I did really enjoy this book. At first I was worried it would be very similar to the paper princess series but it really wasn't. This book was a fast paced comedic book, I literally read it in 2 days.
At some points it went a bit too fast but I don't really mind because it is better than a book being too slow.
I loved the banter between Everly and Grayson, that's what made this book so enjoyable. I loved the relationship that formed with Dom and Everly and the friendship that formed with Izzy.
The ending did feel a little abrupt but it was a nice ending.
Overall this was a really enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to read a banter- filled fast paced book.

Reread Review
Okay so after rereading this I understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea! It is very cliche and it does move super quickly but for me this is just such a comfort read! It's such a short easy book that I just breeze through it!
I'm a real sucker for the found family trope and the way Dom becomes such a good brother and Sophie becomes such an amazing step mum. She doesn't try to replace Everlys mum but just wants to be there for her! It's lovely! But honestly it can be very cliche and predictable but just such an easy comfort read for me!

Good book

I got it because of the reviews. It is a great story. I would have given it five stars if there weren't so many unnecessary s*X scenes in it. The book ended abruptly. It was nice to read Grayson point of view but even that was incomplete. The story needs a better ending.

Read other books from this author in the future: maybe, but not at the moment

The Young Adult novel Endgame by Cora E. Holt is about Everly, whose single mother died of cancer. She is accepted by her father and his family, all of whom did not know Everly existed.
The book mentions that Everly was an anorexic a few months ago and accompanied her mother during her cancer. And it is precisely these two problem complexes that show that the book lacks depth. First of all, a cure for anorexia is a long process, but except for a brief mention of a therapist and a self-help group, the subject is never discussed and the cure is presented as quite simple, as if you flip a switch.
Then a friend dies and Everly falls back to starving and after a consultation in a clinic she starts eating again. That's just unbelievable.
The mourning for her mother is also diminished. Every now and then Everly is sad but only short.
The rest is an Enemy to Lovers romance. This part could have been considered an entertaining reading pleasure, but the lack of depth in two such serious problems/topics leads to the weak evaluation.

Deutsche Rezension:

Loved it

I'm a big fan of Cara's previous books so was excited to read this and I loved it even more than her fantasy series which I was not expecting.
The main character Everly is a rough around the edges northern girl just like me so easily relatable. The interaction between her and the main male character Grayson is highly entertaining and had me laughing out loud a few times which earned a few strange looks from my husband.
I really loved how their relationship progressed throughout. Firstly from novel and flirty banter to something deeper as they bonded over shared life experiences and sexual tension.
Great read and would love to see more from this group of characters......hint hint

5 stars for trying and succeeding

I can call myself an “expert on high school lovestories”. 😂 I’ve read plenty of them and when starting on a new one I always feel a bit afraid if I am going to like it or be at least a bit surprised. This author is new to me and I can see that she does not have a large group of ARC readers or fans. So I will give it to her - this is not the total 5 star read, but close to it because I was never bored and I adored both Posh and Manchester. I went and bought the second (Gray’s) book, although, I knew that it won’t be very different from first book. Actually, I enjoyed their sexy time, love-hate relationship, banter and fun.

I really liked this book. Grayson and Everly’s relationship was the perfect teenage angst love/hate relationship. After losing her mum to the big C Everly goes to stay with her Dad and his family (dads only just found out about her and the whole family accept her with welcoming arms). Everly also has a secret though which delves into some serious stuff. My only issue with this book was the grammatical errors, not sure how so many were missed. Having said this I’ll be one clicking this authors next book 👍🏻

I need more

I feel like I need more of this book. More of grayson. More of Everly. I just think I need more.
This book hooked me from the start. A great mix of playful banter and some heartache all in one package. And not what I expected when I started to read.
Loved it from first word to last.

This book had a good story line. However a few parts were unbelievable at times and a few moments didn’t quite add up properly- timing wise.

There were a lot of typos and punctuation errors too.

But the story line was solid and the characters were nice. I liked the rivalry between the main characters as it gave them a bit more depth.

I read that book in one night and it made me so emotional. I think this is such an amazing book, even though there’s a lot of sexual scenes, the story as a whole is quite deep and traumatic for Everly. I 100% recommend it but only if your like 15 and above.

Needs editing

I can't say if the plot was any good as I got to 6% and gave up there are so many misplaced words and grammatical errors extra words and mistakes i couldn't carry on which is a shame as the blurb had promise. I really wish authors would proof read before releasing.

Apart from the plot, which was okay-ish, I just can’t get over the grammar mistakes.

-“your” instead of you’re
-“I am sat”, this mistake happened so many times it was ridiculous...
-using “easy” as an adjective when it should have been “easily”/adverb

All the mistakes were basic English101...

Love this book

Great book. Well written. It's set down south at a English college. Loved all the characters especially the two main ones. Loved the banter between the character s also. Does include sex scenes which are well written. Would definitely recommend.

Editing issues

I really wanted to like this but the editing is terrible and totally put me off..It lacks depth and is a bit wishy washy when it comes to the main character's illness it's a shame as the blurb intrigued me...Feeling slightly let down.

I like that for once the MC moves in with a family that actually treats them good and loves them.. I've read so many book where they move in with family they didn't know about and somebody or all treat the person like crap... the banter between her and Grayson was good too

Enemies to lovers/ bully

Trigger warning: death of a loved one/ cancer/ suicide/ anorexia

Both of the main characters were a bit too toxic at times
