest battle. If you loved Always Faithful, my advice is buy the book. You will not be disappointed. Isabella has once again written from the heart about strong women fighting for all they are worth.

I loved reading about Nic,Claire and Grace again. Seeing what has happened to them since Always faithful was great. The parts that described Nic's time in Afghanistan was very interesting and emotional. I can't wait to see what's up next for them.

It was great reading about Nic and Claire again and experiencing their most recent struggles but it left me with several questions at the end. I'll be looking forward to the next book in the series to answer all my questions.

This was an awesome book. It really gives the reader a view into what life can be like for soldiers and their families. I'm going back and reading the first book and waiting for the next one.

I hope that Isabella's ability to capture PTSD and combat fatigue are not from personal experience because this is really a must read for anyone that wants to understand what Veterans and active duty personnel live with daily. The story and characters are engaging, so much so, I read all three books in a couple of days. So I'm going to cheat and use the same review for all three.

Isabella is a wonderful story teller even with difficult subjects. I hope that there are more in this series so I don't have to overwork my brain and make up my own ending...

2nd book of the series has Nic and Grace fully together 3 years after the first book. Grace now 6 is as cute as ever and has friends that say really stupid things. Although I think one of my favorite parts was when Jordan told off the mother of said friend of Grace’s. Nic has to go overseas and is injured and has the struggles that come with that. Claire is of course there for Nic whether she may like it or not. I love how they come together and the new people that are met like Cece.

Rebuilding Lives.

Nic Caldwell is back with her family trying to get her life back. Claire Monroe is determined to make their life together a wonderful relationship and family. Cecropia Ramirez has moved to Monterey to get a new start for her family. All three women work together to protect their children and lives. Romance and service. Recommend.

This is the second in a series, so I need to go back and read part 1. I would have loved to have seen the experiences Nic Caldwell has while in Afghanistan. That entire part of the story is missing. I also found a couple of factual mistakes in the writing.

ok

Perhaps I’m more accustomed to the author’s writing style since this book flowed better for me than the first. Moving on to #3.

I liked this book even more than the first novel in the series. Once again, one gets just a glimpse of what life in combat and its aftermath could be like. The only thing I would change would be the length. I'd like to read more, especially about Nic's recovery. God bless our women and men in the military.

A great follow up to Always Faithful. Love trumps pride. The emotions and struggles shown were written to where you understood and felt for the characters. Maybe in the next one they can catch a few breaks?

Can't wait to read the next chapter of their lives! You've got me hooked, line and sinker!

I like this story because it hits close to home as I was a wife of a military person for 27 years and the protocol of the military.
