The Sorcerer's Conquest follows the story of a mysterious overlord that dominates the countryside of Gramadon, a fictional world, after hundreds of years of skirmishes from rival factions.
But all is not well with the new King, as one of his close advisors, Lord Meriaus, finds out there is more to his ambitions that may leave the fate of Gramadon, and the Universe as they know it, in jeopardy.

Young adult fantasy is not my cup of tea and while this book is no exception, I still managed to enjoy it. It was a bit too short for me to get attached to any of the characters, and I felt like there was more room to explore the world Khan created. But other than that, the story was very intriguing and creative. I was kept on my toes throughout. I'm not sure that I care to continue on with the series, but if I did I know I won't be bored. If you like YA fantasy and you want to support and independently published author, I 100% recommend.

The Sorcerer’s Conquest is book 1 in The Enixar series, a fantasy epic by Mikkell Khan. King Gudrunn isn’t content with the vast Gramadon Empire he acquired using the influential Enixar magic. Gudrunn now wants an ancient dragon’s egg which has been guarded by the Silent and Spiritual Monks for thousands of years. Possessing the egg would give him supreme domination.
He sends his emissary, Lord Meriaus, to cajole the monks into joining his monarchy. Their refusal only infuriates the king and Meriaus becomes distrustful of his intentions towards the holy men. Amadalia, Gudrunn’s unfeeling granddaughter, begins her sorcery training with him, unknown to anyone. If she passes his test, then he will have another secret weapon to use when the time is right.
I enjoyed reading this absorbing fantasy by Mikkell Khan, a remarkable writer. The story will catch your attention from its good beginning, and the ending is suspenseful as the drama continues in Solitude of Sin, book 2 of The Enixar series. Lord Meriaus, Gudrunn and other characters are well defined and unforgettable. It really has a good twist so I was impressed with the surprises the author had in store. The visuals I got from reading were clear, consistent, and fast paced.
There is a bit of graphic violence and the book is intended for young adults, but adults will definitely enjoy reading this fantasy epic too. The Sorcerer’s Conquest from The Enixar series comes highly recommended. Mikkell Khan is an author whose writing has caught my interest.
The Enixar: The Sorcerer’s Conquest – Mikkell K. Khan
I was provided with a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
“The Enixar: The Sorcerer’s Conquest” is the first book in The Enixar series, the second book in the series being “The Enixar: The Solitude of Sin.”
This story centers around Gudrunn who has been entrusted with the Enixar which magnifies his magical powers to terrifying levels.
As a result, Gudrunn soon becomes the sorcerer king of Gramadon. However, as the years pass Gudrunn becomes corrupted by his power and rules over the people of Gramadon as an evil tyrant. Yet the sorcerer king’s granddaughter, Amadalia, is in awe of her grandfather. He soon takes her under his wing and begins teaching her about the Enixar and her magical abilities.
Meriaus was a trusted general of the sorcerer king Gudrunn, but had begun to question his king of late. He was started to feel uneasy about the orders he was being given and questioning Gudrunn’s judgment.
That’s when Paldek reveals himself to Meriaus and explains the origins and secret to the source of the sorcerer kings’ powers. Both agree that Gudrunn needs to be stopped and a plan is formed to save the people of Gramadon.
“The Enixar: The Sorcerer’s Conquest” is a fantasy tale that is best suited for young adults that are around the age of 10 to 13 years old.
It was a simple read but enjoyable. Though it was shorter than what I was use to reading the author was still able to convey his world and character to the reader in a very short and concise manner.
The Enixar takes us from a fictional world with a Sorcerer who feels he has the right to become the King when he should only be keeping a gateway to the other planets in the system. Will the people be given a reprieve? Can't wait to read the next book in this series!
This is a new author I found. Enjoyed the book to the end, You get into the characters , wondering What will happen. A slight twist but I will not spoil it for you. Hoping you enjoy as much as I did . What will happen will have to wait for the next book.
I was given a free copy of Sorcerer’s Conquest by Mikkel Kahn (author), Mind of Khan Studios (publisher), and Book Sirens in exchange for an honest review.
The Sorcerer’s Conquest is the first story in the Eixnar series that I have read by Mikkel Khan. I think this story is fantasy with a bit of science fiction sprinkled in to make a science fantasy story. This story, in the form of a novella, is about a tyrant who wants to expand his reach and power and rebels who are trying to stop him. Elements in this story include a celestial being, a distant galaxy, monks, a kingdom, an egg, and magic.
This review will not contain any spoilers.
After I finished reading the novella, my first thought was a novella was too small for this type of story. Mr. Khan introduced some interesting characters and plot threads, but does develop these characters or plot threads, and then the character arcs and plot threads appear to be resolved at the end of the story.
The strongest part of the story is the world building. Mr. Khan has created a world that is a nice blend of fantastical elements with magic and science fiction elements and it takes place in what appears to be an eastern-influenced setting.
The characters work is the weakest part of the story. One character is introduced in the story with a memorable scene and her arc is resolved off-page. Another character is featured in the beginning of the story and only appears at the end in a critical scene. Maybe I missed it, but two characters that have no interaction throughout the story are involved something very important which appears out of the blue at the end of the story without any set-up or foreshadowing.
I think this story would have been better if it would have been a novel and not a novella. In a novel, there would be opportunity to create interesting and dynamic character arcs. The scenes would be a bit more developed and establish more of a story with set-up and foreshadowing. I wanted to spend more time in this world.
This novel would have benefit with another round of editing. I noticed the author wrote the novella using both past and present tense, and occasionally used both in the same paragraph. I do not remember specific examples, but I think he used anachronistic words a few times that took me out of the story, and I found it difficult to get back into it.
I rate Sorcerer’s Conquest 2 stars.
I would like to thank Mikkel Kahn, Mind of Khan Studios, and Book Sirens for the free e-book version of Sorcerer’s Conquest.
From one galaxy to another, some things never change . . . .
THE ENIXAR The Sorcerer’s Conquest Mikkell K. Khan
Started: 5 August 2018. Finished: 6 August 2018. Some spoilers:
Title: From one galaxy to another, some things never change . . . .
We learn that the one who ended the world war hales from a different world. The power that he uses can corrupt the user absolutely, it appears to have started working on him, since he has an absolute thirst for the rulership of this acquired world. He also appears to have aging under his control.
{I believe that it might get interesting}
The monks of the world are wise in their treatment of life: . . . . imbalance of power is never a good thing, it leads only to catastrophe.
The upstart recruited another to learn the magic that he s a heir to. Some things should be left in the past. While learning from your history is crucial so as not to repeat it. Learning magic when all around you have science is on the stupid side of your future.
The recruit picks up it for the entity has the same genes. The training is a bit on the risky side. While the risk is high and you can learn skills from this type of lessons, invariably all people learn is the dark aspects.
Even the non monks have that certain essence that true believers carry at their core. After the monks fell and the tyrant began to show his true face , a local warrior who took his oath seriously (was heard to say): Innocent people should never pay for a ruler’s ego.
After a series of battles and nearly losing his life, the warrior wins out over the tyrant, never realizing that the tyranny will still go on . . . .
I loved the cover , I thought it looked very mysterious and really interesting in details , once you read the book you then realize that the cover actually really went well with the title of the book and the underlined story and plot . I was really drawn to all the characters they were all fantastically described and came across very unique , and in the overall outline of the powers that were in this novel were actually really well described , now I'm not one for taking too long to read a book , and overall never wanted to put this book down , but I was surprised by how well the respected characters were played out in the novel and still think there is more than meets the eye to one in particular character that you don't really hear much about in the book , so I expect there will be more on this one in book 2 . well I hope this character comes more to light in book 2 .
so overall I was happy with the story line and plot , the characters were really interesting and portrayed well , and I was surprised that , at the end of book 1 you were actually given a lot of the first chapter of book 2 to read , but I think it was done like that to draw you in to the next book ,. so you wont get disappointed .
Look forward to next book .. in time when I will get to read it too.
I hope I get to meet the characters again , and meet more of new ones too . so until then ,.. see you soon .
I really enjoyed this book; it’s written partially in the perspective of an evil sorcerer and was fun to watch his plans for … basically a version of world domination, as isn’t that always the case?
There was ample opportunity to get to know other characters as well and the groundwork for a dramatic book 2 was set in place so I cannot wait to read the next.
Will continue to seek more from Mikkell Khan as his writing is really fun. This one could be a bit dark at times but I wouldn’t consider it trigger-worthy or inappropriate. There was a bit of violence.

This story has good strong characters. A very enjoyable story line. This is book #1 in the series and I have never read this author before. I will continue reading this author as I loved the story.
The Enixar: The Sorcerer’s Conquest is a so-so book in my opinion. The author did a good job creating an interesting world and leaving the reader with enough questions to be interested in the second book. At the same time, it’s very short length meant the pacing felt rushed and too much information was told to the reader as opposed to being shown to them. I think this book would be great for middle grade readers or very young YA readers, but older readers might not enjoy it as much.
I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a new author for me and I am happy to say this book is really well done.. A Sorcerer king who is turning from benevolent to extreme cruelty. An advisor who is learning all he can about the king with a secret agenda of his own. A fast moving plot with excellent developed characters and lots of magic. It all revolves around finding a dragonette egg to gain ultimate power. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading book two.
What happens when the guardian of life gets corrupted from the draw of the god like power they can yield? Hopefully a successful rebellion, but as usual, victory isn’t always cut and dry. This new to me author held me captive in this mystical, imaginary world that definitely makes you ponder present day power grabbing scenarios. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
I loved reading this story cause it has strong characters and a very enjoyable story line. This is book #1 in the series and I never read this author before this story but I will continue reading this author I loved the story. This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story.
A very interesting tale that most definitely has a lot more story to go. Mikkell Khan wove a strange tale of power leading a man to his end. There is just enough mystery left at the end of the book to tantalize and entreat the reader to head to the next book.
Found noting about this to be special and stand out. I could take it or leave it, which leaving it I am doing. Could not find any special item about this story and coupled with being so short, I found to be a big waist of my time. Which I could have been reading something way better.
Got only a little way in, but couldn't warm to the characters - they're a bit too mean for me! So I abandoned the book. I don't think I should rate it - but if I did it would only be the two stars meaning 'it was okay'.
The sorcerer king of a planet decides he wants to incorporate a peaceful valley into his kingdom. Big Mistake! This is a good tale to start a book series. The rest of the books should be very interesting to read.
